I think Aguero will end up at City personally, I have a sneaky suspicion/hunch one player that is still a genuine possibility for CFC to sign is Pastore...

Deal wont be sorted out quickly but I have a feeling they are talking/negotiating for him as I type.

excuse me but Pastore isnt Agueros calibre.

It depends whether you believe his hype or watch him play...

22 years old, he's maturing quickly and rarely loses the ball, I think he is/will be Aguero class especially if you consider Javier has immense natural ability and is able to adapt to a CM/Advanced CM role, which Chelsea need, much better than Aguero would adapt to playing some sort of inside forward wide left/wide right of Torres.

i think Kun will bring more influence in our play, he is like Rooney, has fighting spirit, if he loses the ball he runs back after it, never lazy on the pitch. And I think Aguero Torres Sturridge(or another sparkling winger) will do much more damage to opposites defenders.

But how are they going to get the ball in threatening positions without a creative midfielder?

(I'm just arguing the point because I want Pastore, I know they can get the ball without one..)

BH - Don't believe everything you're told by papers and SSN/BBC. I wouldn't rule us out of signing Aguero, although it is unlikely he may not want to join City and atm if Real sign Neymar and Adebayor then I don't see them signing him. I can see him signing for City, but I think there's a 10-15% chance he could join us.

As for Neymar. Yes, it doesn't look like he's coming, but at the time it didn't look like it...I was told otherwise however and also at the time Abramovich did have people negotiating with Neymar and I'm 90% sure he would have agreed to join us. For once though, Abramovich was being stubborn and wasn't prepared to offer an extra £5 million on a relatively unproven player, hopefully he made the right decision. It's not impossible that he will sign for Chelsea...I think it's more likely he will sign if he doesn't move this summer or in January. I think it's very unlikely he'll join this summer - 2-5% chance imo.

As for Pastore. He is a very talented player and there isn't much between him and Aguero. Aguero is more mature, but as Jamie says Pastore is still maturing and very quickly. With the players we have in our squad he will mature even more and develop in to just as good a player as Aguero. Also as Jamie says - he will fit into our team better and is more needed. Either would do wonders for us imo, but if you look at what they would bring to the team then Pastore is more needed because we need a playmaker and Pastore is one of the best there is and still developing.

4 assists last season in Serie A doesn't really blow me away.

Pastore is superb talent. No doubt but there is a lot between Aguero and Pastore. Aguero has proved against big teams and has played consistently well for 3-4 years.

And also odd comparison. One is striker and one is Midfielder..

12 goals as well, granted 5 assists doesn't really do him much justice since he is billed as an advanced attacking playmaker but his goal tally is impressive and the old cliche of 'he will play better with better players around him' could be true in his case, someone like Torres/Drogba to link with would maybe do the kid more justice on his individual statistics front. But then again the old point about Luka Modric and Henderson, statistically Henderson had a better season but not many would judge him as the better player out of the two.

His development over the past 2 years:

09/10- 28 starts, 3 goals and 5 assists

Compared to 10/11- 42 starts 12 goals and 5 assists

Only forward he is really working off is Abel Hernandez who is himself still developing, quite a tough job to get too many assists at Palermo when they don't really have speedy wingers to play through and not much of a proven strikeforce.

In fact I'm not even sure how many assists Modric got. Can't remember but I know it wasn't great.

Yer was 2 in the PL last season but to be fair to him Spurs's strikers last season couldnt finish their dinner.

I wasn't comparing their attributes. Just who will be better for the team and their overall ability. I can't quite explain what I mean for the overall ability, but I will use FM as an example - the scout report; Pastore a 3 star ability and Aguero a 3 and a half. Poor example I know, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Ok, cheers thought it was and yeah to be fair the Spurs' strikers weren't great and Modric's game isn't really about assists.

Modric was still racking up the key passes too, and his passing accuracy was superb. Thats were Pastore needs to improve, his passing can be wayward.

Though they are different players for their clubs, Pastore is more advanced up the pitch, partially relying on supply frm the criminally underrated Josip Ilicic. Whereas Modric sets the tempo from deep

Didn't Sneijder get single figures in assists?

BTW, which is the official statistics source for European football? I mean, the place where I can see the players with most assists or goal or whatever.. ?

and stop arguing about who has the most assists cuz its not always up to the playmaker.. it matters what strikers u have in the team, we have Torres Drogba, they have defoe and crouch ffs. thats so irrelevant.

Yep, agree on all, but Pastore had 2.2 key passes compared to Modric's 2.1. However, Modric had 87% pass completion (I think) compared to Pastore's 73%. He is a really good passer though and plays fairly simple passes, nothing fancy. Definitely needs to up his pass completion though.

In fairness you'd expect him to have a higher key pass rate further up the pitch, but take nothing away from the fact hes a very classy young player, and a real goal threat, If he can up his work rate thats a Lampard replacement in the making.

Whether you can get him remains to be seen. Inter will move for him or Tevez, could be an interesting fight
