With Bielsa, you have to totally buy into his philosophy or it simply wont work. I look at the Chelsea side and i see too many egos.
We all argue whether Roman was right to hire AVB in the first place. But once he did, his backing should have been total. He should have stepped in december and said "cross the manager and i will sell you myself". It was always always going to be tough. But players own egos made it tougher, and when you look at the kind of younger calibre he was trying to bring it, for me it was bad decision. You effectively wasted a year, a good young manager, and about £30 million in hiring and firing him.
Bielsa would work if he is given money and time to bring his new players and apply his philosophy/tactics. Once again, in order this to work, Roman must stay away from all football related things.
As I've said several times, I wasnt too carried away when we appointed him, because winning 3 cups in Portugal is not a difficult thing when you manage Porto, im taking nothing away from his contribution and hard work, but seriously.. Portugal is... Portugal. However, I was behind him till the very end, even though he managed to send us fighting for 4th. He made mistakes, no one can deny that either, I was mad at him and probably I still am, but he is a good/intelligent/young manager and he has all the time he needs to win trophies with big clubs, yet managing us so early in his unexperienced career wasnt the right decision he and Roman took, in my opinion. Im with you on that, Roman must have backed him if he had wanted that 'project' to go on. The thing is, Roman as well as many fans(incl. me) dont want to lose CL football. However, I've accepted that we're going to play in EL next season, or at least we have a huge chance to do so. There are managers out there that are capable of making that transition/refreshment without dropping out of the top4, and to be that manager you must possess a massive experience. AVB didnt have that, so probably he shouldnt have had to be appointed in the first place. And egos is something that someone like Bielsa can deal with. AS LONG AS Roman stays out of it. Anyway, Bielsa will not come, thats for sure. still think it will be Benitez, I know that we hate that guy, but Roman doesnt care obviously what we want. Emery is another potential puppet that can be controlled by Abramovich. We will see. Funny thing is, I can hardly hate Roman(for all the things he's done for us), but at times like this I do.
