Can't imagine Torres is too tired considering he's spent recent weeks moping around on the halfway line feeling sorry for himself.

True lol, to be fair to him first half he was average again but worldy pass for the goal. 2nd half first 10-20 mins he looked sensational..........out on the right wing!

Hey, i think we all agree Robbie's sacking was very harsh and propably a bit premature, but you have to consider the fact Roman really never wanted him to begin with. He got a chance but he had to dominate if he wanted to keep it. Turned out quite differently so he got the boot.

Roman was waiting for any slight dip in form to sack Robbie of course he was, classless mate really is.

One thing i havn't said and should have but was too angry is im not sure we have and reading fans on here but ******* well played to them! You really have a gem of a player in Le Fondre, super subs are hard to come by and such a valuable assist.

This is the problem. He was never going to win 50% of our fans over. Ever. It was never a logical choice because it was so obvious how people were going to react and what a seething cauldron of hatred it would create.

You know, i don't think anyone could have anticipated fan outrage of this magnitude. The board propably figured people should be able to understand that whatever Rafa said or did in the past, he was just a professional doing his job. Don't think i've ever seen so irrational fan behaviour in my life. People raging because player went to a rival club? Sure, but manager? For god sake, Trappatoni and Capello managed half of the top clubs in Italy , they both won the league with all of them, and i've never heard about any drama that would even resemble Rafagate.

Errrrrr...

A lot of people predicted it. Like I said about a month ago in this thread, I think that people that don't support Chelsea realise how much we really, really don't like him, so maybe it wouldn't have been anticipated from the outside but it was obvious to us.

I'd hate for some billionaire ***** to take over Wigan. Most clubs would kill for a chairman like Whelan! Most? All clubs! I feel sorry for Chelsea, as much as I dislike them haha. I hope RDM is offered the job again but puts two fingers up at RA, then takes another team to the Champions LEague final, meeting Chelsea and thumping them by the biggest European Cup final margin, ever!

There are cultural differences. You just don't change from Barcelona to Real Madrid.

Okay, get out now.

Luis Figo.
Among others...

Luis Enrique, Ronaldo, Saviola, Laudrup, Eto'o, Haghi, Prosinecki, Luis Milla, Bernd Schuster...

Granted, some of them had a club in between (Haghi, Eto'o, Prosinecki...) but you get the idea. It's a rare occurrence but it's certainly not unheard of.

Yup, think there about 30 players who have done it? And thats just one pair of clubs. Havent even begun to view it in the wider context.

Luis Figo.

And there were no bitter feelings there at all...

Not to mention that this isn't just as simple as changing to another club, this is changing to a club that you have criticised, belittled and ridiculed in the past.

yeah they got over it. And we are talking about Real Madrid vs Barca there

Ridiculed? Hardly.

Heh , yes - i know YOU predicted it, but i can totally see why suits at the Bridge didn't.

There are cultural differences. You just don't change from Barcelona to Real Madrid.

That goes back far in time to before world war 2 and beyond when goverment based in Madrid would hold military rule over Catalonia.

Hardly compares to being so butthurt because of some offhand comment about plastic flags.

Barely. Most cules I know still have a lingering dislike for him. Over time, seething hatred lessened but it's not a simple case of getting over it. I think a good example for you here would be to look at how many of us would be heartbroken if Jose took over United.

Ridiculed? Hardly.

Rafa Benitez said:
We don’t need to give away flags for our fans to wave – our supporters are always there with their hearts, and that is all we need. It’s the passion of the fans that helps to win matches – not flags.

Why not? There was anti Rafa chants last February when AVB was sacked and he was linked with the job and that doesn't change! This outrage was always going to happen and continue to happen whether he was winning or now.

Come on that is hardly ridicule. Even so, Chelsea as a club have managed to spectacularly screw this up.

Rafa walks in, looks at the lack of balance in the side and says "this club needs players"

Chelsea heirarchy "no"

Rafa "can we bring back the players on loan?"

Chelsea heirarchy "no"

Rafa "so what do you want from me?"

Chelsea heirarchy "play Torres"

Rafa "but Torres isnt the issue?"

Chelsea heirarchy "Torres is always the issue"

Rafa "....."
