And Pigs can fly

He is arrogant, bit more than other players but certainly not to the degree some people like to claim

I very much doubt he will start at City. Or lets put it this way... He may start but their will be a lot more pressure on him to hit the ground running due to the quality players City have on the bench, if he takes time to adjust and his performances suffer then he very well might find himself on the bench consistently

At United and Chelsea, he will definitely be one of their key players. But he can forget about wearing the No.10 Jersey at Chelsea at least.

I still do not think he deserves all the hype around him. Plus do not see how he is in a position to make all these demands. He is definitely very arrogant and thinks highly of himself- Lets see if he can actually back it up

I dont know whether zzeezzy claimed or you did that Hazard was very arrogant.

With this, I'm saying bye to this topic.

Chelsea triumph left me cold, says unhappy Romelu Lukaku

• 'I don't like people talking to me about the Champions League'
• Striker prefers loan deal to remaining on the bench

The Belgium and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku said he felt no joy at his club's Champions League and FA Cup triumphs and would rather be loaned out than repeat a season warming the bench. The 19-year-old, who moved to Chelsea from Anderlecht a year ago, started only four times last season and came on as a substitute on eight occasions.
Lukaku told De Standaard newspaper that he would often leave a match after 70 minutes if he was watching from the stands and said he felt no sense of achievement when Chelsea won the FA Cup, in which he played only a few minutes in the third round.
"When [Salomon] Kalou put the cup on my lap in the bus I asked him to take it away immediately. I didn't want to touch it because just as with the Champions League I had no part in it at all," he told the newspaper on Thursday. "I don't like people talking to me about the Champions League. It wasn't me, but my team that won the trophy."
Lukaku said he had improved in training, was eating far fewer hamburgers and, despite good performances in the matches he had started, had failed to win a regular place in the team. "Chelsea really wanted me last summer and paid a lot for me but after a while I thought are you just throwing money around?" he said.
Lukaku said he would seek talks with Chelsea's manager, whether that was the incumbent Roberto Di Matteo or a successor. "During the conversation with the manager I will see whether he's serious about me or not. If not, I will go away on loan. I have to play," Lukaku said.
His fellow Belgian, the goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, joined Chelsea from Racing Genk a year ago, but was immediately loaned out to the Spanish side Atlético Madrid and was part of their Europa League-winning team.

This was predictable, should have gone on loan back to Anderlecht.

Seems like a wasted talent right now. I know he is young still, but with the way he is built it's not like cotton wool needs to be wrapped around him is there. Supposedly the reason Chelsea were keen to get him young was to turn him into a rounder play than just a battering ram like he was at Anderlecht... Yet they keep him benched? How does he learn from that? He's the type of player that needs experience more than anything else. I hope he gets more game time this season, he's a player I admire.

If not Anderlecht, then certainly a side in Spain. Needs games at his level.

I would argue to the controrary Mike. At Anderlecht, they were using him a as a bulldozer and he was not progressing as a player. At Chelsea, the staff have really put in work on his technical abilities and he has improved tremendously as a player.

Granted he has not played much of a part but I recall him saying that at the start of the season that he did not mind sitting on the bench. In Fact he even stated at the start of the season that he did not want to go out on loan but instead wanted to learn from Drogba and Torres even if he did not get much game time

Anyways, he should be more patient. Should get more opportunities next season since Drogba has left. If not there is always the possibility of a loan

Problem is due to the rules, we could not send him on loan last season even though we were keen to do so. Plus he was never going to get much match time ahead of Drogba and Torres.

I don't really feel this is a wasted season for him. He has improved a lot as a player. Next season he will get more game time either on loan or at Chelsea. He has to play next season in any case

No surprise really. He has played seconds since his arrival. He should be sent on loan at some PL club imo, because if those rumours about Hulk coming are true, that will make him automatically 3rd choice striker due to Hulk's ability to play there. He should be loaned to Fulham, to play with his compatriot Dembele.

We wanted to send him on loan although due to FIFA rules we could not. Plus he even said he was happy sitting on the bench this season because supposedly his aim was to learn as much as he could from Drogba and Torres. Now all of a sudden his tune has changed.

Anyways nothing to worry about, he said earlier that he was looking forward to next season. Understandably he wants talks with the Chelsea manager so as to determine his next course of action

Good luck if another team who has him on loan plays him out of position! God forbid versatility for this guy.

??? Taking a cheap shot at Lukaku there. Which manager in the world would play a striker similar to Drogba on the wing

Not really the point, he wants to play but moans about playing anywhere else other than upfront, which is not always possible, if he got loaned out to a club and they had a space for him out wide or behind the striker etc. it would be better than him sitting on the bench.

Indeed, the rules couldnt let that happen. A loan will be needed next season though.

Not really. Playing out of position is just as bad as not playing. In either case your not really learning anything. Plus a team must be mad if they loan Lukaku only to shunt him wide or play him in the hole. Its akin to playing Drogba as a winger or in the hole.

Cant really blame him for moaning about it. He hardly gets chances and when he does, he is played out of position. He confessed that he did not learn anything through this

When your at that age you need match experience, being versatile is a great trait to have, it would do much better for him than being sat on the bench...

Your confusing two issues here.

There are not many players that are versatile. If you want to train someone to be versatile, then he needs to have specific qualities. Lukaku has qualities which make him only suited to a Centre-Forward Role.

Let me give you an example. Lukaku is very Drogba-like.. Strength, good finishing ability, can hold the ball up etc. He does not have the pace nor flair to do an effective job on the wing. Neither does he have the vision, awareness or passing to play in the hole.

Notice some of the intangibles I listed. You cant really increase his pace or instill flair in him. Neither can you do much to improve his vision or awareness.

Therefore, due to this he is not a player who can be versatile. Even if it is a great quality to have I can list you many top players who are not versatile. Didier Drogba for starters. They are players specificially suited to play a certain position where they excel. Any other position and they are pants. Not entirely their fault

Plus match experience only works if you ware being utilized in the correct way. According to your logic, Manchester United should play Welbeck in any role.. even as a Centre-Back just so that he can be on the pitch because according to you thats better than sitting on the bench
