What a big 3 points. Just need that win against Spurs now!

It's still something. I agree, but he was the main reason you won the title.

It's meaningless. It's useful for news sites to clock up some hits and fans to argue about others being a one man team.

Prove it? Yes, he makes our team better when he plays. Just like Mata makes you better, Messi to Barcelona etc. If you take away any teams top striker, they're going to do considerably worse (except Chelsea, ever the exception..). Does he score a high % of our goals? Of course he does, he's a striker, it's what he's there to do. It's like complaining that, shock horror, Carrick plays the most passes in our team. Every player is put in the team to perform a function, and you only win as a unit. It's insulting to the rest of the team to claim we wouldn't win without him.

But Bale is not a striker is he? Forget United for a bit, and btw, I didn't say you wouldn't win the title without him, therefore I said "probably yes or probably not", you can't guess what would have happened if there was another striker, maybe you would have still won it anyways. We are just guessing here. Yes, every team has a player that is extremely valuable to the team and when he's not on form, or let's say, not on the pitch, the team fails to perform/win. Second most valuable United player is exactly Carrick. So, saying Persie has won you that many points just goes to show that he has helped you a lot this season. The last part is rubbish. United deserved to win the title because they were the best team this season, not because Persie scored those goals. Lol.

Not going to lie but that was such a poor game of football, arguably the most tedious of the season so far. Both teams passing was Sunday league standard, our final ball was rushed or the wrong ball BUT........ DO I GIVE A ***** ABOUT ANY OF THAT???????? DO I HECK!!!!! Performance means absolutely nothing at the moment, the points is what matters and to see my Spurs mate status on Facebook has made it so much better! I am never confident anyway but when i saw the starting 11 my confidence levels dropped to an all time low! Luckily for us today Utd were absolutely woeful and seemed to be on their holidays already. On Luiz's today i thought his performance was captain material from start to finish capped off with a cheeky grin and a red card for Rafael. Said to my brother with 30 mins to go that this game is easier to win than Wednesdays and if we could nick it then a draw Wednesday would be significant. UTC and roll on Wednesday!!!

Just want to focus a little on the Europa League Final and something i heard a few years ago about our opponents Benfica. Back in 1961 they had a coach named Bela Guttmann who was a bit of a character. He previously got sacked from AC Milan despite being top of the league after a few arguments with the board and in his press conference he said "i have been sacked even though i am i am neither a criminal or homosexual". On arrival at Benfica he sacked 20 senior players, he's personality has been likened to the special one Jose Mourinho.

Back to 1961 and in this season he led Benfica to their first ever European cup beating Barcelona. A year later and he guided Benfica to back to back European Cups this time beating Real Madrid he had proved he was something special. After that second consecutive European Cup win in 1962 he went to the board and asked for a pay rise, something which the board rejected. Guttmann ended up leaving Benfica because of this reason. When he left the club he allegedly cursed the club by saying "not in a hundred years time from now will Benfica ever win a European Cup".

Since these words Benfica have reached European Finals in 1963, 1965, 1968, 1988 and 1990 losing all 5! Even before the final in 1990 which was staged in Vienna the resting place of Guttmann, Benfica president and legend Eusebio prayed at Guttmann's grave and asked for the curse to be lifted, this was unsuccessful!

Lets hope the curse stays in tact for another year!

Massive 3 points. A win against Spurs should seal a Top 4 spot for us I reckon

He also said! And a portuguese club will NEVER be european champion twice.
Porto did, half of the curse is lifted, it's time for the other half...

A win against Spurs will do it almost definitely. Id take a draw right now though for sure.

What I would do:

[TH="colspan: 6"]Wednesday 8 May 2013
[/TH]

19:45
Chelsea v Tottenham

Win against Spurs (which means give 101% on the pitch and win the **** game; playing at the Bridge, fans making it hard for Spurs etc etc.)

[TH="colspan: 6"]Saturday 11 May 2013
[/TH]

12:45
Aston Villa v Chelsea

Rest a bunch of players, Mata, Hazard etc etc. Play for a draw, if possible.

Then comes 15th and we have fresh legs because between 8th and 15th we've wasted a little less energy. (I'm not underestimating Villa here, but come on, a draw won't be that hard to achieve)

Beat Spurs then top 4 is as good as guaranteed because of our superior goal difference.

Funny that the half that has been lifted is the half that would annoy Benfica fans more isn't it. My prediction is that the game will be settled by 1 goal.

Mourinho was just brilliant in the press conference today. No way he will be remaining at Madrid after what he has said XD

Yeah saw it mate, think he is trying to get sacked that way he gets the huge payoff.
