As in whetheer they want him or not.
And again its not about any challenge. That doesnt actually matter. he is exhausted he doesnt want to anything with football at all for this coming season. Nothing, zilch. He wants a years rest, and then as he had said, after that he could be lured back to the sport. so thats 2013-14.
Whether they want him or not is a bit of a secondary issue. Right now there is no other manager availiable who is better suited than RDM
Pep as you mentioned will probably take a break. Mourinho has signed a new contract at Madrid. Klopp will not leave Borussia Dortmund. Unai Emery is off to waste his talents in Russia. Doubt Lambert or Martinez will even be considered. Van Gaal is mental and it looks like he off to Anfield anyways.
So right now its not like Roman has a myriad of options to consider. The only thing holding Roman back I suspect is that he still feels he can tempt Pep otherwise RDM would have been given the job by now.
Also I still have a inkling that along with exhaustion, Pep may have suffered from a lack of motivation. He has already won everything he can at Barcelona, maybe he wants a new challenge and that also played a part in his resignation
