Now after questioning the possible deal for Oscar in whether we needed him because he was a number 10 i thought i would do some research on the lad. Now after reading multiple things and watching multiple clips it's easy to see he is not your normal number 10. Just watch this club of him vs Denmark and you will see he loves to drop very deep and control the game from there (Modric like) but also has the ability to cause problems higher up the pitch if need be too.

The only way i think this deal will seem to make sense is if we will play him in a deep lying play maker role and mould him into that type of player. Which if true is a huge gamble.

I just think, with all the players out there, its such a huge gamble at 25 million

Well we obviously got his role completely wrong, i only saw him as a number 10 but its quite obvious by doing searches on him and clips like the one above that he is very versatile.

He looks very versatile indeed. It seems like we can play him as a winger or as one of CM's behind whoever plays CAM.

That video does not show his passing range, which is key to a regista, without a good passing range you won't be an effective one.

The other clips I have seen does, it looks as if he will play deep but not stay deep.

Seems a huge gamble if Chelsea are intending to train him into a regista, which we are assuming they are as you have so many options going forward. Surely there are better alternatives for a similar/cheaper price who already have the ingredients to be a regista.

like??? Like i say he starts off very deep in attacks and ends up further forward, this could end up with Oscar, Torres, Hazard, Mata and Ramires all in the attacking third at the same time, scary stuff.

Looks like good signing for chelsea have seen some clips of him his passing range looks good to me, chelsea look like will have good squad next seas looks like could challenge city or us(united)

Dutch player Strootman?

Maybe so, who's to say he would be a success too? All signings are a gamble fullstop, he dosen't look like a typical regista but looks like a form of one with different aspects to his game.

You mean if we play him as a centre mid not an AMC which is his usual position lol.

I totally messed it up. I meant, If we are to use him as a regista it will be a huge gamble, because of several known factors. If we are to use him as AMC, its a waste of money, as we dont need any more AMC's. Mata, and Hazard there.

I agree, that's what makes me think he will play the deeper role. Looking at several clips it looks as if he can play that role and very well and Fernando Duarte seems to think so too and he would know more than us. Seems like a more advanced regista though, can get forward and do damage aswell. Like i said in an earlier post imagine a forward line of Oscar, Hazard, Mata, Ramires and Torres coming towards you, it's getting me moist!
