Whether they want him or not is a bit of a secondary issue. Right now there is no other manager availiable who is better suited than RDM

Pep as you mentioned will probably take a break. Mourinho has signed a new contract at Madrid. Klopp will not leave Borussia Dortmund. Unai Emery is off to waste his talents in Russia. Doubt Lambert or Martinez will even be considered. Van Gaal is mental and it looks like he off to Anfield anyways.

So right now its not like Roman has a myriad of options to consider. The only thing holding Roman back I suspect is that he still feels he can tempt Pep otherwise RDM would have been given the job by now.

Also I still have a inkling that along with exhaustion, Pep may have suffered from a lack of motivation. He has already won everything he can at Barcelona, maybe he wants a new challenge and that also played a part in his resignation

Yeah but just because he loves Fiorentina does not mean he will not leave for a better club if the opportunity presents itself.

Yeah Manchester City already have a great team so I think they will focus on getting rid of the deadwood players before they buy anyone. Although quite worryingly their team is still heavily reliant on David Silva and Yaya Toure being fit and on form

But it didnt though. He mainly talked about the exhaustion, and what Roman feels is irrelevant to the fact that Pep doesnt want to start yet. For a year. Besides Roman isn't stupid The question is if he wants to wait a year or not, and that is what would be slowing the decision, give Di matteo one year, and try for Pep, knowing it isnt guaranteed, or give him 3 years. Also Pep is fiercely loyal to Barca, they did not want to lose him, if you think that he would suddenly turn around and join a club after saying he was leaving to take a long break, then you misunderstand that man. That or he is very two faced, and given the way he has been all his career, i'd go with the former.

But you assume that Fiorentina will just let him go easy. They wont.

I think they are waiting for Euro's and then try to snap up star players from there.

Not saying they will let him go easy. Just saying they will not be in a position to dictate terms especially if Jovetic is desperate to leave as we can offer him Champions League Football. They do have him under contract till 2015 but will they want an unhappy player on their books?

But they are in a position to dictate. You assume that he would immediately be unhappy. When in fact he has been very happy at Fiorentina and is in no hurry to go anywhere else. Clubs have been watching him for sometime, and he seems to shrug off their intererest.

He has said many times this year that he is happy to stay even when it showed Fiorentina had no chance of CL qualification. They stood by him when he had his long injury. Also he's contract is until 2016.

Can't we just agree that he is big headed.. regardless of whether he was a United/Chelsea/City/Milan/Inter/Barcelona/Real/Arsenal player? Who he plays for is irrelevant.

He is arrogant, bit more than other players but certainly not to the degree some people like to claim
