Some causes for frustration:
- Man mark and tight marking. Defend play: six rivals coming in the attack, six defenders, only two rivals marked, the rest piled (more or less) as far as they can from any relevant player. The two marked rivals aren't relevant to the game. Guy with ball totally alone, most likely target for his psss, has no defender in sight. Again and again and again.
- A huge lot of times there seems to be one algorythm to govern the movement of my plaers. It's best described by "OMG!! The ball! RUUUUUNNNN!!!".
- When the ball = bomb algorythm doesn't fire then fires if (player==humanteam) set reaction_delay = 1 second.
- Computer team player: seek to get ball in the first point where it can be caught. Human team player: wait in the spot where the ball is expected to land or stop; if the rival goes before to take it with a header, do nothing to fight for it. Complementary to this is the human team player: run for ball, rival got it and you're alone, go "bah he got the ball why try to get it now, screw this I'll go scratch my balls two meters away".
- Even if graphically the ball is in the feet of your player, the text will say a rival kicked it. Goal.
- Relay text: your player crosses the ball to the six yards box, rival heads it behind, goal kick.
- Why should I take the ball that I have in my foot? I'm a defender my thing is to trip rivals, screw this I'm going back, let the striker six meters there get it. If you want the ball, pray the midfielder that is further away manages to run like a madman.
- Frequent passing algorythm: locate teammate, aim five meters behind him.
