MCEACHRAN AND BERTRAND SIGN LONG-TERM

:)))))))))))))))

Delighted to see them both sign. Surprised Bertrand has got a new deal because I rate PvA more than him, but he is a very good left back. I think it's because AVB sees the importance of having home-grown players in the squad. Look forward to see whether it's PvA, Bertrand or somebody else taking over Cole. And att least we will have adequate cover for left back, although I can see either Bertrand or PvA being loaned out to [hopefully] a PL team.

believe what u want, I have better things to do rather than sit here and post all day like u do

Thats actually a very good come back me thinks. *Covering face*

See point is as soon as he signed new contract, you came up with genius quote. Says a lot. Wonder why you didn't think about FFP few days back. Roman is loaded so 26 Million should be a pocket change and he is successful businessman so covering 26 Million should be very easy for him.

Well I could ask what your better things are, hey but I wont. Its none of my business.

Edit: Alcaraz, nothing against you mate. Just pointing out the difference in your opinion before and after Falcao's contract extension..

better things as in a new midfielder to cover for Essien now that he is out for the whole season and the fact that our attack is very good even if we do not invest in it this summer... ym posts earlier were made on the assumptions that Essien was fit so we would not need so many midfielders and would might as well spend 26m on Falcao but right now Midfield has become our top priority so I rather we do not fret over losing a 26m rated striker but try to sign a Midfielder instead

excellent excellent news... Josh has been with the club since he was u and he deserves to be playing more games this season, personally I am happy Betrand signed a new deal, it will be good having him and PVA fight it out for the left-back slot

Btw anyone thinks we will not be signing a new RB because Todd Kane looks very promising indeed and I have high hopes for him

well see this:
Was going to post this last night but the internet went off...

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this already and I was going to AGES ago, but forgot. Anyway, it's a piece on Lucas Piazon and his move to Chelsea, also a video message for the fans at the bottom. Interview with Chelsea signing Lucas Piazon – full version « Pitaco do gringo's Brazilian football site

Also unsure whether this has been posted, but...today websites (unreliable ones, but I think there's some more reliable Brazilian ones reporting it) have been reporting that in the Deco deal Chelsea were allowed half the rights of three Fluminense youngsters. So Chelsea sent a scout out to watch them and picked out Ronan (left back), Wallace (right back), who Wenger was reportedly interested in and Pernão (striker). This means that we own around 50% of their rights and will have the first option for buying them after their 18th birthday. This was reported in the Brazilian media who were told all of this by Ronan. When we were battling with City for Pernão it was reported that we had got the first option for signing him, but I don't think it was revealed that it would be a part of the Deco deal.

I have heard good things about all three and they are all very highly rated, but I haven't watched them myself. Obviously FM isn't always that accurate, but here are the screenshots of Pernão and Wallace just to give you an idea of their best attributes and their position/s. Ronan wasn't old enough to be on the game at the time of release, I believe.

is it just me or does Lucas Piazon look strikingly like Kaka from afar.... just realised that he can speak decent English which is very good as it will help him settle straight away, I hope he can come and train with us for a period of time this season especially during the PLM so he gets a feel of how its like training with a top club while they battle for the title and get to know his way around the club... have very high hopes of him, I think he can play in our first team as soon as 2013

McEacharan to hit the top (1:17)

15th July 2011
Chelsea's former assistant manager Ray Wilkins is tipping Josh McEacharan to fill the void left by the injured Michael Essien.

i hate how SkySports misspell his name. its McEACHRAN ffs.

Porto's prolific Colombia international striker Falcao has agreed to extend his contract by two seasons until 2015. Chelsea had been heavily linked with a move following their appointment of Andre Villas-Boas.

Although i would have been happy to see him at Chelsea (if Anelka or Drogba left) i dont think Boas ever wanted him. I think it was just putting 2 and 2 together and comming up with all sorts.

Seems Chelsea are still in for Romelu Lukaku as Anderlecht chief Herman van Holsbeeck is set to arrive in London for talks with Chelsea via SkyGraemeBailey

Would be happy to get him as a long term Drogba replacement. A handfull of appearences say 15-20 next season would do him the world of good.

Very very good news for the club. Two wonderful talents especially Josh, i would expect a loan deal for both of them this season maybe not Josh but definatly Bertrand. Any team around at the moment would love to have two young talented left backs like we have. Although i prefer PVA, Bertrand does have some better qualities like crossing and defending.

I like Toddy alot but it seems to me he is better playing a little further forward. Hes long range shooting is magnificent and i think he needs to learn abit more defensivly if we want him to play right back.

This isnt really about Chelsea football club but its kinda got something to do with the club lol. Anyway somebody my uncle knows husband has named their new child Chelsea Drogba hahahahaha. Chelsea as the first name is not bad it is a girls name but come on Drogba afterwards? XD

The club has awarded professional contracts to five second-year Academy youngsters - Amin Affane, Jamal Blackman, Todd Kane, Archange Nkumu and Daniel Pappoe. Academy manager Neil Bath has spoken with the official Chelsea website about each of the players and the challenges that lie ahead.

Amin Affane - two years
Midfielder Amin made 18 youth team appearances last season, including one as a substitute in the FA Youth Cup, as well as appearing once in the reserves. 'Amin's challenge now is to progress into the reserves. He did okay last season, for someone who has come in from abroad and had a first year getting used to the culture, environment and intensity of football, he has been positive in the way he responded. Now he has to kick on and try and establish a run of games in the youth team to push on into the reserves.'

Jamal Blackman - three years
Goalkeeper Jamal made 31 youth team appearances in total, and was an ever-present in the run to the FA Youth Cup semi-final, turning out twice for the reserves. He stands 6ft 5ins. 'Jamal's progress has been very good. He joined us as a first-year scholar last year but towards the end of the year was playing in reserve team fixtures, and showed a very good attitude. Jamal is very much improved considering he came into the system quite late, and we are really happy with his progress to date, which is why he has been offered a three-year contract.'

Todd Kane - three years
Another Youth Cup ever-present, Todd made 24 youth appearances in total, scoring eight times. He also smashed home from distance at Stamford Bridge in the reserves' play-off final against Blackburn. He played 14 times for the second string in 2010/11, mainly from right-back but also in midfield. 'We've been really pleased with Toddy's progress, becoming a regular in the reserves as a first year last season. He's done very well, when joining as a scholar he was offered a two-year professional contract but because of his performance and his attitude it was increased to a three-year contract.'

Archange Nkumu - two years
Central defender Archange made 25 appearances in the youth team during 2010/11, three of which were in the Youth Cup. He also appeared four times in the reserves. Archange started last season very well and was rewarded with a professional contract. He is a quiet lad, and this year has the challenge, where others have moved up to the reserve group, of doing the same because he could be frustrated at still being a part of the youth group. he now needs to show the right mentality to progress into the next group up.

Daniel Pappoe - three years
Despite injury problems, Daniel was FA Youth Cup captain, and appeared just eight times in total for the youths, five of which came in that competition. He also made nine reserve appearances out of 21. 'Danny had a mixed year because he had several injuries. As we know he has very good leadership skills and qualities and has proven he can play men's football in the experiences he has already had. Unfortunately he has had some setbacks and his new challenge will be to get a run of games and staying clear of injury which will help him.'

Good to see some of out acadamy lads getting a new deal, i havnt seen much of Nkumu and Affane but the other 3 lads have alot of potential especially Toddy Kane.
