Does Parker play like a 30year old?? Does he lack energy?? No exacly that, the lad is proberly in his prime and could do a very good job for Chelsea. West Ham get him off their wage bill for a season while netting a little profit with a loan fee too and then get him back when they proberly are back in the PremierLeague next season. And if West Ham dont end up getting promoted Parker's price wouldnt have dipped much and they could sell him for a decent ammount. I dont see a problem with this at all.

Or they could him and use him to fire them back up, or actually sell him for a proper fee = retarded from west ham

Meanwhile Chelsea couldthis last window befrore FFPR to get a player who could fill the boots of both Modric and Essien, and benefit them for the short, medium and long term, instead they as usual think short term and move for Parker = retarded from chelsea

Well maybe they want to trim their wage bill?? West Ham still want to sign players so they want to make some money and try and keep hold of him too. And whats to say Chelsea wont sign Parker and another?? One thing we lacked last season was depth at key times, Parker on loan could replace Essien and then we still may bring in someone else too.

You get very little money from a loan deal, not enough to cover the loss of your best player, Parker isnt going to come back to sit on the bench again

Who says he will? If Chelsea loan out McEachran this season we will only have Lampard, Mikel, Benayoun(injury prone) and Ramires to cover 5 positions! The ammount of games Chelsea play we need atleast 6-7 centre mids. We get Parker for a very small loan fee and sign another for the long term too which also gives the new player a year to settle if its needed.

Courtois developments:
He was in in Chelsea last week," Thierry Courtois revealed to HTVB. "I think Chelsea and Genk have reached an agreement. Tuesday we will come and talk about the transfer."

It has been claimed that Courtois will be allowed to return on loan to continue his football education with Genk and his father confirmed a return to his homeland could be a viable option, though he insisted a permanent stay in Belgium is now out of the question.

"Maybe Chelsea will lend Thibaut to Genk, but a contract extension does not interest us anymore," Courtois Snr added.

Story from the source of his father talking to Belgian TV Monday evening, so I would go on a limb and say we should know the outcome by Friday considering they met to finalise personal terms/medical today.

Chelsea+Genk arranged the deal last Tuesday I'm getting as well, not sure yet if its loan back or stay at Chelsea but his father is in London and talked directly to Chelsea yesterday. (Were both spotted by a CFC member of staff actually at the WWFC friendly behind closed doors yesterday; via twitter)

Looks like Courtois is coming!

= Daniele De Rossi.

I just dont see the point of bringing in Parker at all, use this opportunity to blood McEachran

McEachran needs games and lots of them, even if Chelsea dont sign Parker or another CM he will only get a handfull of games. A loan deal playing week in week out for be more beneficial to Josh at this stage.

I agree we should buy a younger model and a creative player, in an ideal world though

From what ive seen, getting him games at Chelsea should be the priority, if you sign one mid, i can see him getting 15-20 games, possibly 25, and if he starts half of those thats a big boost

but it doesnt need to be an ideal world. you bid 27m for modric. Vidal is 17m

Yes but I'm not in charge AVB is, he obviously doesn't have the same targets..

The manner in which AVB deploys his 4-3-3 means he needs a deep playmaker who can defend (hence the chasing of modric) Vidal and Moutinho should be on his radar. Not Scott Parker, who i rate as a player just in case people think im hating on him

AVB tactics at Porto:
4-3-3
4-2-3-1

That was basically it but he was very fluid in his changes from game to game, even sometimes using a 4-3-3 with wingbacks pushed up to counter a 4-4-2...

I made a tactics pack for it if any CFC fan wants to test it on FM with Chelsea your more than welcome lol

4-2-3-1 will be with a deep lying PM/DM and 2 wingers/inside forwards who can move fluidly in a sort of front 3 despite it being a 4-2-3-1 it often became a 4-2-1-3, and the 4-3-3 was basically the same as the latter version of a 4-2-3-1 he played but structured different with a DM/Deep lyer/AM in a midfield 3 and fluid forwards who could come deep/stay wide/come inside depending on the situation.

So obviously what do Chelsea lack atm?

A deep lying playmaker, (And a DM to replace Essien...Not Mikel.)
So ideally a Chelsea team would look like:
Vidal-DM
Moutinho-DLP CM
Pastore-CM (Unlikely but I can dream)
RW-? (No idea but Kalou seems to think he will be starting)
ST-Torres
LW- Would love Mata but probably Malouda.

Ivanovic/Cole fit his full back moulds well, one offensive and one entirely more defensive in style.

Anyway I chipped in, Parker would probably play the deep role...

I am seriously worried that we don't bring in a new AM/Attacking CM to replace Lamps because hes older and more injury prone and who will step in?
Ramires is box to box imo, and Benayoun is good but old and not really sure he can win titles...

i agree yossi is old, but maybe he can wake up Torres to score?

Blues won't seek Essien replacement

Thought this would happen, it will just mean Mikel will get more game time but we will push even more now on getting Modric or another CM which we were after in the first place. If that means overspending, I think they will do it.
