He's quite hardworking, I'll grant you that, but I'd say he'd be more suited being played behind another striker or on the wing since he doesn't really seem to be a class poacher anymore (yes, people are going to mention the goals he's scored this season, but he's just not what he used to be).

He doesn't have to be a poacher any more. He's actually been playing pretty well as a much more complete sort of striker in recent times for us: holding the ball up and winning it in the air, as well as running at defences and using his pace

Eto'o will pose more direct threat to defences, in my opinion, once he adapts to the English game.
How so? Torres did a pretty good job of bullying the last two defences he's played against.

And on the topic of the 'strikerless' formation, I think Sch?rrle would be a good striker - he's got the pace for it and although it can still be improved massively, his finishing isn't bad.

It's not that we don't have the players for it, it's just that it's a tactic that works in a limited niche and requires a lot of effort to pull off effectively.

Yes, Torres is on-form now, but he's still yet to have a long spell of consistency at Chelsea. And I think Chelsea should give the strikerless formation a go once Torres's spell of good form ends, it's worth a try.

Great atmosphere and good performance/result tonight. Was right next to the Arsenal fans. 10 quid well spent.

Finally just watched the full 90 minutes and just WOW! Jose will not sleep from now until Saturday because he has 23 odd players who all deserve and want to play for this club. Everything was absolutely spot on today, the pressing, the countering, the ball retention when we had it and so on a so forth.

When you make 10 changes from the weekends game yet still have that starting 11 and that sort of performance from that 11 it just shows how strong this squad is. Willian, Bertrand, and Mata stood out for me today. To be fair Jenkinson made it easy for Bertrand and Willian by being so ****, how the **** he has an England cap i'm not even sure he would be 1st choice for the nation he turned down (Finland)! Mata's pressing in very deep areas at times was an absolute joy to watch, there is a player responding positively to constructive criticism, a big "f**k you" to all the media who slated Jose for leaving Mata out and questioned him.

I could easily go on for hours writing about us at the moment but i am pretty sure we are all on the same page. I'll end by saying a massive thank you to all 9k Chelsea fans. All i could hear on the radio coverage was your voices which made my shift enjoyable.

One thing i will say is that, ladies and gents Jose Mourinho is well and truly back! UTC!

Willian's work-rate and defensive contribution was fantastic which was surprising ... I reckon we will see a lot more of him this season

When he plays like that he offer more than Schurrle because Willian's passing is sensational too.

You guys are quite excited about beating Arsenal-B.

Hardly Arsenal B, they started with Ramsey, Wilshere and Cazorla who are all in their first XI and brought on Giroud and Ozil later on in the game. I suppose we are more excited by how comprehensively we beat them with a second-string albeit supremely talented side

And Koscielny

Yes, we are excited that our second string beat Arsenal's second string which included their top scorer this season............

Now matter how you try to spin it, your bench completely ***** on theirs. So its a bit weird that you're trying to sell it as some epic victory heh.

Thats the reason why Chelsea fans are happy with the victory because it shows just how strong the team is this season even after making 10 changes to the line up! Feels nice to actually have some depth in the Chelsea squad for the first time in a while.

And that's exactly the reason why we are so happy with the win!!!!

And Ryo Miyaichi and Nicklas Bendtner.

Well we had according to some the worst defender on the planet in Luiz, according to some "what does he offer" Mikel and Samuel "old and past it" Eto'o playing lol.

Bertrand Traore has signed for the club on a four and a half year deal. He looked pretty good in pre season whilst on trial at the club :)

Great news! He was our best player in Asia in the summer.

The exact reason Willian joined us was to get a Brazil call-up and it has happened, totally deserved.
