Can't see what the problem is with Frank. Why would he, out of some misguided sense of loyality. drop the opportunity to seriously challenge for trophies in the top league? Players are normal people, they have ambitions.

Funny thing how everybody's ignoring the fact that Fabregas pretty much did the exact same thing by coming to Chelsea. Arsenal didn't want him back, so he had zero problem going to direct rivals. Pirlo to Juventus, same thing. 10 years in Milan, Milan thought he was done for, he went for free to Juve and carried them to 3 titles in a row. They weren't loyal to him, so he didn't need to be loyal to them anymore. Loyality is a two way street. Its not rocket science.

This is true. I was very harsh on lamps earlier out of anger but at the end of the day it's the clubs fault he is now playing for title rivals not franks.

So an offer can't be rejected? They forced him to go there??? He could show a little respect for the fans...not going to a title rival..

As controversial as this might be, have we actually be that great this year? Everyone's talking about how unstoppable we look etc etc, but how true is that really? We threw away leads in big games, have laboured breaking teams down again, have generally struggled with our finishing (Costa is a bit of an exception) and have struggled when teams have really gone at us with pace and through balls. Sound familiar?

Chelsea had one thing going in their favor, Injuries. Both Manchester clubs, Arsenal have mini injury crisis or even full injury crisis. I don't want to go in detail about ManUtd injury problems but the nearest title rivals for Chelsea is City and their injury problems are well known too. Kompany missed many games, they don't have fit striker until Jovetic came back. Still they are flying high now and will improve in the second half.

Chelsea have done exceptionally well in the league when you consider all the away games they played but they will be tested when a key player is injured for lengthy time. If Terry, Matic, Costa, Fabregas any of them or at least 2 misses few games then the team's depth will be truely tested. Luckily or with brilliant fitness regime Chelsea have't had the issues to deal with till now.

I'd imagine if the club let Frank go it was under the assumption that he wouldn't directly join our closest title rivals.

Extremely naive in this day and age.

It would be the best if he just shoot himself in the head. Just to make sure he resists the temptation and doesn't disrespect the fans.

Seriously though, what possible reason does he have to reject it? Football is a job, just like any other. When picking job, there are priorities, and not one person on the planet has respect to employer that just fired you as a top priority.

His family is here, he knows the league, he knows the language, he gets to play serious football instead of beach ball comedy in MLS. Its a no brainer that he would take the offer.

Why shouldn't he go? Chelsea wanted him to take a huge pay cut and were ready to give 1 year extension only or in short he was more or less offered to move away from the club to find a new club elsewhere. He went to MLS to start a new chapter but in between he got an excellent chance to play at highest level with world class players and more or less return home. Why exactly he should turn it down?

If he rejected move to Spain or Italy in favor if city then it is understandable, fans frustration. City gave him a chance, else he would have ended up in Indian league in a year. Now he is playing good role in winning PL.

There is nothing called loyalty in football. Chelsea needed him all these years so they paid him very well. In the few years he wasn't good enough for them so they offered him pay cut. Club sell players when they are not needed to save some money and to move forward, likewise players move elsewhere to make some money or to play regularly and save their career.

Btw extending loan deal was pathetic IMO as New York fans bought season tickets when they were told Lampard will play, but now they have bought season tickets with broken promises.

On a more positive note, how fecking good is Eden? For me the best player in the league along with Aguero.

On his day he's just ridiculous. He's getting more and more consistent with every season too. Think we'll see a truly world class player in 2015/16.

I'v been quiet over the past 24 hours regarding Frank Lampard because its getting tedious but i now want to put my point across and finally put it to bed.

Was he offered a new contract with us or not, it doesn't really matter in my eyes. He left, we got 14 assists so far Fabregas as a replacement so everyone was a winner. Lets be honest, if he was still here how many games would he have played? I suspect a handful of appearances probably no more than 5.

This is a man who will our clubs top scorer for the majority of all our lives, a man who was a major part in the most successful era of this club so far. A man who although came from West Ham was known as "proper Chels". A man who spoke to the fans when he could, spoke proudly about playing for this club. He in my eyes is the best player to ever play for this football club and no amount of goals he scores for our main title rivals will change that.

I do however have one gripe towards him now and it something i never thought i'd say about him. He signed a contract with New York FC to start with this new team when the MLS kicked off in March. Although the MLDS has grown in stature in the past 10 years this is a new team who used Lampard as their poster boy, a player who would still season tickets and win over new fans on his own. And now that player a man who for me who has built his career on the word "professional" has let down his employers, his new fans and the people who pay him at the MLS, this is a very unprofessional move.

I couldn't care less if he scores 10-15 goals for City and even wins the title with them because we all know this Chelsea is/should be good enough to win the title without any influence from a Man City Frank Lampard. For me his Chelsea legacy cannot and will never be tarnished, but his professionalism has been called into question which is a massive shame.

Mark Schwarzer looks set to join Leicester city for the rest of the season. Guess Cech is staying until the summer at least then.

He's like Robben with passing ability.

He doesn't have the same level of killer instinct though. Once he really adds that kind of ruthless, predator approach to his game he'll be absurd.

when he gets that good you will be having a call from real

I can't see where he has disrespected the fans. He hasn't denounced Chelsea or Chelsea's fans anywhere for that to happen. Title rival? City stopped being his title rival when his contract expired with Chelsea. He had the chance to resume his career at a top club, and he took it. Although, yes, the business with loan extension and NYCFC is a bit unprofessional, but hey-ho, blame ****** and their owners for that, not Lampard..

You'll probably be getting a call from Real regardless. Maybe not this year, since Marco Reus is the priority, but most definitely in a year or two. Worrying thing for you probably is that Hazard may try to force the move instead of staying back, but it depends on yours and Real's situation in the future, I guess..

When he came to us, pretty much everyone in this thread said he would develop for 3 years or so before Real came to ask for him. I'd much rather he stayed here and I'm not convinced he'll leave, but even if he does we've still got huge amounts of value out of him and we'll be able to buy some seriously good players with the money (without having the Liverpool/Spurs issue of not being able to attract absolutely top tier talent).

Some rumours about that Ramires may be started at RB tomorrow. Who knows maybe Jose could turn him into the new essien in that position :p
