Yer exacly that, we have quite a few leaders who can just carry the baton whenever the going gets tough. If we didnt have them players then **** knows what would happen.

Yer i remember Rob Green saying in his first day he bent in one of his trademark free-kicks against him in training. Such a talent.

Much as he as bankrolled the club, Roman is letting it down with his actions. Sccking Carlo was bad enough, but to not have anyone lined up, is just silly. Especially when Chelsea need to getting into the transfer market, most of their rivals are well advanced on their targets.

Lets hope they can tempt Hiddink out of his turkey contract. Fans and players deserve better to be honest

Its a catch 22 situation with Roman and us because in a way we will always owe him for what he has done for this club. We were just 2 weeks away from possible liquidisation and this man decided to buy this club and save it for what looks like the long term. Not only did he save this club from going under he has turned us into one of the best sides in the world and one of the most feared names in this game and we are getting bigger and bigger with every passing day. We have been the second most successfull team in terms of silverwere in the last 8 years and compete in the biggest club competition every single year with some of the worlds best players.

But......

Because of all that when he does somthing out of the ordinary i.e force our sign players behind the managers back, Mourinho, sack Wilkins and sack Ancelotti etc etc in a way we have to take this on the chin. Yes we can be annoyed with it but if we complain too much all he has to say is "i saved you and turned your team into one of the best in the world" and he is right isent he.

Also with all these bad things he has done we have still continued to be one of the best sides around and still been competitive at a very high level. He also has no Chelsea/footballing men around him to help him make decisions so you can see why he makes calls like this.

BTW, any news on Aguero? heard nothing last coupleadays.

I personly cant see Chelsea signing him. It makes sence to try and build the squad around Torres now not bring in more strikers and Aguero is a proper striker. Neymar on the other hand can play deeper and out wide so i would think that is the more feesable option.

BTW, Today read that Neymar's agents are here in London to negotiate directly with Abramovich, I cant pretend that I fully trust the source though(tribalfootball), so any thoughts? Whataya think :)

Tribal football is not a great source but like you i hope its true. If the board dont have a say in transfers then we wont sign/sell anyone until we appoint a new manager will we.

The sooner we appoint new manager the better.. and hopefully that would be Hiddink. I trust only him now.. He won the FA, and is born winner, I BELIEVE! CMON GUUS!

He is the right choice if we want someone to lift the players and fans straight away without a dout.

not to forget that he was unlucky not 2 beat Barcelona, I hope we sign him and honestly i do not care if we do not win trophies for the next season as long as he remains at the helm because we all know he has the ability and is one of the best managers in world football today

Claude Makélélé has retired yesterday. Legend.

Perez in 2003:

We will not miss Makélelé. His technique is average, he lacks the speed and skill to take the ball past opponents, and ninety percent of his distribution either goes backwards or sideways. He wasn't a header of the ball and he rarely passed the ball more than three metres. Younger players will arrive who will cause Makélelé to be forgotten

What an idiot Perez was..

He is still an idiot. And a big one.

Congrats to Makelele for the great career he had. And I cant thank him enough for the contribution he made during wearing the blue kit, he was a key player for us indeed, and he will be never forgotten.

In particular the 'younger players will arrive' bit is laughable. They're a team that's completely unable of growing their own players, due to their apparent need to buy absolutely every player for every position. Youngsters never have a chance. Even more retarded is the fact that they sell youngsters and then buy them back after they've done some developing... That's the main difference between them and Chelsea (McEachran, Bruma, van Aanholt) or even City (Boyata, Weiss, Richards) - they do spend a lot but even then they get some of their men from their youth systems.

And I know there are guys like Raul or Guti that came through the ranks, but that was a long, long time ago...

Everything has been quiet on the new Chelsea manager rumous so far, wonder if that means we are close to revealing our new man?

Hope we can wrap up the new manager by June 15th and then concentrate on the new season

with the days keep going by, I still think that Hiddink will be the man:) but nothing's certain at this point, maybe only Roman knows the truth. Hopefully he will reveal it sooner than later.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is set to be handed a new deal which could see him finish his career at Stamford Bridge.

Good news I guess? :) Sell Anelka and Kalou, bring Lukaku and Neymar!

I love the way he said that and Zidane said this:

Why put another layer of gold paint on the Bentley when you are losing the entire engine?

And then 3 years later McManaman said this:

I think Claude has this kind of gift – he's been the best player in the team for years but people just don't notice him, don't notice what he does. But you ask anyone at Real Madrid during the years we were talking about and they will tell you he was the best player at Real. We all knew, the players all knew he was the most important. The loss of Makélelé was the beginning of the end for Los Galacticos… You can see that it was also the beginning of a new dawn for Chelsea. He was the base, the key and I think he is the same to Chelsea now.[6]

Just shows what Florentino Perez knows about football.

Perez aint know a **** about football. He has money, and thats it. For all these years as a president, how many players has he grown? I'm sure they have excellent facilities and stuff... but he doesnt understand the game. Chelsea spend a lot too, but we grow players, (potentially)big ones. Roman has a dream, to grow players like Barca does, and he has been investing hundreds of millions for years now to make that dream happen. Because Roman understands the game(except the manager thing) and if you cannot grow players from your own academy, you are pretty much ****. Thats why Barca are a big club now(dont get me wrong I hate these ***********).

Like? Whom did you bring from academy to first team? You have sold few potentially good players.
