I dont blame Torres tbh... he is absolutely spot on although he should have known better and kept such views to himself, I just think all the frustration over his poor form and being left out of Spains Squad and Our first team has got to him

from what I have seen of him, certainly looks like he has got a bright future ahead of him, him and Nathan Ake are our two most promising U-16 prospects imo along with Nats Chalobah, hopefully we see all of them wearing Chelsea Blue one day

actually he is **** right about that.. and i for one wouldnt be mad if he actually said that.. Lampard is the slowest player weve got, and he(Torres) is supposed to be getting passes exactly from Lampard.. and its not just Lampard.. so yea, he is right. and im not mad about that.
he will be fined though, cuz commenting his teammates like that is unacceptable.

why? the interview was authorised, and he hasnt actually slagged off his team mates as far as we can tell

Meireles blames broken promise for Liverpool exit

Chelsea-Raul-Meireles+cropped

Raul Meireles today accused Liverpool of a broken promise and claimed he was forced to submit a transfer request once they had decided to sell him to Chelsea.

Meireles completed a reported £12million move to Stamford Bridge in the final minutes of transfer deadline day almost two weeks ago, a switch that angered many Reds supporters.

The 28-year-old revealed upon signing for Chelsea that he had never wanted to leave Anfield and that he would eventually explain why he had done so.

He attempted to set the record straight this afternoon after being officially unveiled as a Blues player, appearing to give credence to rumours he was promised a 100% pay rise at Liverpool if he impressed during what was his debut season.

All I have to say is that I had one promise at Liverpool which wasn't fulfilled," said the midfielder, who certainly lived up to his side of the bargain after joining the Reds from Porto.
"It's not the only thing to blame. But that's why the Liverpool fans are unsure why I left."
He added: "Liverpool asked me to hand in a transfer request, so that's normal."
Meireles admitted he was stunned to discover he had been made available for transfer.

"I was aware that Liverpool wanted to sell me in the summer, which was a bit surprising to me," said Meireles, who was reluctant to discuss his relationship with Reds boss Kenny Dalglish.

"There's no point touching this subject any more.
"I was a bit surprised, but now I'm just concentrating on my present and future, and that's with Chelsea."
Indeed, Meireles was delighted to have ended up at Stamford Bridge.
"When Chelsea showed interest, it was like a golden opportunity," he said.
"I'm here now, it's a new adventure, and I want to do well here."

Meireles' move reunited him with Andre Villas-Boas, who he worked under during pre-season a year ago before joining Liverpool.

He said: "I worked under Andre for one month at Porto, so I felt that there's the same mentality here as there was at Porto - the desire to win competitions and trophies. With Andre, we can do that.

"In one month, it was enough to see how he works and his desire to win things. So it wasn't hard to make the decision to come to Chelsea."

Meireles made an instant impact on his Chelsea debut on Saturday, a brilliant through ball setting up Daniel Sturridge's outrageous backheeled goal at Sunderland.

Portugal international Meireles was coy on whether his year in England had made him better prepared for the rigours of a Barclays Premier League title challenge.

"I had one year to adapt to the Premier League, but it's two different clubs and different styles," said Meireles, who was hoping to make his Champions League bow for Chelsea in tomorrow night's Group E opener against Bayer Leverkusen.

"We chase different competitions, and I just hope I can achieve things here at Chelsea

Lamps isn't the one who slows down the tempo the most...that's SloMo and Anelka.

Well Chelsea have asked for the full interview to see if anything was lost in translation. They published that he said some of the older players at Chelsea were too slow. If thats the case and he did say that then he will recieve a fine from Chelsea and do his reputation from the Chelsea fans who me being one has been very loyal towards him regardless no good at all.

So we can say our tempo is too slow, but he can't? He's right and we know it, he's done nothing wrong. If he's spoken out of term and it's Chelsea's policy to fine players for talking out of term, then fine him, but that doesn't stop him from being right. Got to say though against SAFC our tempo was good...other than when Nico got the ball, and when SloMo came on.

The interview was authorised, and AVB doesnt seem to have a problem with players havig a different perspective, s cant really see him getting fined. But he is bang on. Malouda and Anelka shouldnt be playing if AVB wants his football to really work

Great, Feruz is a very hot prospect :)

Surprised Chelsea want to question FT about this thing, he's completely right in saying it IMO. The signing of Mata is a breath of fresh air into the club, and now we have another Spanish player who knows where Torres will be, we might see him score a fair few goals this year

Christ Raul, get over it, and stop trying to make yourself feel better.

Trying to make himself better? He is just saying what happened behind the scenes and the reason for his transfer. If I'm not wrong this was his first interview after the move.

Haven't seen much of the lad but alot has been said about him, will keep a close eye on the boy.

No he cant say it, imagine if your one of them older players and you heard your teammate saying that about you. It could cause a divide in the dressing room and if it does our season will implode yet again!!

I will be disappointed if the Celtic dont sue Chelsea over this. Blatant tapping up.

So a young lad decides playing for Chelsea is a better offer than playing for Celtic and all of a sudden he has been tapped up!!! Get a grip din.

Like i said its about the princables, you never put down one of your teammates no matter what.

Why should he, he never wanted to leave Liverpool and they forced him out. He had a good year in his first season, so good infact the fans voted him your player of the season and he gets shunted out. Wouldnt you be abit annoyed and puzzled??

Every man and his dog knows that he has been offer 2.5k a week on his 17th birthday and he is getting a rent free penthouse to live in. The fact that Celtic fans have known since he was joining Chelsea since January (when he was 15) shows that Chelsea have been tapping him up.

That dosen't mean he has been tapped up lol, he may of known of the intrest from Chelsea and that would have easily been enough to pursuade him.

Sorry for asking, but why does that show they have been tapping him up?

He was down in London talking with Chelsea officials.
That is tapping up.....

We will see if the club dispute it or not.

Of corse its nothing to do with him wanting to join a better club and league and more financial rewards.
Sorry how many times has Chelsea won the European Cup. Chelsea arent a big club or a better club. That fact that we can bring more fans to SPL games than Chelsea can to a EPL games says a lot.

Financial rewards? Yes.
He will fit right in at Chelsea, absolutely no loyalty. He would probably be dead only for Celtic FC and he wont even repay us with one year of first team football.
