I signed Jose Angel Crespo for my Portsmouth team but I can't register him for my EPL games! For my first game against Aston Villa, I thought it was just because there wasn't enough time. But now it seems I can't even register him for my match next week. An "Ine" indicator in red is against his name.

What's happening?

EDIT: Fixed it. I was worried because it was only August and yet I was having problems. I had just forgotten to assign him a squad number! :O

La Liga player registration?

Hi guys,
I've managing Atletico Madrid at the moment and just before the transfer window ended Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero both got injured :'( So, I decided to quickly try and loan Roman Pavlyuchenko, hes accepted and everything. However, the La Liga Registration Window ended on the same day, I've still got one free squad number though. Pav is about to sign and I don't know if I should accept it if I can't register him. Can I still register him?

Cheers

Here's a screenshot of my Portsmouth finances. I took control of the team in May 2010.

Surprisingly, I was given a transfer budget of $22M. I have spent $22M already and have a good team now. Without it, the balance would have been close to +$10M instead of negative.

Am I heading down the road to financial ruin? Or will it be managed as I won't be spending on transfers anymore? Or am I just fine?

Your board have been taking out bank loans and giving gift loans to cover the losses being built up prior to you arriving and to give you a budget. (Last season the club lost $45m, and that was with making nearly $2m profit on transfers).

In two years time, your finances will be an absolute mess as you have to find $79m from somewhere to cover the two bank loans due then.

Erm, bring through the youth and start building up that buffer if you care for the club. Otherwise, do a Harry Redknapp and overachieve before doing a runner just before things hit the fan.

Thanks for that detailed analysis :)

I was a bit confused about the two large loan repayments, but now I understand that I have to pay each of those loans in one go! Somehow, I don't see that happening.

I have a few promising young players in my youth and reserve squads and I have also scouted a few. I will try to keep the club finances afloat, but if after two years it seems like a lost battle, I will leave. I am sure that after two good seasons in the Premier League, I will find better offers :)

I know of two ways to get as much extra money as possible:
-Go as far as possible in the Cups
-Get a good league position. The bonuses can be substantial!

Ok so i had that Invalid Token thing and I unstalled steam and FM2010, because I couldn't find the file which I had to delete but i have now so I have tried to install steam again but when it gets to the destination folder I click install but it says folder path contains unknown files any help?

i`m very new to this and am not even sure if this is the correct way to ask a question, if its not i apologise and admit to being a spanner of the highest order!! However i`m a quarter way through my first season as everton, tactic is ok but still in progress but i`m having big problems with copmlacency against the "lesser" teams, any tips? its very frustrating!!

I have a problem with the Hall of Fame, I have the same character (name) in 2 of my saves and since I'm from a small and pretty unsuccesfull country (Belgium) I got to the top pretty quick. But now it bugs me that I see the same name twice on top of the hall of fame, any way to fix this?

You should head over to the Tactics section and read the team-talk guide stickied there.

What I do is that I get a good Assistant Manager and let him handle the talks if I am having problems or do not care, with slight tweaks where I feel like it. My team is usually highly motivated, though it could be improved if I personally handled everything myself.

How do I loan players? I usually try and send my reserves out on loan (all are under 21), but half of them can't be loaned out because 'no club considers a loan deal viable', even when the players are hoping for a loan. So is there a way I can loan these players out?

You could try offering them to clubs and it might raise a few eyebrows but if no-one wants them then you could send them to a low league affiliate. Otherwise no-one wants them and you have to let them stay at your club.

You could delete the other saves. I have my name in my hall of fame twice but other than that I don't know.

EDIT: If someone wouldn't mind, could they answer some of the other questions left out up the page.

Thanks for the answer but that didn't work either, but thanks anyway :)

edit: nevermind

Is this how things really work:

When you sign a player for a fee over 24 months, 18 months, 12 months, or 6 months, half the fee is immedietly taken from your transfer budget. The rest of the fee is taken out over the said time. Due to this, you must have at least half of the fee paid over a time, aswell as everything else included in the transfer. An example is signing Ever Banega for £2mil upfront, £10mil over 24 months, and 25% sell-on. You must have the £2mil upfront, and half of the £10mil (£5mil) that you agreed to pay over 24 months. The other £5mil will be paid over 24 months.

I really need some help, no matter what I try I cant get success as a manager, my first game I went 18 months with Man Utd before being sacked after failing to win any trophies and in my current game I managed Newcastle for 6 months until I was sacked with them 10th in the league so I just created another manager profile as united manager in that game and resigned the old one.

I took them over in December 1 point of top and in the europa league by the end of the season I finished 5th, 20points of 1st and came runner up in the europa league. After 6 games of the new season I'm 9th with 9 points having won 3 and lost 3 including 1-0 loses to west brom and wigan.

I have attached a screenshot of the tactic im using and my squad, any and all advice would be really apreciated, I love playing the game, i'm just not very good at it lol

What is the benefit of having scouts and other staff members with knowledge of different countries? Is it:

- You will be able to view more and more attributes of players of different countries when attribute masking is enabled.
- The normal player search will list more players from different countries.
- When you send a scout to a country he/you have a good knowledge of, you can get more/better players.

I believe only the 3rd thing you said. Other than that knowledge is useless. Some people say how come Coaches have it. I don't know but it could be that they might want to be a scout in the future.

Thanks again for your quick answer. However, I want to ask you one question - how confident you are of your answer? Because I think I saw the second point mentioned somewhere. Hmm...Google search isn't helping me on this.

EDIT: I got this from Google:

"The more scouting knowledge your club has, the more players will appear on the player search screen."
