Probably the only time you will see a player unveiled by a club he never signed for. Congratulations all around to City, NYFC and Lampard

Makes me wonder just what they have been playing at all along. Did Lampard ever intend to go to NYFC in January?

City are saying NY announcing signing of Lampard was an error, City announcing him signing on loan was an error. Lol too many errors to make anyone believe the BS story. Even Pelligrini in so many interviews said they would like to extend Lampard's loan, why did he say that if Lampard was never on loan. Maybe one more error.

Embarrassing from City, Lampard.

The biggest error was letting Lampard go.

No it wasn't. The value he offered the squad wasn't worth the wages he was on. Him ending up at City is regrettable but it's not like we could have foreseen it.

What I am curious about is the reason for City hiding this 'short term agreement' with Lampard behind the facade of a loan ... Maybe Lampard wanted it that way to make it more palatable for his fans? Maybe an avenue for some creative accounting?

The real losers here are the NYFC fans. They bought season tickets with the hope of seeing Lampard and now they learn he doesn't even belong to their club. NYFC club have opened themselves up to some potential legal trouble indeed considering the way they marketed Frank selling consumers on promises they knew to be false

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Sure Lampard scores crucial goals but for a club like ours which actually wants to comply with the FFP, his huge wages did not justify the fact that he spent most of his time sitting on the bench

Maybe, dunno. From my perspective City good player who is scoring some important goals for them, just like he did for his previous club.

Because of how City are set up and the nature of their wingers. I don't want to write an essay because it's Friday night, but just look at how the two teams have on the bench (especially in wide positions) and how they tend to play. For us, having a creative player in the 10 role is considerably more valuable than it would be to have a goalscorer.

Lol. The goosebumps I get watching football sometimes... Crowd shouting: "Diego! DIEGO! DIEGO!" Literally 5 seconds later, in the very same attack, Diego scores. It's like... they summoned him or some ****.

They chant his name with the same fervour and passion even when he is playing ****. Goes to show that if players put in effort and show some fight on the pitch, the fans will back them all the way

Yes, but just an effort isn't good enough. You have to be good. Torres made an effort too. :P

Haha true. I guess what fans like about Costa is that he truly fights for the club on the pitch. He isn't afraid to stand up to opponents. He leads from the front. He is absolutely ferocious in front of goal. We missed a character like him for a long time

I guess when fans see him play, they imagine that they would play like him if they got the chance. Full of passion and fire. That's why they love him

First half was **** and i am surprised we managed to get a goal. We were much better in the second half. Decent win and good opportunity to win our next 2 games and take a 5 point lead
