great job and yes in my experience serie B has been the toughest division to play. That was a very strange season for me and was lucky to gain promotion the first year. I have to say I had been very good ((H)) at making money and generatng profits out of nowhere, which was the key to some awesome signings.

Good luck with the season and the academy!

Cool, in seven years my youth setup only produced ONE player potentially good for first team, he actually seemed very promising but gave him up when he defected to Italy ;)

Also noticed San Marino tends to produce (half)decent centre-backs and central midfielders and terrible attackers, so a left winger would be really something!

Yeah, Serie B is hard....Im getting good results against the bigger sides, but getting totally dominated by the teams battling relegation.....if i go up, i would be extremely lucky.....and i know about the money, Been getting alot more now then is Serie C.....it was push and go with finances back in Serie C....but we managed to stay afloat....and now we may be able to sign a few good players come Serie A

Just finished first season but it was very strange, stared of with 5win - 5draws - 5loss and went 18 unbeaten to get from 8th to 1st.
Any tips on who to sign ??

My game crashed so I've lost my save file. :'( So I'll start again with the new patch tonight I think.

Sure, which positions are you looking to improve?

my game crashed in the middle of C1 (was dominating again btw (H)) and I hadn't saved recently, so I'm kinda devastated. Didn't lose my save file but I'm finding hard to restart the season, AGAIN. Been there, done that... TWICE. Not sure I can go on this time tbh...

good luck with your career and keep posting on the thread!

Everywhere, just strengthen the whole team.

Always check the free agents market esp players from higher divisions who may agree signing in C1.

Some names to check:

GK: Berbia, Ponzo, Nicolas Pastorini
Defenders: Franchini, Innocenti, Jorge Curbelo, Alejandro & Gabriel Cichero, Zanev
Midfielders: Miguel Cevasco, De Ascentis, Bellavista, Miguel Mea Vitali
Attackers: Paonessa, Petrucci
Strikers: Rodrigo Pastorini, Fabbiani and I always recommend my cult player Alessandro Cesarini

hope it helped a bit

Man I've tried so many leagues and countries after my San Marino adventure: greece, france LLM, australia, even vaduz/lichtenstein in swiss (aka San marino lite)... but for me nothing comes close to the San Marino challenge!

So I'm starting once again with patch 11.3 and this time with the national team from day one, too! I was wondering if there's still somebody playing with SM (apart Drezzy!) and still following this thread, and if I should keep posting upadates here. Anyone?

kandersson, how did you choose to manage both teams from the start?

Started the game as NT manager, then added another manager to the club and retired immediately. Then applied for the job and got it. Started as a former international player (continental reputation) just to be sure. Won't work if you start at the club and apply for the NT though.

A bit of cheating but thought I was deserving that with all I had done for San Marino in the past save;)

i have a crash dump on this game, no solutions found on the internet thus far will work

Had a crash in the middle of second season (patch 11.3) that really destroyed my motivation to go on (hadn't saved the game recently). btw I had never experienced a crash before patch 11.3 :S

My San Marino Challenge is officially over. I can boast consecutive promotions from C2 to serie A, 1 Serie A championship (2016) and 1 runner-up in Champions League (2016). Ah, and a victorious friendly match with the NT in my short 11.3 career (H)

good luck to those still playing the challenge, I'd be glad if you guys could keep posting your progress here.

Evryone who wants to start a San Marino game might want to take a look at Gionatha Spinesi, Great striker with Serie A Experience

started one today although not sure about who to sign D:

missed out on Leo Aro.

Started 2 days ago and I was just wondering how many players everyone buys. You change the whole team every time you get promoted or only 5-10 signings? I've made 8 so far and I'm in first year but I think I should have made a lot more, struggling to win eventhough I've got some amazing players like Caillet, Julio Rossi and Denis (16 and already better than 95% of the team). Took me 4 hours to find those guys, checked U19 teams hoping to find a cheap player for future and found Denis.

First season I tend to change everything and even go over the budget to put together a ridiculously strong squad, kill the league and gain promotion. Then in C1 I wouldn't need major new signings as the team would still be very competitive, maybe get some youngsters if I have some money, or if there's a free agent available who's just too good to pass.

Then in serie B I'd try to sign lots of new, better players as standard of football will increase considerably. Same story goes for Serie A.

maybe you can take a look at the small guides I've made in this thread (check at the end of OP)

Thanks mate. Played it for 3 days now and I just got promoted to C1/A. I think I've got a pretty strong squad, mostly players between 28 and 35 but experience is never a bad thing :p I've got €2,852 for transfers and another €5,359 for wages. What kind of money do you need to build better youth training/ academy?

I started a save the other day aswell after being inspired by people on here, first season I went up through the play offs because my star striker was injured for 3 months and lost like 5-6 in a row which didn't help and I spent all of my money on him. Second season which i'm curently just entering December I am top of the league which is very supprising as I didnt have ANY money to spend in the summer and unfortunately I made the cardinal sin resorting to going to Réunion to get a few players as I was a bit short on players. Anyway here is my star man Leandro Armani View attachment 165391 who ended up costing me £500k. :S

Oh and any ideas for a left winger for next season as I think thats where the team is weakest.?

Nice man sounds like Leandro Armani really has a huge impact on games. I've spent i think €50,000 so far, all other players were free. Just look for free players and pick out the right ones, I was surprised by how good they were even though some of them are really old. For left winger take a look at Dave van den Bergh (should be available), or a younger Eldin Hadzic he was free for me so hopefully for you too. Check out released players, lots of good free players there at the end/ beginning of seasons.

Does anyone else get really annoyed by the fans? I just got promoted to Serie B and the fans are whining that we got promoted through a playoff and not by finishing 1st. In real life I think San Marino fans would go crazy if they got promoted to Serie B.

To start buliding facilities/academy you need some decent money in the bank, about 3-4M which is virtually impossible until serie B, when you'll start making good profits via sells, co-ownerships and friendlies. This is why I don't mind going over budget in the first two seasons, I just want to get out of serie C asap. A bit of a gamble, but worked fine for me.

And yes, San Marino IRL have never played in serie B, so your fans seem to be a little delusional XD though I must say I never had that problem as I won C2 and C1 in consecutive seasons (H)

Leandro Depetris has been a good AML for me both in C2 and C1, then I'd suggest Siligardi and especially Paonessa (both should be available for free at the end of first season)
