Oh come oon.. Alex's poor perfomance started right after the rumours that Juventus are interested in him (August I think?). however, he was STILL played by AVB, which was absolute mistake I believe, because his head wasnt right at that time, and on the pitch he performed disgusting.

Then, December he submitted a transfer request which was accepted by Chelsea.
"We have respected Alex's transfer request so the market's open for him.", AVB said.

As for the reason he submitted that request, I dont know.

maybe because he's 3rd/4th choice CB.. + he seeks a new challenge. I believe a little from both.

AVB himself said that both Alex and Anelka handed TR.

You seem to have missed the point of what I was saying. I didn't ask for confirmation that they had handed in transfer requests, I wanted to know why they did so.

I doubt Cahill will be first-team

It seems kind of crazy to buy him for what you'd imagine to be 25m+ once you factor in wages, just so he can warm the bench. I can't see that happening and I honestly think AVB will rotate the three of them with Cahill as the least played but still getting a good number of games. If that's the case, then Alex could have been given those games and everything would be dandy.

I suddenly thought though, Alex handed in his TR before Iva got injured right?

We've denied accepting a bid from QPR for Alex according to Mirror Football and Philippe Auclair.

He suits the wing so perfectly imo, he's got loads of energy, he's quick, he's agile, he can dribble, he's a fair shot on him and good tackling.

How we are lining up today? (I'm going to have to watch the game on MotD, stuck in Senate House atm desperately trying to meet deadlines >.<)

Torres shows how much luck he has once again. Fantastic bycicle kick but hits the bar.

Torres has no luck whatsoever. I mean NONE at all. This would have been a brilliant goal. I still applauded him though.

My god - Torres fouled twice in the area. First time nothing given, second time Torres penalised for diving when there was CLEAR contact!

Massive win against tough side. A win against Martin's teams is a huge achievement.

I feel extremely sorry for Nando. and im tired of seeing his sad face after the final whistles.

no luck at all.

Phil Dowd is an absolute ****!!! 3 penalty shouts turned down 2 for Torres and one for Bendtner, such a poor performance by him and his officials as they flagged Essien offside when he was clearly onside!!! We need to start picking the right ball, Ramires put 3 or 4 passes through at the end which were absolutely **** poor and went straight to their keeper. Torres played brilliantly well again today and was unlucky his volley hit the bar and should have won 2 penalties for us. Highlight of the day was seeing the Bison back in action and it didn't even look like he was away, such a fantastic footballer to watch, onwards and upwards UTC!!!!
