Ofcourse not but the one thing that has really ****** me off was Mourinho only chasing a pretty much impossible to sign Wayne Rooney all summer when there were both falcao and Cavani up for grabs.

Rooney chasing was pointless from the beginning. I still don't get that move. United aren't Arsenal. If next season, we finish 3rd again with no PL title/CL title, I will be ******. But not now.

It's not the best obviously, but better than last. Hence, improvement.

Same league finish as last year.
Worse domestic cup performance.
One less European trophy.
Continue to play defensive football despite [marginally] better players.

On the bright side, you didn't sack a manager this season. :)

Looks like Ashley Cole is going as he was in tears during the lap of honour :( been a pleasure watching the best left back the premier league has seen in a Chelsea shirt true legend.

Hazard won't be going anywhere this summer but in the future maybe? I've always believed since the day he signed he is using Chelsea as a stepping stone to improve as a player, prove him self at one of the best clubs in England and eventually sealing himself an even bigger move like Real Madrid.
The only thing wrong with Hazard's comments after the game was that he said them publicly. apart from that he was correct.

I think it was you who asked if I would have taken Jose, and I said no. This is why.

...considering United's position in the league compared to Chelsea's, I'm not entirely convinced that's the right decision.

It's been an okay season for Chelsea. Not good, not bad. Give Jose time and see what he comes up with that year. Over the top criticism of him now is stupid. He wasn't an unstoppable genius when Chelsea beat Liverpool, and he's not suddenly the worst manager in the world now. Some moderation of expectations and hype is probably in order.

[h=2]Mourinho wants Courtois for No 1[/h] Duncan Castles and Paul Rowan Published: 4 May 2014

JOSE MOURINHO wants to make Thibaut Courtois his starting goalkeeper at Chelsea next season. The decision to bring the Belgium international back from a three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid where he helped to eliminate his parent club from the Champions League last week would effectively end Petr Cech’s decade-long run as Chelsea number one.
Mourinho is also considering cashing in on Oscar, the Brazil playmaker, who he implied has conserved for the World Cup energy that should have been directed to Chelsea’s cause. The manager’s willingness to sacrifice two key players forms part of a plan to create a squad with greater potential to win major silverware.
Chelsea’s commitment to meeting Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations means that Mourinho must raise much of the revenue — and create room on the wage bill — for new signings by moving valuable players out. With at least one striker — he remains confident of securing Atletico striker Diego Costa — a central defender and a left-back on his recruitment list, the Chelsea manager is prepared to make tough choices in his restructuring.
With just two seasons remaining on the contract Chelsea tied Courtois to when acquiring him in 2011, Mourinho believes that the 21-year-old will be lost to the London club if he is not brought back to the Premier League club this summer. Courtois’ long-term value is higher than that of Cech and his salary lower than the 31-year-old, who would also command a significant transfer fee.
Mourinho, who last week criticised Courtois’ fellow Belgium international Eden Hazard as “not the kind of player to sacrifice himself for the team”, has also had strong words for Oscar. “From August to November or December, he was fantastic,” Mourinho said. “After that, he was going down. Some of [the causes] are from the personal side of the man, not the player. He arrived in the crucial moment of the season in a down. Injuries, couldn’t train, was trying to make the game but didn’t . . . I can imagine, in a couple of weeks, he will be in a high and during the World Cup he will be in a high. There are things you can’t resolve.”
He chose to highlight the importance of two other midfielders to the club’s future success. “ If next season we have, for example, a number nine who we decide deserves to be first-choice”, he said, “plus the stability that [Nemanja] Matic can give by being always available and by Ramires not picking up suspensions, then hopefully we can have more stability.”

You shouldn't. Two things to look forward to: TI4 & WC. Life's good man. Life's good.

I support England.

DK winning TI would be good but I'm finding myself with less time for the game recently.

whats t14?

4th edition of the annual worldwide Dota 2 tournament. One of the most prominent eSports competitions (shameless self plug) it's basically 90 dudes competing for $1m.

I think it was you who asked if I would have taken Jose, and I said no. This is why.
I'm still reserving judgement for a while. I do worry about which Jose we got back though.

Looks like Cole might be off. Shame it wasn't announced beforehand so he could get a proper send off

So Cech and Oscar to join Mata on the way out? Hasn't he been the best keeper this season and Oscar was being praised earlier in the season..?

The correct choice. I said I think 2 seasons ago(?) that Courtois should be back at Chelsea as #1 for the 14-15 season. Not earlier not later than that. He got massively experienced in the last 3 years. I will cry about Petr though. Absolute legend and a brilliant role model.

If anything ruined Torres, it was Liverpool continually playing him on battered hamstrings, while being lied to about targets while Liverpool fans jibed at him because they couldn't bear to realise their club could be in the wrong (see also: Reina)

I do actually agree to an extent, but it was strange considering the Liverpool coaching staff said he was still the quickest player in the Liverpool side when he left for Chelsea so no idea why he declined in that sense very quickly

Technically Torres has never been the best and he relied on explosive power and pace. As soon as he lost either it was downhill from there

To be honest I'd say they were bluffing, because he had clearly slowed even at Liverpool

Feel gutted about cole. Can't imagine what I will be like when Terry and Lamps say farewell :(
