By sacking Carlo, you have turned the club into a bad option for "tier 1" Managers as Subtle put it. By sacking AVB you have put off young upcoming and hungry managers.

exactly that. Carlo was immense. brilliant man and manager. the players were happy with him and so were we. Im still devastated.

Roman is our saviour and destroyer, surely.

I love this little diamond we have :)

Di Matteo has a long highway ahead, as he always likes to say: game by game. see the irony? AVB was always talking about how he would be backed in the summer and he would be given a chance to build his own team, whereas RDM thinks only for the next game and no further. That was the huge mistake AVB made. However, I dont think RDM will be our next permanent manager.

I think it will be Benitez...

If the club want to cut season ticket, membership and merchandise sales then they will appoint Rafa as manager. Its quite simple, Chelsea fans hate Rafa Benitez as you have seen over the last couple of weeks with the chants and banners.

JT out of the city game. ****.

Is a massive loss but Gazza Cahill has been playing very well.

It depends. in our case its not. and why would we want to drop out of the top 4 in order to make that transition? We cant sacrifice either of both, CL football and refreshment of the team. So we need a manager who can make that refreshment without losing CL football AND a patient owner, apparently.

Clearly missed the point. I meant if you have a choice between either, you take the former, as the latter leaves you more competitive in the short run, but relatively less competitive for the long run, leaving you with a greater chance of missing >1 CL spot in the football. In simple terms, would you rather miss a CL now and have a greater chance of them in the future, or keep one now and have a greater chance of missing more in the future? I'd rather keep the young manager with a heap of potential, with whom a season has already been committed to, than needlessly fire him and regress back to beginning work that should have begun 3 years ago.

Of course you want to make the transition without losing CL, but that's an idealistic and not a realistic situation. Especially now there's 6 teams competing for 4 spots. With Liverpool most likely going to be getting stronger season by season and becoming more competitive for the 4th spot, I'd rather sacrifice a CL place now than gimp myself even more for the future. AVB was hired to do a project, you fired him for performing to his job specification.

you know what i'd choose.

Player sets off smoke bomb, gets sacked.

Player shoots work experience person, gets a slap on the wrist.

Double standards anyone?
Obviously.. Sacking Ashley Cole would of been ridiculous, Could you really see England's top LB for the past decade (estimate) being sacked for any reason let alone something so petty?

Mellis probably shouldn't have been sacked but he could have had a few warnings giving more reason for the sack but I dont know anything about the politics behind the scenes so it's just speculation.

Who else would come then? I hate him too to be perfectly honest, but I dont see who else would want to abandon his project for a year(probably two) at Chelsea where he will be sacked undoubtedly.

I hope he does alright against Kun/Tevez/Dzeko.. otherwise I see us torn apart.

Cole has been fined for that, no chance of him getting sacked. He was one of our best players during that time, its like Barcelona sacking Xavi or someone. :D I still dont get why would Mellis do anything like that..

Anyone think Max Allegri could be good choise for new manager? Tactic his using for Milan would suit current crop of your players well I'd think and even better if some positions would be strengtened.

That is the question, i think if Bobby D wins one trophy and finishes in the top 4 it will be hard for Roman to look anywhere else.

Just saw he has 18 clean sheets in 39 appearances for us which is a very good record indeed.

well I dont rate them both, Hilario and Turnbull, but if I had to choose one over the other, I'd choose Hilario any day. Im still puzzled why did we even buy Turnbull.. Its a complete mystery to me. Hilario has a good record indeed, so much experience.

I suspect because he is English but that is the only reason.

I am suprised no one has considered Unai Emery for the Chelsea Manager. The job he has done with Valencia has been brilliant and he has had to cut the wages down in that squad and still gets them qualifying for the champions league even when you have lost players like David Villa and David Silva, quite remarkable really. I would definitely go for him, but I hope he turns Chelsea down because Roman would just sack him after a season or two.

P.S: Look at Villereal, in a similar position and having to sell their big names and cut the wages. They are doing the complete opposite, fighting for relegation when last season they were fighting for Champions league spot.

He has been mentioned plenty of times in the last 50 pages or so
