Marseille President confirms Chelsea have made a bid for Cesar Azpiliceuta. Deal to be done by the end of the week for 9m Euro's

Its a good deal in my opinion. Azpilicueta is the best, young RB out there at the moment. Even though he still needs to develop more, you can't go wrong with 9m Euro's and he should improve plenty at Chelsea. Also he will probably just be covering for Ivanovic anyways. This deal would again fill another gaping hole in our squad

Also Ruben Loftus-Cheek is signing a pro deal. This is excellent news as he is very talented and there were rumours that Barcelona were sniffing around last year. Tireless Box-to-Box Midfielder.

Is that 100% true?

This evening my source has said to me the deal is done all but a medical. Could be finalised by Friday.

David Luiz is ******* retarded.. has retweeted 218 times in the space of 1-2 hours. You know those type of tweets people sent to celebrities begging for a RT because it will 'make their day' or whatever.Apparently retweetper minute count was 5 during this barrage. :O

lol, he got put in Twitter jail. I love David Luiz, but I hope he doesn't do that again any time soon! Otherwise, I may have to block his retweets. I did that with Josh a while ago.

I've been watching Brazil cuz I love sexy samba football, and I gotta say that Oscar in final third is great! Such vision and flair. He's fairly quick and has good upper body strength. But.. he sometimes forgets his man and just stays forward. Quite often oppositions makes a chance because no-one is expecting that player to be free. Nothing that can't be fixed.
Yes! Oh god yes. But he was brought to be CM. You can't be CM if you are not capable of tracking back. At least not a good one.Dictate tempo, yes. Run on wings to help wingers, yes. But sometimes he just forgets his player and then problems starts.

Hmm, I see what you mean, but he does track back, and has good work rate, and when he's in the middle of the pitch he does win the ball back well, but when he's near his own box he's poor defensively.

Otherwise thats 25m British Sterling Pounds down the drain

It was €25M not £25 (well, that's not official, but I'm very confident that is the price). Still a lot of money though! He'll be great though, I'm sure. Well, as long as RDM gets his tactics right!

I wouldn't be too worried because there are lots of reasons for it: team sporadically joining together, new systems being played, new players trying to find their feet, players not fit from long summers.the main issue today was that the players heads were all over the place, and the system that RDM tried out did not work. 4-3-3 is the old Chelsea, 4-2-3-1 is the future. What I will say is that Ramires should not be played as a right winger, he has no skill to get past his man and as soon as someone stands in front of him, he is stuck. we need a new RW and I want to see the ram back as a bombing central midfielder. Hazard's performance was worrying though, he looked absolutely clueless..

Hazard wasn't that bad. He needs to be playing in a system that suits him. The two systems we've tried so far do not suit him, and I've got to say, I'm not impressed with RDM so far. I still have faith in him, but he needs to change his ways and quick. Judging by his comments today though, he won't be doing any time soon. I agree that Ramires should not be played RW. I have said this all along, but he's not that good in a double pivot, either. So, we should go back to 4-3-3, IMO, but certainly not the way we played vs Brighton. Against Brighton, it was more like 4-1-4-1 and when we played '4-2-3-1' it was more like 4-4-1-1. The problem is, RDM is playing the supposed wingers way too deep, alongside the rest of the midfield, making our play rigid. All that does is shackle our creative players, and make the chances created for our striker limited.

From what i know the deal is very much on the table and closer than people think. I said this last week and then Hulk come out with some comments about Chelsea and potentially playing for Chelsea a few days after which backed up my reports.

Well, those comments he came out with were actually from around June, I believe. So, even though I don't think there's no chance of Hulk, I don't think those comments make any difference.

BTW, nice to see David Luiz (also seen her pictured with Piazón, too) is helping Oscar's wife settle:

It's good to have somebody like him who makes sure everyone settles in well, especially the Portuguese speakers.

Also, make sure to follow Kevin De Bruyne on Twitter - https://twitter.com/DeBruyneKev - He doesn't have many followers!

Loads of interesting transfer gossip today....

Marseille President Vincent Labrune confirmed today that 'Chelsea have made a serious approach for Cesar'

Marseille are apparently holding out for 8m pounds and due to the absence of quality RBs in the market at the moment, I fully expect Chelsea to get the deal done instead of drawing it out.

Also we are apparently going to buy another RB not named Azpilicueta. When we bought Deco, we also bought the partial rights to a young Fluminese RB named Wallace. We look set to purchase his full rights soon according to Sky Italia.

Graham/Stephen over at WAGHN don't reckon he is Chelsea material yet although many people in Brazil say he is the most talented player in the Flumese Youth system right now; a club which produced the likes of Thiago Silva and Marcelo

Again would be a good signing and would only add to our dearth of youth talent

Also we are supposedly going to tie up the Victor Moses deal by the end of the week. Quotes from Dave Whelan:

I have spoken to Chelsea's chief executive and they are easy to deal with, we have told them the price and they will come back and agree it or not," Whelan told ESPN.
"We would much prefer the player to sign a new contract and stay but he wants to go to Chelsea and it's a good club so we cannot stand in his way."

I really hope you sign Moses soon so we can send Ryo on loan to Wigan.

Also there's lots of interest in Wallace from all over so he must be pretty good.

You mean when we sold Deco to Fluminense. Yes, I remember him. Hopefully he turns out to be at least as good as Marcelo.

oops... Yep your right. It looked a great deal at the time as we managed to get Deco's wages off the books and secure partial rights to three talented Fluminese Youngsters

Alvaro Perreira looks like he will be leaving Porto after a mixed season. Inevitably being linked with us after we spent much of last summer trying to get him. Had a second look at him and he looks to be incredibly versatile... He can play LB/RB and pretty much anywhere down the left wing as well. With the number of games we will be playing, he could be a very useful signing and the price being quoted is 15m Euro's which is not too bad for a player entering his prime years

Lol... Nice pic which was on the Chelsea website earlier

Excellent by Oscar.. Runs at the Korean defence after winning the ball and makes a beautiful pass to set-up the Brazil goal.

Indeed. Awesome stuff by Oscar in the first half. The lad just never ceases to amaze me. Nice stuff.

The typical commentator quote has been said about Oscar. "but can he do it on a cold January night against a physical team".

It's pretty apt given Brazilian players in England. Just look at Ramires, Anderson, Lucas etc. All took time, all looked very poor initially.

I think the clear difference is the boys footballing brain, it's clear to see he is a different kettle of fish when it comes to that and that could help him in England.

Not really, Lucas is a very intelligent footballer, as is Ramires. Just because he is an attacking player doesn't make him more intelligent in terms of football.

It's got nothing to do with how attacking he is. I think its more to the fact of how versatile and positionally aware he is already.
