Yeah Drogba wasn't chasing things the same. Apparently he was there, waiting for proof.

I don't think Mata was at Stamford Bridge.

His dad was in London today talking to Chelsea, so I suppose a Mata was at the bridge.

But it wasn't Juan it was his dad ironing out the finer add ons/contract details for Valencia/His client (son) Juan.

Very very shaky performance from us...

Firstly we started the game so slowly, kept passing the ball around as if we were playing in the local park, well someone was going to get frustrated and steal the ball of us eventually... enter Shane Long, unforgivable mistake from a experienced seasoner like Alex

Defence was terrible, loads of times we were carved open in the first-half, if our defence performs like that against Man United in 3 weeks time, god help us... on the positive side we improved in the second half defensively, I honeslty thought we missed Luiz a quick pacy defender who can keep track of Long and Odemwingie

Torres worked his socks off in the first-half, credit to him really and the way he turned and curled a shot at goal was excellent

Kalou was disappointing, lost the ball in the final third way too many times and was generally out of sorts

Drogba and Anelka good in patches I suppose

I think what our problem was that we were doing a good job getting the ball into the final third but after that we ran out of ideas and it was not helped by our lack of natural width, at least on the positive side, we can be sure of new additions to the squad. We just need wide players who are given the freedom to run along the byline or cut in depending on the situation, Sturridge was granted this freedom and he did well, I am eagerly awaiting his return. Hopefully Mata joins this week, goodness gracious we need someone like him and please sign a Midfielder too...

DROGBA was 'good in patches'?

What patches are you talking about?

Vegetable patches?

he was relatively good considering it was his first proper game this season... but Torres worked his socks off today, was really impressed by his performance he was the only player who kept me from switching off my TV in the first half

ive always said that Mikel is one of the best passers in PL. and knowing what problems he has at the moment and how good he performs, makes him even more priceless for us.

I RATE MIKEL A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funniest thing today - according to my family we should buy Cahill because he's better than Ivanovic, Terry, David Luiz and Alex (who they said he's miles better than) - LOL! I'd have Cahill at Chelsea...as the 5th CB. Presuming Rajkovic doesn't get his WP as expected, even then though I'd rather get a cheaper CB, who still would probably be better than Cahill.

you do know that the role he was playing demded nothing less from him, when did you actually see him making a forward run and trying to split the defence with a pass, no he was more than content to recycle the ball as that was his role so his pass rate is not suprising at all tbh

People praising Torres... really? He wasn't good this game at all. There's a reason he was subbed off.

no offence but it was probably cos ur family saw the mistake by Alex in the match and our generally bull defence and came to this conclusion... I take it they are not that well versed in the game of football even thought they like the game?

Anyways, we have to improve on todays performance and for some reason, Gervinho was at the Bridge watching us play... well I always knew that one day he would miss watching quality football but never knew he would miss it so soon ;)

lol he was subbed off because Drogba offered a more physical presence in the box and we needed that... but Torres worked his socks off in the first half, the amount of times he regained possesion and got himself into good positions was great, shame the team could not give him adequate support

Maybe not this week, but did you see him last week? He played about 4 or 5 very good diagonal passes right to the player's feet. And I don't think you realise that he is told by AVB to play like that.

could'nt ****** agree with you more!..... All West Brom have to do is to congest the middle of the park and we are dead in the water, AVB seems to be relying on his full-backs to provide the width but thats leaving us open on the counter-attack, Chelsea are so one-dimesional sometimes its painful to watch them, we need Mata badly and we need Malouda firing on all cylinders

I was not being bitter or anything mate... I was just explaining to BlueHeart about the role Mikel plays in the team and I have to say, he was solid in this game... infact all 3 CMs looked solid today without any of them standing out

The amount of times he regained possession with an astounding... 0 tackles and 0 interceptions...

My Dad is a football commentator. My Brother likes football quite a lot, I wouldn't call him 'football mad' though.

well mikel is more of a deep-lying playmaker, his job is not to give a killer pass, more likely to start an attack from a deeper position? and the other position of his is DM, which is a well known position.

dont expect from him to do the job of the #10/AM, WHICH WE DONT HAVE ATM.......... Thats why we are bidding for Modric?!
