IMO he will be replacing Cuadrado. And that would be a huge improvemet!

I really want to see Cuadrado given a full season to prove himself and so we can judge him properly but you know jose if a player doesn't seem up to his standards they are shown the door very quickly.

Not necessarily, there're other factors to consider as I've mentioned in the rumour thread.

1.) The possibility of winning trophies and medals.
2.) CL football.
3.) Chelsea can offer a higher salary than the likes of Villa etc.
4.) Living in London.

Point being 1 and 2 matter little if you aren't actually taking part in them.

Or at least shouldn't. This isn't some average, back-up 'keeper here. This is a fully established first team International. Who at 28, needs and should want to be playing regularly.

I honestly don't get modern day footballers happy not playing. Makes a complete mockery of the job description.

Said it from the get go. I have watched him for about 3 seasons and he is Nani Mk2 capable of great things then will be **** for the next 4-5 matches. So inconsisitent its unbelievable, think Jose has sussed this and thats why he is on his way out and Arda in IMO.

I haven't judged Cuadrado yet because he hasn't been given enough chances and some of the criticism he's got is a bit unfair, but I know you're not his biggest fan and I'm still being optimistic about him. However I agree with you that we'll try to sign Turan, especially being that he's available and is 100% a Jose type player. Whether or not that means Cuadrado will leave we'll have to wait and see, but I'd certainly have Turan if the deal was at a reasonable price. Also any Chelsea fan that wouldn't want Turan just needs to look at his performance last season in the CL against Leverkusen at the Vicente Calderon, he was simply faultless in that match.

Turan is class. Cuadrado is not. And i dont not like him, i am judging him on what i have watched for the last 3 years as a player. Remember on the Utd thread everyone crying we were not in for him, soley judging him on the World Cup and a couple of Europa league games.

Excellent business regarding Begovic if it turns out to be true. Slightly worrying that we only have had strong links towards players like Falcao and Begovic who would likely be back-up players. I was really hoping for some stardust to sprinkle the squad and make us legitimate contenders for CL. The likes of Pogba, Griezzman and Schneiderlin all fit the bill. Still lot of time left mind...

Although by this point last year, we had already sealed Costa and Fabregas although that was pretty much the ideal transfer window

TBH you dont really need much. Already faves for this season imo, despite who anyone else buys including us. Them 3 players look to be going elsewhere or staying in Griezmanns case. Im sure Mou has something up his sleeve though!

Not sure about that. We won the title last season partly because everyone else was completely ****. I fully expect a much tougher challenge from United, Arsenal and City next season

Oh yeah no doubt the challenge will be stronger. You still have the advantage of being defending champs and having a perfectly settled squad. While the rest will be having players coming and going most the window, and some even after the season started. Add to that a manager who sets up his team to win no matter what the fans think of the style.

i disagree with that and agree with Alcaraz.

2 years ago when we finished second it was **** poor PL. Last year, it was even worse with nobody of the top sides having a good year outside of Chelsea. And they're still a good ways short of the difference makers, and depth, in Europe.

They should be looking to add 2 World class players to stay on top and take it on again.

You should always be looking to improve. NEVER settle.

Hey what, who was talking about Europe? They are still faves and no one can deny that! They will add thats why i said Jose will have something up his sleeve. Pool,****,Utd,City are rebuilding and buy/selling numerous players. You cant expect all those squads just to gel off the bat and hit the ground running. Also like i said some of the challenging squads will still be doing buisness after the season starts.

Firstly, I mentioned Europe as that should be Chelsea's main aim.

And secondly, as previously stated elsewhere, as we currently stand I don't see any serious challenger to them next year. Maybe City if they go on a big splurge. But Arsenal still need 2 or 3 top notch players IMHO and nobody else is anywhere near challenging.

But they still need to improve regardless.

So basically agreeing with me then :P

If I had to choose I'd definitely choose the UCL title next. I want to relive that again. It doesn't compare to anything.

I really cant see anyone winning that than Barca. Im gonna have a bet that they will be the first team to win it back to back.

Yup. You can't count them out when that trio scores 130 goals in one season. It's like brutally lethal. It's not impossible when you have Jose guiding you though.

Oh for sure! Just look at Inter. Barca are just fecking beasts atm, then throw Pogba,Turan into the mix :O

Absolutely.

Been exceptionally fortunate to of seen my team live in 4 of them. 2 wins. 2 defeats. From doing what no other team in the World could of done at the time, and beating Roma in their own back yard in '84, through a shockingly violent night after that preceded Heysel, to that point the worst night in my young 11 year life; through the greatest night and final of them all in Istanbul and disappointment in Athens 2 years later; they're really is NO feeling like being crowned Champions of a Continent.

Biggest game in sport in the biggest and best sporting competition on the planet.

The World Cup has nottin' on the Champions League.
