I was expecting that.
But between having more money, one more goal in this tie... and all the rest.
I know what I'd choose. Anyway, it's not over yet, we play better when sides play open and less cynical, so the game at Stamford bridge might favour us.

Well if you would honestly chose less money and goals, I will eat my hat.

Love the way Sky are dribbling all over Luiz now!!! If you actually watch Chelsea every week he genuinly is very good, like i said before JT has made more mistakes then he did since he has joined without a doubt. Funny how the Benfica fan can't even give us credit for being the first team to stop you scoring at your home in 2 and a half years, was that luck too???

Goes to show the character.

You will have to be better at the Bridge other wise you will get beat again its a simple as that. Come with the same game plan and its good night Vienna.

Back four were solid, we looked like the old Chelsea again.
Mata didn't really turn up but it wasn't a game for him really, we came to get the job done anyway possible which meant defending like the Mourinho days as said.
Ferraira and Kalou played well. Very impressed.

Robbie D is increasing my want for him as full time manager come next season. Top tactics tonight with him keeping the squad fresh and using some squad players.

Perhaps you didn't understand what I meant.
There is no comparison whatsoever between our number of titles and Chelsea's number of titles. I'd rather prestige over money, yes.

For all their possession they lacked ideas. Hoofing in deep at set pieces against Chelsea? If there is one side you dont do that to its Chelsea, they will head it away all day long, which they did.

Like i said earlier in his 7 games in charge we have kept 4 clean sheets. I thought Mata was dealt with very well tonight by some very big physical players.

That has nothing to do with tonights game. You are on thin ground now, its clearly not your intention to discuss the game.

It's something the Chelsea side has always been good at, im pretty sure we have never conceded a goal against the Stoke long throw so why would we against a worse type of one?

Ah, I was wondering how long would it take. Always the same old story, not that it bothers me though.

The warning was to everyone, and yet you are the one who responded. I gave you leniency, even though i could see your intentions from the start. You chose to keep going down this route.

A pragmatic win, can't complain about that considering that's what we've all wanted for a while. I don't like it when people put a team down for sitting back and striking on the counter, it's a perfectly valid plan and Benfica had no answer to it. We were tight and efficient and we looked dangerous on the break and on set pieces. It's not like we played "negative" football and tried to foul them off the pitch and stop anything from happening whatsoever, we were pretty solid going forward , although we need to work on that 2nd man pass (got it out from defence a good number of times, but whatever winger/midfielder got it generally misplaced his pass to the man in the better position)

Benfica played a fairly incisive game but as Neville pointed out at some point in the first half, we pressed well and kept our shape forcing them to play alot of quick balls and to really rush chances. All in all, exciting game to watch, Benfica probably deserved a goal on the balance of things but if things worked that way Liverpool would be 4th.

Even if I do consider that Benfica deserved more, props for Chelsea fans for their win and good luck for the rest of the league, see you next week at Stamford bridge.

We all like to slate a certain Mr Salomon Kalou at times but as these stats im about to produce show he is getting better every season. I personly have always liked Kalou and always said he has a role to play at the club but these stats are quite positive.

Again what i posted just yesterday!!

Even if I do consider that Benfica deserved more, props for Chelsea fans for their win and good luck for the rest of the league, see you next week at Stamford bridge.

It's totally fine if you feel you deserved more from the game thats in your own right. Its the way you said Chelsea were poor you were all over us etc etc etc.

much better than sturridge, I'd make Kalou a starter in every single one of the remaining games in PL. The guy receives one chance/game and scores a goal. just brilliant night.

Funny thing was when Sturridge came on he looked dangerous again and even passed twice when in recent weeks he would have gone for the shot.

As I said before, losing is not the worse. If we had played bad and lost, it would actually be easier to cope with, because we wouldn't have deserved more. When we play well and lose it is obviously more revolting.
I might rephrase that, not exactly poor though! Our attacking play was better but Chelsea's game was pragmatic, what they did, they did well. In champions league, mistakes cost matches very often.
