Chelsea had to defend brilliantly and get luck as well. They did both. Barca very wasteful, surely won't be that wasteful again at the Nou Camp. Quite easily could have scored 5. Very impressed with Terry and Cahill, blocked every shot by Messi. However I still back Barca to win

Nou Camp pitch is much bigger though, great effort to keep them level (despite them missing 4 very easy chances). Cahill was exceptional in the second half, Di Matteo deserves credit for the way they set up.

Maybe this luck in the first leg means it is Chelsea's turn to reach the final... but you have a double hard task next week on that pitch in the Nou Camp, might prove too much.

Oh and Cole > Baines for Euros, that performance proves all.

Not really. Cole has better defensive positioning, whereas Baines is much better at getting the passes/crosses in from wide positions, and Baines is better in dead ball situations-and not to mention Baines can play left midfield too. Both as good as each other
 
Also found it quite funny how most people complain about Barca players, feigning injuries and rolling on the floor but it was Drogba who that the most tonight :P Think Ramires did it once as well

Celebrated like **** after this win, WE BEAT BARCELONA! The defending champions of Europe, still a tough ask to make it through but with a goal, the dark horses could prevail into and in the final!

Well you obviously didn't hear the "Terry has won the double" and "we won 5-1 against the yids" chants then because i ****** well did lol.

Rooney tweeted something like "drogba is a great player but please get up" and then Eboue replied with "barca are the worst of them all, its called experience".



Well on the game we did/had everything you need to beat Barca. Defend well, get some luck and take your chance when you get it. On that sense its a fantastic result and performance by the lads, Messi's best chance was a header from 18 yards and that was because of Gary Cahill who just gets better and better. Terry was well just vintage Terry but Ashley Cole OMG, i think he has been average for a while but tonight he was unreal. The goal was just a thing of class and exacly they way we was always going to score against them. People also seem to forget it was Lampard who not only played the lethal through ball to Ramires but the man who dispossessed Messi!!!! The away tie is set up for players such as Ramires, Sturridge and Torres for me on the counter attack because if we can get that away goal first then its good night Barca. Also a stat Barcelona have never progressed in the Champions League tie after losing in the first leg in 5 out of 5 attempts. Goodnight.

My best moment was when Puyol showed Terry his bad hand so JT squeezed it lol. Shortly followed by JT flooring Sanchez.

Have to say, this was my first match I've seen since stopping smoking on Sunday, and all the diving did nothing whatsoever for my mood swings lol.

And I also have a feeling, with the atmosphere as it is in the Camp Nou, being pretty much overwhelming to opponents, and in some cases officiating, I'm having a sneaking suspicion that unless the officials are strong willed, the crowd could very well influence things. Especially if a Chelsea player taps the foot of a Barca player-or am I being a cynic?
 
I just want to throw a question out there. Why do sides feel the need to leave their big stars out against us? Utd always left Ronaldo out, Spurs leave Bale out and Barca left Messi out tonight. Just makes no sense to me. ;)

Will update that, its Semi finals only before Arsenal fans start saying what about us last season lol.

Nights like this one and the napoli game are the best ones, where all the haters shut up for a few days by the performance of our team.
 
I am happy that Chelsea won, congradulations to them!!! I dislike Barca(hate) LOL! It will be hard at Camp Nou,but i believe they can do it!
