Carragher and Souness.

"That is Jurgen Klopp's problem now. Maybe he will address that in January but there are four centre forwards and three or four No 10s and no wide players. There are some problems with that squad in terms of the quality and the balance."

Graeme Souness agreed with Carragher's assessment and thinks Klopp faces a "difficult job" to turn the club's fortunes around.

"The biggest problem is this is the group he's got," he said.

So it's the players fault now? Not the manager?
Why did they sack Rodgers then?

I think most people could see that this was going to be a problem tbf, They get Benteke who is a beast in the air and have zero width, I mean Firmino can play out wide, so can Milner and I just do not think Ibe is cut out to be the main wideman quite yet so it was always going to be an issue, made even worse by loaning out Markovic too.

The blame has to be attached to whoever signed off on the recruitment and decided that this squad was ok to go through the rigours of a season. If it was the transfer committee or Rodgers I really do not know, as the whole process is shrouded in mystery. Having zero width just causes all sorts of problems especially in the Premier League.

Why did they sack Rodgers?

Because he brought majority of them, and didn't address the issues that were staring everyone in the face. I'm not judging Klopp until after next season, quite hilarious how everyone is so quick to jump the gun already on him (positive or negative)

We all know as football fans nothing changes this quick. If that squad won the last 3 games it wouldnt make Klopp a miracle worker either, although many fans would assume he was.

Klopp's a brilliant manager, but you could put Guardiola with that squad and you wouldnt see much difference, especially not in a couple of weeks.

Looking at our starting XI, I would only hope 3 or 4 are in our starting XI next season.

He's been getting far more width from his full backs than we've seen in years there. Without having to play them as wingback's in a 5 that was Rodgers only answer. Is it as much width as you'd like? No, but then he's only had what, two weeks just over to work with them? And the biggest problem he's facing, along with a lot of mediocrity that we knew he had to overturn personnel wise; is a mindset that's been drummed into the players to play it safe and square/ backwards to keep possession. You can see them falling back into that through games with Klopp frustratingly madly pointing the other way from the touchline. Two games running now the managers talked about the players confidence dropping so fast as soon as something negative happens which tells you all you need to know about the fragility within the group he inherited he has to overturn.

And Moreno is obviously finally getting some defensive coaching as there's been a BIG difference to that side of his play the first three games. He was always great bombing forward. But now he's getting a far better recognition of the defensive side to go with it.

Long way to go, and although it's not been super duper football, there's been very noticeable differences already all over the park to any long time regular watchers of this side game in, game out that have been brilliant to see in such a short space of time.

A lot of the recent latter in here has been bordering on overt trolling that would be called as such in other threads.

But we're big boys and can handle it. It is what it is.

Just seems everyones more interested in us than their own teams! Good point on Moreno he's looked very good in recent weeks, changing my opinion on him!

Not too sure how much you can actually put that down to Klopp though.

Just strange to see some fans not understanding that it doesnt instantly change just because you have a new manager in charge, but it's also quite funny too!

Because it took Rodgers 3 years to create this abomination of a team?!?!?!?!?!??!

I actually quite like the team we have. The problem is that it did not suit Rodgers' style and how he wanted to play - which was his downfall

Add a few players to create better balance and with the likes of Moreno, Sakho, Can, Henderson, Coutinho, Firmino, Benteke already here we will be hard to beat

Put a natural winger alongside Firmino and Coutinho in the three behind Benteke and it would cause teams all sorts of problems

Moreno was actually doing that when he arrived too for the first few months.

In fairness he didnt entirely create it. This is what happen when your committee thinking is horrible.

That's not going to happen. FSG sacked BR on the basis that they were happy with the majority of the signings. Hence why their recruitment isnt changing much

Again he didnt buy the majority of them

Did anyone else see the revenge tackle by milner on bertrand that cost us the win. I mean you would expect someone so experienced would not allow himself to get riled up like that. Instead of tracking back to block the one two he took bertrand out clean. The rest is history I guess. I expected so much more from milner given he is a great pro and all.

He didn't, but there's the major change in policy right there.

Ayre and co may be happy with what they brought in. But if Klopp doesn't rate them and feel they can play a role going forward, they won't be here. Rodgers never had that luxury of overall power.

That, added to the two biggest off field problems Ayre and Gordon no longer playing a major part in identifying and chasing players are massive differences to their first three years.

You haven't been to central europe (post eastern bloc) country have you? :D
I agree, they shouldn't mix. What's more disturbing is there's that many people stupid enough to vote for them.
Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany

Speaking of career choices, radical catholics just won election here. Anyone know can recommend a nice UK city for a Pole? Good weather not required.

Feel free to come to Bosnia. Awful weather, lousy paychecks and ****** government. But food is good.

Only good thing about the Wednesday game is that it can't be a draw. :D

XD Doesn't a draw leading to penalty's count? :P.

Another good, nay GREAT thing ..... Milner's suspended! *Does happy dance!

That will surely lead to Firmino getting some much needed game time. He and Benteke for Origi are the only changes I'd imagine. Although I'd maybe bring in Ibe for Coutinho. Don't know what's going on with Phil but he's not warranted a place in the side since Arsenal. Not that he's been much worse than most the others but a rest may do him good.

Expecting Bournemouth to rest quite a few given they're injury ravaged already and will surely prioritise the league with such a small squad even without the injury's.

That first win (fingers crossed) is going to be so massive. Not just for Klopp and the players, but as much for the fans as well. We've got so much a propensity to make stupid, individual mistakes that tie games you're just expecting the f-up out of nottin' even when we do take the lead like yesterday. And there's still much anxiety among the crowd along with the excitement that the manager continues to bring the longer this ridiculous run of draws rolls.

That first win will lift a lot of tension.

He is certainly a good option to have.. Buy another winger alongside him and we're getting somewhere at least

Makes you wonder why we didn't go in for Konoplyanka or Ayew on a free transfer, but were happy to splash out big money on Lallana and Firmino (who I rate btw). Ayew in particular, he was virtually begging us to sign him!
