I still think the old guard never gave him a chance from the start, that then reflected on the rest of the squad.

I think they did, as you see our start to the season was pretty decent. Its when he kept dropping Lampard even if he played well and kept picking Meireles over him who was playing absolutely shocking. He also pushed Anelka and Alex aside making them train with the youth team until they left which is no way to go about things. These players are loved immensely by their team mates and the fans so he was a dead man walking from then.

I wonder if we can win all of our remaining games. The only real hard game will be against Newcastle, so we'll see. I've already accepted that we will be in EL next season, but still.. it will be a great surprise if we do manage to get the 4th.

Was going to say lol, 30 years!!! It wasen't about the length of time once he made the decisions he made. Treating Lampard the way he did and alienating both Alex and Anelka was something an un-experienced manager would do. Like i say i hope he learns from his mistakes because he has a lot to offer.

Hardly mistreated Lampard, we've been over this, just because you are being asked to be a squad player, and Merieles is picked over you, doesnt make you mistreated. Only Anelka or Alex could really argue that case. And your senior professionals seemingly acted like children. If they had got on with it Chelsea wouldn't be 6th in the league. You've wasted 30m on hiring and firing him, could lose another 40m on no CL, and the lack of Elite football may harm your choice of player. It's still a year wasted.

It was well documented Alex and Anelka were made to train with the youth side, the youth lads started tweeting about it saying they were buzzing about it etc. He had a chance to make an impact right from the start i.e getting rid of 1-2 of the old guard but he insisted on giving everyone a chance and at that time they didn't merit it. If he got rid of Malouda, Bosingwa and Drogba and bought in replacements then most fans would have agreed and it would have sent out a message to all the players in a better way than he actually did.

For me the choice is obvious, the Piazon/Feruz axis has been integral to our run to the finals no doubt. Piazon the Brazilian with his flair, trickery and swag and Feruz with his unbelievable finishing and off-the-shoulder intelligence

Special mention also to Nats Chalobah... our versatile and athletic captain as well as Jamal 'Big Black' Blackman

He was playing okay and a lot better than Meireles but he kept dropping him, it was like he wanted to have power over him and no matter what anyone things Lampard does not deserve that. He kept quiet in interviews just said "its his choice I respect it" but once the fans got wind of it there was always going to be one winner. AVB went about it the wrong way and i think he would even admit that himself now.

Whilst I do agree with you it was clear to see that all was not well under AVB and it was no solely because of the Senior Players.

Even players like Ramires who many believed were his biggest supporters came out and spoke against him after his sacking which shocked me. Frankly speaking I felt AVB went the wrong way about things on how he treated certain players as well as the fact that he clearly had an agenda against a few of them.

Look at Lampard now. I dont see him moaning when he is benched by RDM which has been quite a few times mind you. When a reporter asked him on the difference between how RDM treated him to AVB he said that RDMs personal touch made disappointment easier to handle

Whilst on the other hand, AVB would give him now reason for benching him even if he was playing well which would obviously confuse any player. Any manager would give a reason to his player if he was benching him particularly if it was a decision out of the blue

I don't see us as gone backwards at all, we have changed the formation to one that suits the younger players and that will build the squad around Juan Mata in this 4-2-3-1. Bertrand has got more game time under Robby than he did under AVB to the point where he gets a well deserved MOTM at the Emirates!!!!! Jon Obi Mikel is getting a lot more game time and has looked brilliant and although he has been around for years he is still one of the younger lads. Looking at this side now its easy to see who needs to go 100% and that list goes as followed, Meireles, Malouda, Bosingwa and maybe just maybe Drogba too. People were saying Terry was past it when AVB was manager because AVB wanted to play a high line which exposed Terry's only weakness. Now RDM has gone back to the deeper line Terry has been playing sensationally AND THIS IS WITH 2 BROKEN RIBS!!!!! I understand its Roman that wants the "Barcelona style" football at Chelsea but maybe he needs to re-think, winning is better than beauty and not winning.

So Mark Hughes has piped up regarding Terry playing in Sundays game quoting "I've not looked that far ahead. He's got a busy week, perhaps he won't play. Let's hope so". Now where does he have the right to say that?? I loved Sparky as a player but ever since he has become a manager he has become a right ****. Leaving Fulham because he thought he was bigger than them, kicking off with managers when they shake hands after defeats and now this. Terry has every right to play and I hope he does, in fact I hope no QPR players shake his hand because you know what happens when people get on top of JT and that is a sensational performance normally capped with a goal.

Even so being able to play a contact sport is still unreal. Slow direct?? If anything we are allowing teams onto us and catching them on the counter with devastating effect. Like I said maybe Roman needs to re-think his priorities and maybe he will if this season ends successful.

It's wrong because of the reason why he said that. He was asked whether his players would shake Terry's hand not if they were worried about Terry's presence. Huge difference.
