Guarin happens to be a box-to-box midfielder. We are in for Moutinho as far as I know.

Falcao can be the new Hernandez for Chelsea, says ex-Blues ace Hasselbaink

I thought Falcao was class. :S

I'll save the incredulous United supporters their vitriol: Hernandez is brilliant.

I don't think any of the Porto players talked about could be useful for Chelsea. Only Hulk ! Falcão, you guys have torres, drogba, etc, Moutinho would be a waste of money, Guarin is good but not enough.

Guarin happens to be much more than a standard box-to-box midfielder. He's much more attacking than Ramires, better technically, has a better passing range and has an eye for goal. He has a viscious long shot too, I think he's a great player. He only really broke into the Porto team in the second half of the season but has played in all the key games since, and usually plays in a more advanced position than Moutinho

looks like he is good indeed. but i dont think he is coming :)

You misunderstood me. Falcao is good! But you guys normally only use one striker, and AVB also! So, you have Torres, Drogba, Anelka, .. You'd buy falcao, after 58 millon spent in torres? Lol, that would be admiting a fail. But Moutinho is NOT, good enough for Chelsea's midfield, neither Guarin, I think Guarin can be even better than Moutinho, but Hulk would be quite useful. this has nothing to with me being a Benfica fan. for that matter, I'd like them all to be gone, would be easier for us.

Have you forgot about the goals Hernandez scored against Chelsea already? :)

Mentioned Guarin as a possible target about a month back as a cheaper alternative to Modric (Didn't know he wanted to come at that point, just felt we needed a player like him). As FBP says, he's much more than a standard box-to-box player and was instrumental to Porto's success last season. I doubt he would command a massive fee and could give us a bit of creativity.

dont you understand that Moutinho and Guarin are quite different players? Moutinho is kind of a playmaker from what ive seen. unfortunately ive not seen much from Guarin, but a couple of games. they different man :) And Hulk yes, he will be the master of the ****** disaster on the wings, but he AINT coming, he has a ****** fat release clause which makes him untouchable at this point. But yea Id rather have Hulk instead of Falcao, indeed :)

I've always liked him, and he has come on leaps and bounds this season having been given more freedom to roam forward. I've seen him play in the hole to good effect, and he seem like quite a bubbly character. Could be good for Chelsea, and is a more likely cheap alternative now AVB is manager

never seen him.

He didnt wear it at Academica.

and he brought them from last place to a 11th place finish in 6 months I believe, impressive stuff

---------- Post added at 03:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:21 AM ----------

He didn't win anything either ;) Maybe Chelsea will finish 11th and get to the semi final of the league cup this year? :P

or we may win the Treble this year and go undefeated the whole season, something which good ole Fergie never managed to do ;)

Just saw his first interview and its the first time i have seen an interview from him too and i must say first impressions count for everything and i am very impressed indeed. His English is impecable (much better than mine) and he is already saying the right things.

On the who will he sign thing he will not sign Hulk because of the release clause, if he had any sence he wont sign Falcao either because unless he is going to play 2 upfront we dont need him and he isent the right partner for Torres in my opinion. Moutinho is a deal that could go ahead if the club cant get Modric, and as much as i want Lukaku in a Chelsea shirt if Boas dosent want Lukaku then we shouldnt sign him simple as that.

If he managed that, he should just retire there and then. Bit more competition in our league though, which makes Arsenal's undefeated PL season all the more impressive. I don't think it'll be matched any time soon

In all seriousness though, I think he's a phenominal manager and I am slightly envious. I think he'll do well as long as Roman leaves him to it
