I have no idea, didnt see the goals. But the pivot in any shape in the 4-2-3-1 is key, usually because of the type of player who make it up. Discipline and structure, formed by disciplined players, makes you hard to beat

Certainly not, and Rafa and the players deserve all the flak they get. But its all symptomatic of the same long term issues that have been there since the start of the season.

Just had a look at the two goals and yes, for one at least. First Le Fondre goal came from a through ball that cut out your poorly-positioned two like they weren't even there. Second goal was just an all-round defensive fuckup with a shitload of individual mistakes.

Yes long term issues 100%, but he was bought in for the short term as some saviour to our misfiring striker this tactical genius. Bullcrap. I blame the players for leaving 3 reading players unmarked that late in a game but he is the man who's job it is to motivate this team. They are not playing for him and he needs to go NOW.

Years of no long term planning, and accept short term gain. At some point it has to come to a head. If by some chance Chelsea find a 4-2-3-1 specialist in the summer who wants to join them, they should listen to him, and him only. Stop listening to Emenalo or whoever the **** is advising Roman, because clearly the basic concepts of football escape them.

And be happy that its Arsenal and Spurs chasing you

And replace him with who? You cant motivate basic errors. You cant tactically plan for that. You either do it or dont.

He cant even drop players, because there isnt really anyone to come in and fight for a place. The problem is, since he has no signings, he cant improve the squad, he cant drop many to create competition and motivate people to fight for their places, and he isnt a long term manager who can warn certain player they face the end of their chelsea careers if they dont buck up. You have discord that Lampard is being allowed to walk, and he's not even in control. Without the transfers than the whole clubs needed for all sorts of reasons, the club is just going through the motions.

Its no accident second 45 minutes are usually ****. Very lucky to still be 3rd place all things considering.

and then you got worked out, and the results went wonky... its just not enough when you have even less options than before. For all the Torres drama, tail end of last season had players to make real tactical adjustments, these no longer exist. You wanted to play the most suicidal 4-3-3 ive seen in a while.

Yes Robbie did, but even speaking in hind sight there is no way we would have been this woeful if we continued with Robbie not a chance.

I don't care whether or not Benitez is directly to blame (as in, could he have changed things) but he needs to go, if for nothing else than the fact that the atmosphere at the club is unbelievably toxic at the moment.
