Eto is pompous tool with delusions of grandeur. I doubt anyone takes him seriously just because he's out barking orders.

Eto'o is an arrogant ****** but he's sort of earnt of it. 4 domestic titles, 7 domestic cups, 4 CL titles, multiple awards and titles in African football. He's definitely an inspiration for a lot of younger players.

Not to mention that at the age of 32, he probably has more energy than half out youth team combined. He pressed the goalkeeper till the 90th minute. His footballing brain is as sharp as ever. Looks like someone who genuinely cares about performing for the club. I really hope we can somehow sell Torres and keep him

If we are to pay insane wages to a striker who is clearly past it for him to remain in our squad ... Can it please be Eto'o over Torres? Guys a leader. Love how he was telling his teammates to focus as he left the pitch with such intensity and the animated discussion he was in with Willain before the second half. Would be brilliant to have on the training ground as well considering his credentials

Lately he has been an absolute work horse! Pressing the keeper and defence at all times, he really has impressed me.

Yep and while he hasn't knocked in the goals as regularly as we would like ... At least he hasn't made us actively worse on the pitch in any match he has played like Torres has done on ocassion. Really nice player to have, I am sure he will improve much more next season if he stays

Was going to do my report last night but really didn't know where to start, well actually i lie i started with the opening of a couple of beers whilst watching MOTD2 and when they ran out went onto the Gin&Tonic whilst watching the full 90minutes on Chelsea TV at midnight.

Ever since Jose came out with the words 19th century football when labeling West Ham's football last Wednesday the haters came out from under their rock to have a pop. All of them finding games in which Jose has "parked the bus" and calling him a hypocrite. Its true he did park the bus in the 2nd leg semi final against Barca but lets not forget he was defending a 3-1 lead. Games at Arsenal and Man Utd this season were also bought up and it couldn't be more wrong. The thing is although a lot of journalists think they know about football very few of them actually understand the tactical side of the game. What West Ham did last Wednesday was put 10 men behind the ball and when they did get possession they didn't break, they never got men forward, they never tried to score a goal. I am not knocking them for that because that was their game plan and each to their own. But when we get men behind the ball we break very quickly and in numbers, that is called counter attacking football not parking the bus.

So obviously the media frenzy had started "i wonder how Jose will play on Monday against Man City, i suspect the same way he just slated" was a sentence i heard/read a lot on various podcasts/columns last week, how wrong they were. The one thing haters always seem to forget is that Jose Mourinho is massively unpredictable and this is one of the things which makes him the best manager in world football. I think most of us were wary of City and their attacking threat but not Jose, he had a plan and why did we/anyone even question it? We all know Jose seems to raise it for the bigger games and that mixed with the way Chelsea Football Club always seem to raise it when being doubted its a recipe for success.

When thinking about a Man of the match i genuinely refused because i couldn't pick one out right player. Every player was playing at a 9/10 for the whole 90minutes with Ramires arguably being the exception. Cech made 2 world class saves, Brana scored the surprising winner, JT marshaled the side, Cahill made block after block header after header, Azpi stopped their quickest player from creating crossing chances, Matic bullied their midfield, Luiz mopped up everything, Willian is still running around the Etihad now, Hazard just took the **** and Eto'o did not stop closing City down. Even when Ba came on when City had a corner, he was bought on to mark Joe Hart who didn't end up coming up for the corner so what does he do? Gets himself at the near post space and he is the one who clears the corner! Every player left everything on the pitch last night, it was a Jose and Chelsea masterclass. And the best thing about it is that there has been a lot of people hundreds, thousands even millions of football fans whether Chelsea or not eating a massive dosage of humble pie this morning.

UTC!!!

I would like a list of Ivanovic's goals. I'm pretty sure more than half of them are vital goals. He seems to always rise to the occasion.

In 1975. He spend last years playing in Dickville FC. I seriously doubt 32-year old arrogant hasbeen can produce anything with his leadership, other then people chuckling when he's not watching.

Inspiration on how to be a ****? You already have Terry for that.

Yeah, I mean, it's not like he scored the winner against Liverpool or a hat-trick against Manchester United.

"Samuel Eto'o is a great player, a fantastic player. It is evident in his playing style."

Mine doesnt need to be convincing, as it was a factual statement. If you think Eto isn't a pompous tool, then you're simply ignorant.

He might very well be a pompous tool ... But from what I have read and seen, he has been nothing but excellent for the club both on and off the pitch. Members in the squad respect and look up to him. His effort on the pitch speaks for itself

Plus as Subtle pointed out, he is an arrogant ****** but not without good reason. Look at what he has achieved in his career and the clubs he has played for. Don't think any player in the EPL can match up to those credentials

Whoa he scored 5 goals, that's basically Batman level of badass. Its not like you have Lampard who scored 200 of them, need Eto to put those young players in place.

Well, "I" don't have neither. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Eto'o is the second top goalscorer this season for Chelsea without starting too many games (he started what, a dozen in all comps?), without top, top wages, and is a hardworker who'll play pretty much anywhere Jose plays him. What's wrong with that?

Without top, top wages? Are you sure about this? I'll admit that I don't know for sure, but I'd put his wages at at least ?200k per week, and that's 'top, top wages' in my book.

He was reported to be roughly either side of 100k when he joined.
