Yeah, couldn't understand it. They need a big overhaul.

It's not gonna be easy to overhaul this mess. Just 2 years back Bayern were a team that guaranteed Bundesliga trophy and at least CL semi every year. They could easily poach any player they want from every club bar Barca and Madrid. After today's shitshow though, they're gonna have a big problem competing for top talent.

They have let too many fade and age at the same time. Gonna be very tough

They could easily poach any player feom any club within Germany. Lets get that straight.

Actually a lot of good young talent being added the last few years. Had this discussion after the first leg a few pages back looking at the foundation they’re puttiimg in place for another strong side. Provided they get the coach right, I just don’t see them having much of a drop off the coming years. We aren’t talking a Real Madrid scenario here.

City and L’pool aside, they still stack up very favourably with any other PL club going forward.

Dont see much good talent there tbh. Gnarbry is a decent squad player. Coman spends more time on the injury table than Phil Jones. Renato Sanches is *****. Sule looks a talent but has way to many brain farts still time I guess. Goretzka is always in and out the team. There in a right mess just as much as Madrid.

And the others you neglected to add. They’re in as much mess as Kovac is coaching them. Who’s srill gonna’ add another German treble.

Hard times indeed.

German football is still a hotbed for talent tho. Theyll poach Werner and that talented Havertz kid who looks special.

Can see them going for Werner / Jovic as a Lewa replacement.

Then they have Thiago who is still a great CM with plenty of years left. Kimmich is a great right back that they can also use in CM if needed. Alaba on the left may not be as good as previous years but will still be first choice at LB

Can see them looking for wingers and central defenders. Maybe Brandt from Leverkusen at CM if they cant get Havertz.

They will need to be very shrewd or really splash some money for next year

For fun, this would be my scouting list on FM as Bayern manager if I were in charge now IRL

CM - Havertz, Brandt

Winger - Thauvin, Depay, Suso

AMC - Fekir

ST - Werner, Jovic, maybe even Icardi if Inter are intent on getting rid of him

Nobody reasonable jumps out at central defense at the moment

Wouldn’t be a surprise lid. Munich are going nowhere. The main issue for me, is getting the coach right. Kovac has changed a lot there with his style. And not for the better. But now they’re turning their form again (great run since the draw with what, 11 goals scored the last 2 Bundesliga matches to take them top), they’ll doubtless win league and cup yet again which might save him.

As good as anything the PL not called ourselves and City who’d be comfortably top 4 here.

Yeah, they weren’t great these last two legs but this is a side that hasn’t lost at home the CL to snyone not called Madrid since 2013. And Christ knows the last time they lost 3 at that superb stadium in Europe was? If ever. 6 of the kast 7 CL semis. Getting knocked iut the quarters the outlyer. By Madrid.

When you mooch around social media and read tge amount of opposition fans trying to down play Wednesday and Bayern it just shows how fearful they are if this elite L’pool side and the ridiculous job they did in one of the hardest places in Europe to get a result. Jealousy knows no bounds and its hillarious to read.

One of our best ever European nights mate regardless and one of the best an English sides had period the CL.

This football club man.

Bayern haven't really been terrifying this CL-year. In the group stages Ajax was also at least on par with them. But I'll accept your point that they might be tough to beat at home in the European competitions.

Think the main problem with Bayern is that they want to be playing every year for semi-finals in the CL, but they don't want to invest as much as most other teams are doing. Obviously if your core is aging you will go into a cycle where it goes a bit less. Imo it is because you need every year a few changes in your selection to keep everyone on their front feet, but also to prevent you will have a generation who is going in their downfall at the same time.

Still buzzing off that massive statement of intent still reverberating around Europe Wednesday from this gang of special Reds, which now leads us to holiday lottery day and the draw sometime just after 11.

Almost perfect 2 weeks of results bar Juve turning that around. Can’t fail to not have another bosd away trip abroad so long as it’s not Turin. (Seriously considering the day-trip there from a safety standpoint. As little time on the streets of Turin as is humanly possible.). And an English side would suit most everyone I know down the ground to save money and holidays.

On the pitch, over two legs in our conpetition, I’ll happily take anyone. One things for sure, ala the quarters when most every club from Barcelona, Madrid, Munich on down openly said it, the one club NOBODY will want to pull is
L’pool

Personal preference-

Foreign:

Ajax- Amsterdam. Enough said. And never been Ajax so after Belgrade and Munich, a third new ground ticked off the bucket list.

Porto- One of my favourite City’s in Europe.

Barcelona- Enough said. And we ALWAYS get a result the Nou Camp.

English:

Tottenham- Tick the new ground off we should have done early season.

Utd- Meh, dreary Manchester. But rather them than City. Weakest side left along with Ajax and Porto.

City- See above.

Roll on 11 and knowing the route to # 6!

Liverpool vs United would be too prestigious and emotionally draining for a QF tie. If we both progressed that warrants a final more than anything. Jeez just imagine that *shivers*.

The prospect of L’pool and Utd taking 40/50 thousand each to Madrid, travelling the same routes from the same airports, does indeed make you shiver.

But for all the WRONG reasons.

And the Madrid bizzies, like all Police in Spain, are absolute shithouses who hit first and ask questions later.

Yeah sadly with the dark side of football and humanity generally that would be inevitable. But I still think that for two teams like that to meet in Europe it deserves the grandest stage for when it eventually does happen.

Perfect draw.

Couldn’t have hand-picked that any better.

No nightmare trip to Turin. Semi second leg at Anfield. And we get to go Porto again!

Just need the dates now. Having to do the memorial away in Porto if its the Tuesday will be different but we’ll find a church.

Perfect draw for me. Avoided an English team and a final vs City is on
