Borell was all eyes as again he saw Charles with the ball in the match against the Cardiff U-16s.He was runnin confidently down the flank and was nearing the byline, suddenly he cut inside and enterted the box.

He glanced up to see 3 team-mates in goalscoring positions ut again as Borell noted he did not pass. However unlike in practice this time Charles beatifully side-stepped the opposing players and scored a volley from the tighest of angles.

As the players rushed towards Charles to congratulate him for his wonder goal,Borell hung back deep in though

'If Charles continued like this,it could have an adverse affect on his game as he progresses'
Borell said out loud to himself

He had to do something.Charles was going to receive the hair-dryer treatment and one of Borell's special lessons next Training

3 Months Later

In the 3 months that I had been at this club,I had quicky established myself as a regualar member in the U-18s First-Team.I even made the odd cameo appearance for the Reserve Team but such opportunitires were far and rare.

Right now,I was the brightest prospect for the Club for a player in my position but as always competition for places in the Team continued to increase as the Club continued to opt for Talent from abroad to strenghten their bid to stay in the Premiereship.

As I sat eating in the Club Canteen one day,I found my eyes being drawn to the Television where a smartly clad man was speaking infront of St James Park.

'We are very pleased to announce that our club has secured the services of the highly-rated youngster from Pescara,Marco Verratti for a fee of 400k'

'Will he be in the first-team squad or in the Reserves?
an unseen reporter asked

'We hope to alternate him between the U-18s and Reserves for now but as always we are pleased that Marco made the decision to play for us and we will give him the best conditions to flourish'

As the man slowly went out of focus, all the Newcastle players in the canteen started clapping and punching the air with their fists.Everyone knew how highly-rated Marco Verratti and as expected everyone was delighted to be able to play alongside such a talent.

'Man!Never expected Marco to come play for us after hearing the Milan clubs were after him'
said my friend Mike as he sat down with a thick Geordie accent

I said nothing as I continued to stare down at my plate of half-eaten Lasagne

well there goes his chance to be in the first team...

A lot had happened since the month that Verratti had joined. We all knew how highly-rated he was and how he was known as the next Luca Toni by the press.

I have to hand it to the press though, for once they did not seem to exaggerrate. He had immense ball control and playmaking abilities Marco did.Sub-Consciously we found that whenever he played a U-18 Game with us,we would often look to pass the ball to him.

I found that I could link up well with him too,we seemed to have similar abilities which gave us a sort of telepathic communication. He knew my runs and I knew his etc.

We were winning constantly and often found ourselves in the top half of thbe English U-18s League.I was even getting more and more minutes for the Reserves too although that had considerably lessened due to Verratti's arrival.

As for the Newcastle First-Team,they were fighting hard to save themselves from relegation after a poor season under Chris Houghton.Everyone at the club had a worried look on their face knowing that every point lost was bringing us another step closer to the Championship.

Most of the fan's criticism had been directed at striker Shola Ameobi who had missed several chances during crucial games but was still being played and kept faith in by the Gaffer.

Chris Houghton's Office

I went to see the manager Chris Hughton as I did every month to see how he thought of my progress and development. When I arrived outside,I saw the door to his office slightly ajar while 2 men were speaking inside.

As I crept closer I heard the voice of Marco Verratti.

'I want to play regualr Reseve fixtures and get a run in the first-team matches the U-18s are far from my standard'

'I cant sorry lad, your time will come, you wait for it'
replies Chris Hughton tersely

'Mr Houhgton you purchased me for 500k plus future incentives while I rejected AC Milan and Juventus to come to this....shithole,I want proper football and First-Team football next year'
replies Marco Verratti with a thick Italian accent

'Marco you are seriously crossing the line here,I can suspend you for this'
shouts Mr Hughton

'And I can get you sacked for what you gave to my...'
replies Marco Verratti but he is cut off mid-sentence by Chris Hughton

'Alright lad,no worries you will get your football as well as a wage increase'
replies Mr Hughton in a,was it a scared tone

The concept is based on the Goal! Series but you will definetly see more twists and turns and maybe a suprise ending to the Story:)

Good story so far, only advice is that you should look into you're punctuation, after every comma is a space.

There I found myself taking a free-kick against MiddlesBrough Reserves in the 90th minute of the game.Suprisingly I had been on the pitch from minute one,I still remember the gaffer speaking my name on the team sheet before the match.

'Joey Barton,Dan Gosling,Nils Ranger and....Charles Nizigimya'

We were 1-0 down and we had earned a free-kick on the edge of the box.More suprisingly,I was aked to take it by the Reseve Team Coach.I looked down at the ball imprinitng it in my mind then looked at the top of the goal calculating in my mind the trajectory and power needed.I ran through the free-kick in my mind again and again.

'And I can get you sacked for what you gave my father..'

I shook my head, not now I needed to concentrate I needed to put everything out of my mind except the free-kick.

The ball was as close to the goal it could be without being a penalty. The angle was very acute,it was an easier shot.

I ran but suddenly slipped mid-way and found that when I kiicked the ball I was horribly off-balance,and as he slithered backwards to the ground, his foot connected with the ball and he sliced it high and wide of goal.

I saw the Reserve Team Coach shake his head as the referee blowed three sharp shrills signalling the end of the game.

I laid down in the mud staring at the open sky.
