I'd like him at United. Giggs isnt ready, there is a clear evolution between LVG and Pep in how they play so it makes sense for us.

I know we talked about it before, but I still think he was the only one who could have really taken over from Ferguson. Did the club approach him at all, or did they get outmaneuvered by Bayern?

That's what makes Paisley even more remarkable for me aside from the ridiculous trophy haul in such a short managerial career.

Just about the hardest thing to do in managing/ coaching is follow an absolute legend at a club. Paisley not only did that, he improved Shankly's team and rebuilt it twice in 9 short years.

Paisley and Ferguson really are on a plateau all on their own when it comes to British managers/ managers who've worked in Britain.

And are right up there with any you care to mention as the GOAT Worldwide IMHO.

My bet is on Giggs as next manager tbh.

I think most players in modern football fail to become succesful managers, because they're just not prepared mentally for a 9 to 5 job. Nowadays before the player even has hair on his balls, the club, the agent and the family take on all of the pressures on every day life, just so the players can focus 100% on the sport. Then they end careers as a 35 year old manchilds who don't how to fill their taxes or register their car.

With Giggs none of this is an issue since he was brought up in a different era, has arguably the best possible mentor in Van Gaal, and he's obviously an insane workaholic.

That, and no one is really ready for Manchester United job, until they actually get a Manchester United job. Just look at Moyes. 10 years of experience in the Prem turned out to be worth jack ****.

Who at Chelsea is decisive about the transfers? You know... Choosing transfer targets and stuff. Is it Mourinho, Abromovich or do they have a special guy for that like in FM (can't find the english word :( ). I guess Abromovich is about how much transfer money they're allowed to spend.

Your talking about director of football.

And I assume mourinho handles the transfers and abromovich just handles the finances ( Transfer Budget )

Mourinho actually works with a director of football/technical director in Michael Emenalo and Marina Granovskaia. Abromovich is not involved directly with the finances (contracts transfer budget etc...).

**** I actually didn't know that hence the "I Assume" but that's very interesting because I have always had the intention that Mourinho would rather do all the signing's and contract negotiations himself.

We never approached him. We would have, but the club listen to Ferguson, and the dream was always Ferguson 2.0, whereas Pep is a 3 year man

Precisely. That's why Jose isn't your guy either. AND I HOPE YOU NEVER FIND/CREATE FERGUSON 2.0

I wouldnt have Jose. As Subtle said, spain changed him. There is a much nastier side to him when he loses control. No manager is a saint, and sir alex was as combative as any. But Jose crosses a line for me.

No manager in the world is probably involved with contracts and finances. Unlike fm there is a lot more hitches to it then wages, signing on fee etc... they get more qualified people to do that.

Said it through the Rafa disgrace a few weeks back, I loved Mourinho his first go-around. He was a fresh and different character. But he's come back a complete and utter ***. I wouldn't want him ANYWHERE near L'pool Football Club even if yers could guarantee me he'd bring home #19.

Respect for what he's achieved as a coach/ manager.

But little to no respect for him as a man. Absolute *** to be polite.

You'd be surprised just how far Benitez tried to totally control everything at ours, including that side. And we stupidly gave him that leeway. All those ridiculous 5 year deals weren't down to Parry.

El zhar on 50k plus whoever sanctioned that needs their head checked.

Probably should of worded my sentence better but your totally right :P

So this is currently flying around on reddit. ONE World Sports :: Chelsea doc demoted for more than mishap

Mourinho is said to have held reservations about Carneiro's role within the first-team squad since at least last year. While there is no question about her professional abilities, the Portuguese coach was concerned that the dressing room dynamic was affected by the presence of a female.

What the **** difference does it make if there's a woman on the staff? I mean, female kitman I could understand, but a Doctor? She probably did prostate exams in medial school for christ sake, I doubt she'd even bat an eye if someone accidently flashed his ****.

Its gotta be bogus story. I'd better be bogus story, because if its not, you're looking at PR clusterfuck of a decade. That's blatant sexism if true, you're looking at sponsors jumping the ship if club handles this badly.
