This summers spending shouldn't effect the figures that much as they are being paid over the remainder of their contracts.

Just Azpillicueta alone would put you into negative figures if you included transfer fees in the account, even when you amortise his contract. Even when they're on 5 year contracts, the sheer amount you spent will make it significant.

Future transfers will certainly force Chelsea's amortisations rates up quite significantly.

Money is/will ruin football

The same money that like mike said has been around for 30 years? It's rising because of the popularity of the sport.

But like i say them fees are being spread around the remainder of the contracts. With this years sponsorship money, merchandise, ticket sales and competition money i believe that will be greater than the amount we have to pay out for the lads contracts in a single year if you get my drift lol.

The main aim is to comply with the FFP which I think we will be able to do. Other than that I really could not care less if we turn in a profit or loss as long as success stays on the pitch. Obviously I am speaking of the first 3-5 years in the FFP monitoring period which allows clubs to make losses to a certain limit and show that they are actively working to improve their finances which we are anyways

It's not as big a step as the club is trying to make out, but its still a very good one. Of course mega signings will undo all that work. But then Chelsea don't need to do that if they play it smart. A solid CL run will effectively pay for a good player, and then there is Llorente...

In the long run you are hampered by Stamford Bridge though, there is only so much you can do without a bigger stadium.

Leaving on a free isn't he? If so imagine the amount of clubs who will try prize him away in the summer!

Exactly, and i'd be very surprised if Chelsea were not at the head of the queue. Offload Lampard's wages for example, and suddenly its very difficult for teams to compete with Chelsea.

I personally think Lampard and Cole will leave in the summer, if so then that saves us around 1.2m a month which works out just under 15m a year!!!!!

Not to mention Cole's wages too Mike...seems both him and Lampard are out this summer. Also just saw Chelsea being linked wig Wilfried Bony. Anybody know about him?

Cole I personally would keep, while Bertrand gets better and better. Then in a few years look for cover/competition for Bertrand. Lampard can take much lower wages or leave.

All I know is that he is a team mate of Kakuta, Kalas and PvA.

I know little but has apparently had a sensational season so far.

I can see more reason to keep Cole over Lamps but Bertrand can have cover in PVA if he comes back next season. I don't think Bertrand is far off having the ability to play week in week out.

Hefty bit of wages will be freed up from the release of Lampard/Cole which we should spend wisely.

Should keep hold of Lampard for another 2 seasons. He can still score 10-15 goals per season from center mid. Cant remember the last time Mikel or Ramires did that. And is a great guy to have around the dressing room. Giving Luiz another 5 year contract is madness and Cahill isent world class. After Chelsea get 2 world class center backs they are a force to be reconed with

Lampard won't get that in our new system regardless. He will continue to play against the lets say smaller sides where we will be punished less when he pushes forward and can't get back quick enough. Saying that how can you replace a player like Lampard? Name another centre midfielder world wide who has scored 20+ goals for 6-7 years? It's not about replacing Lampard but about replacing his goals and assists and we have that already. Cahill is a fantastic footballer and actually a very solid defender, maybe we need another centre back yes but i trust Cahill 100%.

1) You don't replace Lampard. Simple as that. He's been an icon for us, but he has to go. We have Hazard, Oscar, and the most brilliant, skillful and creative player since Zola - Mata. Those 3 are absolutely capable of providing assists and scoring goals for us.

2) Cahill? He's been immense for us so far, and at the moment, I rate him above Luiz, and in my opinion, very few centre backs can actually be called world class apart from Thiago Silva and maybe Kompany. Cahill is one of the best in the league, if not world class.

I like Gary. A lot.

So the bottom line is, you are wasting your time writing nonsensical ****, and that's probably the last time I'm wasting my time replying to you.

I was meant to catch the Boro-Wed game but missed it but heard Josh played exceptionally well. Really good to see him playing well and hope he can come back and play some part in the first team next season. Did see this online which is a clip from him this evening, enjoy.
