Not sure why so many people snigger at the idea of Rafa. He is a fantastic manager

Doesn't matter, they will buy him 5 additional attacking players he doesn't want, then fire him next year for not playing them all in 11-man squad.

Fluminense have announced that Kenedy is no longer a player of theirs and reports have come out that we've signed him for a fee believed to be around £6.3m. If this is true then I imagine he'll be loaned out to Vitesse, especially given the fact he wouldn't be granted a work permit with the current rules.

Kenedy is another player you'll sign for a minimal fee before selling in 3-4 years for at least triple what you paid... You have to admire it

Paulo Freitas @Cynegeticus According to reports in Brazilian media, Kenedy was sold to Chelsea for US$ 10 million. #CFC

You forgot to add "without playing any competitive minutes". You bring in FFP Uefa then Chelsea will laugh at it!

Fair play to Chelsea. Youth facilities are being invested in and young talent is sold for a profit. The young talents enjoy state of the art training facilities and Chelsea make huge profits.

It would be great though if some of these players would actually live up to all the hype that surrounds them, and make it to the first team.

Whats happened to Van Ginkel. Still at Milan?

it was a years loan so he's back at Chelsea. Both clubs would be well served making it another year. When he finally settled, he started to show the last 10 games or so.

Still a long way to go, but certainly has talent.

Cant see him getting a sniff tbh at Chelsea. Shame was looking like a real talent when I watched him before he went there. Injuries aint helped I suppose.

*cough* De Bruyne *cough* *cough* Courtois

And a **** of a lot more missfired. The ones you mentioned did live up it, but we can start a long long list of kids who were supposed to be great, and ended up as one of the many. A 2-3% success rate is not what I would call great.

He did live up to his potential though. He's way better than Oscar atm and selling him was a huge mistake.

He isn't better than Oscar at all. Their is a reason why Mourinho rates Oscar so highly even if his attacking contribution fluctuates throughout the season. It's because without him, our play suffers greatly. He brings out the best in the likes of Hazard and Fabregas. De Bruyne is a good player and glad to see he is doing well but I don't think it was a mistake selling him. He wanted to leave and we got good money

De Bruyne hasn't lived up to his potential yet, he performed well for Werder Bremen on loan from us and he's arguably had one breakout season with Wolfsburg. For me, he still needs to perform at a high level with an elite club to live up to his potential, a club where he'll be constantly pushed for that starting position by other top players around him. Until he moves to a top club and performs at the levels he's capable of I'll always consider De Bruyne to be the case of a big fish in a small pond. As Alcaraz stated it wasn't a mistake selling him, he wanted to leave and we sold him at a profit.

De Bruyne struggled to complete a three yard pass when he played against Swindon shortly before we sold him. He just didn't look good enough when given chances by Jose but in his defence he didn't get many.

I don't know, he was very highly rated at the club before his injury. He may well get a chance next season if he can continue to recover in this one, although that will depend on how RLC does.

Yeah true. Have seen a few links with both Milan clubs lately.

He'll definitely be loaned out again, but I'd prefer to see him in the Bundesliga to be honest. It's a shame that he's been plagued by injuries ever since joining us, coming from Vitesse he was considered to be one of the best prospects in the Eredivisie and he did look promising whenever I saw him play up until that injury. Hopefully he'll recover, but as we all know fully recovering from an ACL injury is difficult and generally players who suffer from that kind of injury never quite look the same when they come back.
