In that case lets hope Rafa gets the job and with first decision takes captaincy from JT.

Wouldn't be a bad move in my humble opinion, too much is relied on John Terry at Chelsea. Taking the captaincy away from him would be a signal of intent and may be for the better of the whole club.

If he did I would give it to the monster Ivanovic.

I don't think that'd be a good idea, necessarily. Terry's still the heart and soul of the club.

That's the whole point man, I mean he has been fantastic for Chelsea and will always be a leader whether or not he has the armband. But him being the heart and soul of the club is one big problem considering he is not going to be playing as much anymore due to niggly injuries and fitness.

Maybe it is time to pass the weight of the club onto a future Chelsea leader.

To who? Ivanovic, who isn't even starting?

He's the spiritual leader of the club, a club legend and a fantastic captain. I'd say he should have the job until he either retires or isn't first choice any more.

Good point about Ivanovic, but I have no idea how Cahill or David Luiz gets picked ahead of him.. especially the latter. For me Ivanovic is one of the best CB's in the prem and certainly better than Cahill or Luiz.

A team should perform with or without a captain... Chelsea certainly are not doing that. His leadership is a burden if the team only performs with it and not without. Not only this Terry is not going to be playing at top top level for longer than 2 years, he got found out quite a few times last season.

Hope Rafa doesn't join Chelsea, he'll get them playing great stuff and winning. But with the joke of an owner than Roman is, he won't last a fortnight and won't be allowed any time.

#Chelsea have shelled out £86m on compensation since 04'. MORE than Everton's net transfer spend since#EPL began

Chelsea set to confirm Benitez's appointment imminently.

Rafa Benitez will be the next Chelsea manager

Cue the emotional meltdowns from certain quarters.....

Chelsea Football Club can confirm Rafael Benitez has been appointed interim first-team manager until the end of the season.

Well that doesn't sound like a stop-gap at all...

Next summer is going to be quite a deja vu if Rafa produces some silverware.

Coming in with no support of the fans. The knives are already out for rafa to fail... Should have stuck with RDM

And who knows, Torres might actually remember he is a striker after seeing Rafa's face
