Don't know what to make of the signing of Meireles. Not the midfielder I wanted but he could end up being a good signing.

The ability to step in for Lampard is pretty big. We've been missing that in our squad since Ballack left.

You've got to be realistic here. We NEEDED another midfielder we failed with Modric, Moutinho etc. We SHOULD have gone for Pjanic, but we didn't.

Romeu and McEachran both young, they will play a part, but are not going to win us a title and if we get injuries we could struggle.

Ramires, Mikel and Lampard will play as our regular starters imo. But that means we are definitely missing another player, which is where Meireles comes in. And Meireles isn't a spring chicken, but he is younger than Benayoun, I can see him staying for 1-2 years as a cover player. He's not a bad price either.

In that case, I'm happy with it. A year older, and really didn't play as well as most people thought last season.
