I was talking about the Neymar comment, How does he know Neymar has bad manners, or is this him trying to make himself feel better at the thought of Neymar going to Spain.

oh sorry lol... Maradona is a pure ********, the fella can talk about players being easily tempted by money even tho he is right now managing a Qatar Club ;)

In his first/last season as FC Porto coach, Villas-Boas set the following records:
  • By winning the UEFA Europa League on 18 May 2011, he is the youngest manager ever to win a European competition, at 33 years and 213 days of age.[10]
  • The club record for the most matches across all competitions unbeaten (36). This record was previously held by José Mourinho at 33 matches.[11] Part of this streak was completed by the previous coach of FC Porto, Jesualdo Ferreira.
  • The most wins in Europe in one season by a Portuguese club (14)[12]
  • The most points in a 30-game Portuguese league season (84)
  • The highest number of consecutive wins in the Portuguese league (16)
  • The biggest margin over the second placed team in the league (21)[13]
  • The only team to win the Portuguese league without being beaten aside from Benfica in 1972/73[14].
  • On 3 April 2011, Villas-Boas won his first Primeira Liga, five rounds before the end, by defeating second-place Benfica 2–1 away at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon,[15] becoming the third youngest coach to win it, only behind Mihály Sistka (1938–39) and Juca (1961–62). It is the second time that Porto won the Portuguese league by beating its rival at its home soil, the first time being 71 years ago, in the 1939–40 season when Porto clinched the title by defeating Benfica at the Estádio das Amoreiras.
  • On 22 May 2011, Villas-Boas won the Treble by winning the Portuguese Cup, equalizing Tomislav Ivić (when he won 4 titles for Porto in 1987/88), and making Porto the first (and only) European team to win a treble twice (Portuguese League, Portuguese Cup and UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League).
No dout about it lads, we are getting a fantastic manager and he can only get better.

One season wonder....

Quite Possibly, but he has followed it up for Mexico. ;)

Against teams who are nothing special ;) Nah I am kidding Hernandez is a bit of a beast. Should carry on where he left off from last season for years to come unfortunately for Chelsea :(

A fantastic article on our new man about how the late great Sir Bobby Robson took him under his wing.

The late Sir Bobby Robson was credited with influencing the careers of many footballing greats, and Andre Villas-Boas can be added to the list. Robson would never have imagined at the time that by responding to a letter from a young Villas-Boas in 1994 he would be igniting the career of someone now regarded as one of Europe's finest up-and-coming managers.

Villas-Boas is on the brink of succeeding Carlo Ancelotti as Chelsea manager after the Barclays Premier League side announced they "hope to reach agreement with him on personal terms". At 16 years of age, Villas-Boas had not finished his studies when he noticed that Robson, then manager of Porto, was living in the same apartment block as him in Portugal's second city. Robson, already recognised as one of the best coaches around having achieved success with Ipswich, PSV Eindhoven and England, was just starting life at Porto having been unceremoniously jettisoned by Sporting Lisbon despite leading the Portuguese league at the time.

He would go on to win the first of three successive titles that year, but for die-hard Porto fan Villas-Boas, the Englishman was making a big mistake in keeping striker Domingos Paciencia on the bench too often. The youngster wrote to Robson raising his concerns and the UEFA Cup-winning coach responded by asking him to supply data to support his argument. He soon did. Villas-Boas sent back a raft of statistics and arguments pinpointing why he was correct.

Robson was so impressed he offered the Portuguese a trainee position with the youth team's coaching staff, and the rest is history. In the Porto hotseat, Villas-Boas led the side to a treble last season as they won the Portuguese league and cup as well as the Europa League following victory over countrymen Braga. Robson took the youngster under his wing and, sensing his love of the game and of coaching in particular, sent him to Lilleshall Academy in England, where he earned his coaching badges. At 17 years old, he was by far the youngest student in the class. Villas-Boas went on to gain further experience in Scotland and at Ipswich under George Burley, before returning to the Estadio Dragao.

Having learned fluent English from his grandmother, who was English, Villas-Boas jumped at the opportunity to take on the role of head coach with the British Virgin Isles. His 18-month tenure ended after two defeats in two matches though, and he returned to his homeland to pursue his coaching dream at Porto, where he was offered the role as coach of the under-19 side by the new man in charge - Jose Mourinho. Mourinho remembered the attention to detail Villas-Boas had wowed Robson with and promoted him to the role of opposition scout.

Villas-Boas took on the mantle of the club's super-sleuth, compiling thick dossiers on the team's next opponents by sneaking into their bases to watch training sessions. "It takes me four days to put an entire file together," Villas Boas said after joining Mourinho to carry out the same job at Chelsea. "It is very comprehensive. The reports are given to all the players as well as the manager. "The idea is that when the players go out on the pitch, they are totally prepared, so there can be very few surprises during the game." Mourinho described Villas-Boas as his "eyes and ears" and also took him to Inter Milan, but his young apprentice was frozen out of the equation when he revealed he had management ambitions of his own.

The pair do not speak, but Villas-Boas denies he has a problem with Mourinho, recently describing the Real Madrid manager as "the greatest coach of all time". Villas-Boas, then 32, got his first crack at club management with strugglers Academica in October 2009 where he led the rock-bottom team from Coimbra to a respectable 11th-place finish. They also reached the Portuguese cup semi-final before defeat to Porto. A wretched third-place finish by Porto, and Academica's heroic performance in the semi-final defeat, persuaded Porto president Jorge Pinto Da Costa to replace Jesualdo Ferreira with Villas-Boas.

Many doubted it could work but they were soon proved wrong as Villas-Boas led his squad to six successive wins in his first month in charge despite selling key players Raul Meireles and Bruno Alves. Villas-Boas continued to defy the sceptics and went on to secure the title with five games remaining. A record-breaking run to the Europa League final, and the Portuguese's commitment to playing free-flowing attacking football, also alerted his potential to many suitors on the continent. With his youth, success and fast-tracked ascent into management, comparisons between Villas-Boas and Mourinho are inevitable, but the 33-year-old wants to carve out a future of his own. Unlike Robson, Villas-Boas is determined to have a short career in management, of 10 to 15 years. But if the young manager keeps on winning trophies, it would be daring to bet against the apprentice usurping the achievements of the English master, even in such a brief amount of time.

This man is no flash in the pan and he could be another special one.

dont worry pal... Uncle Rome is loaded lol

See. This. This is Chelsea's problem, what you're doing is ruining your club. You don't win something, so you sack the manager. If VB doesn't win anything in 2 seasons, he'll be sacked. When really, he should be left alone and given at the very least 3-4 years, as your squad needs a massive re-haul

In the 8 years and 7 managers Roman has been owener Chelsea have won 3 league titles, 3 FA Cups, 2 Carling Cups, 2 Community Shields and a slip away from winning the Champions League. I dont know many if any Chelsea fans that would be dissapointed if we went through another 7 managers in the next 8 years if we got the same ammount of silverwere. You have to remember Chelsea have not always been a top club and the real fans still cant believe what we are seeing and we know how lucky we are.

And it is that kind of response and attidude that will mean you fail away, You have to accept now your a top club and a big club, and it is about time you started acting like one. If you wanna stay here for a long time.

All the time Roman is spending money on the club all that shows is his ambition to make this club work. And all the time Roman is around Chelsea will be a top club whoever the manager.

If they haven't got used to Abramovich after 8 years they live in another world! Everyone is used to Chelsea being a top team now like everyone is used to Liverpool being a midtable team. People are not like: "Holy ****, we seriously beat Arsenal!" I think people adjusted after 3-4 seasons. Same thing I hope they did with City. I don't think City fans are worried about relegation any more. It would be sad if they were.

Yer i dont usally read articles like that but thought i would give it a go and enjoyed it alot. What a man ay, telling Sir Bobby where he was going wrong at the age of just 16.

Tell that to FFP... When you struggle in Europe, and i am sorry your squad needs an over haul, the biggest since 2004. Yet you need a manager you can gaurentee will be there when the younger players( he is going to bring in) come to there peak, otherwise he has no incentive to go for younger players, and i am talking about still being a big club when he leaves.. If that is 2 years, 5 years, 10 years or 20 years.

Ever heard of long-term stability? No? oh, of course not, you're a Chelsea fan.
It's this thing that teams like Arsenal, United (and to a certain extent Liverpool) have all had - which has ensured that they have remained big clubs for long periods of time. If I'm being honest, I see Chelsea remaining a big club for maybe 10 years longer? If that - As soon as "Uncle Roman" gets bored, you've ****** it..
