I am just looking forward to the inevitable reaction this time Sunday afternoon. This thread will be either livid and very active or quiet and happy

here's hoping it's the second one

Hey man, I'm just happy the 38 notes isn't going to waste on Sunday and I get to see my new man crush Joe Gomez.

Anything above and beyond that is gravy.

Not saying it is likely to happen, but it would be rather amusing if Liverpool were to beat Man City to fourth place RE. Sterling...

Seen quite a few people believing City are the weakest of the top 4 (lack of defensive improvement, reliant on Aguero not getting injured etc)

Less than 20 hours until Joe freaking Gomez in unleashed on the PL.

The man, the myth, the living LEG-END that is Joe freaking Gomez!

*I might have a bot of a man crush going on here ha ha.

First game of the post Gerrard era .....

Utd already laid down their marker for 4th. (And Chelsea dropped 2 home points already too. Championship? Hey, it's the first game. International law decrees you're obliged to dream BIG. :P.).

One thing's for darn sure. L'pool can't afford to start with a loss after what happened in that ****hole the last day of last term or else the **** really will hit the fan, the pressure intensify, and the atmosphere against Bournemouth (absolute disgrace on the PL and Sky that that's on a Monday night) will be ugly.

Fearing the worst, but going with that excited, first day of the season feeling in anticipation of just how exciting our attacking play could/ should be this year.

Oh yeah, and did I mention .....

The man, the myth, the living LEG-END that is Joe freaking Gomez is making his debut! :D.

WE ARE LIVERPOOL!

*Good luck West 'Am at Arsenal.

Good luck today, with a tough opening fixture. Cant afford any slip ups :P Will get my coat :) No seriously all the best. Will be interesting to see how you play with all your new signings and post Gerrard and Sterling.

Be interesting to see today's line-up... Are Benteke and Firmino fit enough to start and will Lovren get a strating spot, as expected. Also will be good to see Jordan Ibe play a big part this season

Looking forward to this one!!

Read somewhere Benteke will start but not Firmino. Ibe will have a great season imo.

Really excited about this match as a neutral. I want to see Sexy Sexy Stoke (coined by Robbie Earl) and see what they are bringing to this campaign.

I honestly dont know what to expect this season. I normally get some sort of inkling, but I honestly dont know whether to be optimistic or not

Well it's either going to be on par with just about most season's for the past 10 years (5th-7th) or slightly above it (3rd-4th)

cant see it drastically changing from them. Even after a season as bad as last year (according to some) we still managed 6th position and threw away 5th

Getting really excited for our first match.
Lets hope for a good season.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Gomez, Henderson, Milner, Lallana, Ibe, Coutinho, Benteke #LFC

Liverpool subs: Bogdan, Toure, Firmino, Moreno, Can, Origi, Ings

Pretty good XI, would like to see Firmino in place of Ibe maybe.

Is Sakho injured?
