Hopefully that might shut some emo Liverpool fans up.

'Cos obvs nothing will happen to Terry because he's England Captain and doesn't play for Liverpool'

Will be interesting to see what happens to Terry. He doesn't really have a leg to stand on.

if they follow precedent, thats his career gone, the last person to fall foul got banned from all football grounds. needless to say, he couldnt play football.

*News Flash* After the news of John Terry facing criminal charges, the Luiz Suarez case has been reviewed and he will now face 2 months in jail and a 20 game ban because they forgot to add in that he plays for Liverpool.

Will be interesting to see who will be England captain come the summer.
John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard are all criminals, lol. Wayne Rooney is no example of how to behave on or off the field either. Lamps for captain

"OMG YOU'RE SO BIASED" shut up he's the best option.

You do know that Terry hasn't been charged and is innocent til proven guilty, right?

There aren't many better options in central midfield.

Gerrard, Wilshere, Parker, Barry, Milner, Jones. Milner probably won't go anyway, and Jones is a centre-half.

Milner will go, Wilshere and Parker are the preferred two.

(Jamie, I'm about half way through a response, I haven't forgotten you ;))

I don't know how I feel about this. I feel a lot of loyalty towards the guy but I can't be blind enough to try and defend him. He's been found guilty enough of rascist remarks that he will be formally charged so he should be punished by club, country and state regardless of who he is. If they throw the book at him it will obviously be **** for us but a clear message needs to go out.

Terry's remarks remind me a lot of the Everton fan who got banned for calling Saha a “******* useless lazy French *******”. I'm not sure I totally agree with either because in both statements the racist element underlies the focus of the insult, "****" and "*******" respectively. However the fact Terry thinks that "black" is a derogatory term, or is at least a factor worth distinguishing, is disgraceful. He may have been in the heat of the moment etc but if I called my co-worker a "black ****" tomorrow I'd be fired and probably prosecuted. Lots of us have stressful jobs, it's not an excuse.

If he hasn't been proven guilty then why have they charged him?

Being charged means they believe they have enough evidence to secure a conviction. He still has the right to defend himself, he's innocent until a jury finds him guilty.

@SkySportsNews Crown Prosecution Service says John Terry, if found guilty, will face a maximum punishment of a £2,500 fine #SSN

make of this what you will.

[h=3]STATEMENT ON TERRY CHARGE
[/h]Posted on: Wed 21 Dec 2011

Chelsea Football Club today received notification from the Crown Prosecution Service that John Terry has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

John has made it clear he denies the charge and is determined to do all he can to prove his innocence.
Chelsea FC has always been fully supportive of John in this matter and there is no question that we will continue to be so.
The club finds all forms of discrimination abhorrent and we are proud of the work we undertake campaigning on this important issue.
Chelsea will not be commenting further on the subject while the legal process runs its course.
