I also don't blame rafa for that or even soaly for recent performances/results. But managers some of the slack and he does not help himself with some of the calls he makes.

Yes Robbie did, but even speaking in hind sight there is no way we would have been this woeful if we continued with Robbie not a chance.

Really, because that's what led to him being sacked.

Well, I was reading earlier on, that Roman was closely monitoring the contract saga with David Moyes which is interesting. More so, as in the next few days we should find out if David does indeed stay at Goodison something I'm unsure about, as he stated the transfer window would determine what he would do.

I don't know about that Jacko, maybe Robbie would have done worse, maybe he would have done better. He didn't deserve sacking but I can see Abramovic's reasoning behind his appointment of Rafa. Shame he is being advised by yes men :/

The only way this was going to work was to allow him to get the few players he (or any manager needed). I mean if the plan was to never back him, might as well have kept Di Matteo. Chelsea had a good chance to improve in Rafa, and amazingly turned it into a lame duck situation. What Chelsea are trying to do is effectively limp into the CL places on a wing and a prayer.

This is my point. Di Matteo, Rafa, Klopp, Emery. all would have the same issues.

There's no way in **** that the fans hating Benitez isn't having an effect on the team though. It's now going from tactical issues to just plain defensive errors, the kind you get when the squad is on edge and uncomfortable. They would still have many of the same issues in regards to balance, but you can't look at those Chelsea players and think they look motivated and united.

Losing to Utd at home could have gone either way, losing to WBA away was not as bad as first thought as they were on a sensational run. Juve away, how many teams beat Juve at their pad? Robbie had one striker to use and HAD to use him, Rafa has two and still uses that one? Genius?

Really hope Moyes doesn't turn he would be ruined I'd rather him to go to Man United who imo would need him more :)

Problem is it's really hard to predict where he'll end up. He's got such talent there's a wealth of clubs after him-the worlds his oyster right now. Germany, some of the biggest clubs in England...anywhere. The fact he can get the extra 25% out of players, spot absolute bargains makes him on the hottest managerial talents going.

He has a point but they why play Torres 3 days after he just played 90 minutes and played the most minutes in the xmas period? Contradicting himself? Or just loves Nando's helmet?

Relatively easy opponent, away game where you've been playing a lot better, maybe he figured even **** striker will do and have Ba fresh for Newcastle? **** knows. 1 goal and assist from Nando in two games is not exactly the end of the world though.

Its all having an effect, its not one thing on its own, its a perfect storm, largely created by the Chelsea heirarchy. This was all 100% preventable even though Rafa was hired. Rafa needed to wins fans over, to do so he needed results, to do that he needed players, the players that the club needed from the start and the type of players he excels at buying and using.

Normal logic: Rafa get those players, we'll give you the money

Chelsea Logic: we'll wait till the summer, and fiddle while Rome burns....

No it isn't your right and i wouldn't have moaned about him starting Torres if he doesn't keep using the "players are tired" excuse. What is he saving Ba for the Europa league? Because he can't play in that!

I accept from Mike that he has not got the players needed to play this formation agreed. But like i keep saying switch it then. He could have played a 4-3-3 tonight with Ramires, Oscar and Lampard in the middle and Mata and Bertrand out wide obviously with Mata floating. Yes it would be unbalanced but less unbalanced than 4-2-3-1 at the moment. If i can see that someone who yes holds a major interest in the game and manages a sunday league team but with no coaching badges then surely someone who is paid thousands of pounds can see it?

Can't imagine Torres is too tired considering he's spent recent weeks moping around on the halfway line feeling sorry for himself.

Agreed, and our decisions have been absolutely clueless. Honestly, when we sacked RDM, I thought we must have Klopp/Emery/Pep lined up because getting an interim manager in seemed like the stupidest idea. At the time I figured that we were trading in potential for proven quality and now I'm watching us throw away a 2-0 lead to Reading.

Rafa needed to wins fans over

This is the problem. He was never going to win 50% of our fans over. Ever. It was never a logical choice because it was so obvious how people were going to react and what a seething cauldron of hatred it would create.

I added to my previous post. I always assumed that was the plan. If that was never the plan, what was the point in hiring Rafa, or any other manager?

I warned my other half when i met her how i would die lol. Will be lucky to see March at this rate!
At army had a laugh with mates and went to see handreader. Said that I will die at 27 so one year to go. Maybe I will see Arsenal lift a trophy then and get heartattack from it?
