As noted, the return of our two colossus’ at CH was ALL that mattered tonight.

But I will add I am absolutely LOVING Naby Lad shutting all the narking up all over social media. You get the feeling many are seemingly actively rooting for him to be injured just to say ‘See! We TOLD you!!!!!’

They just can’t countenance that maybe, just maybe, the slow, patient approach we’ve taken since around Chrimbo when we brought in the top German muscle/ rehab specialist form BVB, Dr Schlumberger (Sp?) to work specifically on fixing his core, might actually be paying off and his body might finally be allowing him to get the consistent run of games his ridiculous talent deserves.

Why wouldn't EVERY Red want that out of this pre-season? Just mad how people have one set view and won''t change their mind on someone.

LONG may he continue to silence the narkers.

'Onwards and upwards' indeed.

As if the sight of the Worlds clear best CH back in action wasn't disheartening enough for every other team, he just happened to be joined by his heir apparent ..... The Man, The Myth, The Living LEG-END Joe MF Gomez!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍

NO summer transfer still to be made can top having the two back on a football pitch again.

Looked absolutely rough out there as expected. Still not as slow as a certain slabhead though...
Always a good chance he’s not the same player. But as for now until we see. He’s still the one of the best CHs in world football with Ramos, Chellini, Benucci

Yeah, who would have thought that a one footed striker who had multiple knee operations to send van Dijk to green pastures. Jovetic's knee really held up well there.

Penultimate day of a superb three weeks grind under the gorgeous Austrian alps.

Onto France tomorrow and equally idilic Evian for the next leg of this long *** camp. Where the remaining players on holiday, the three Brazilians and the Captain, will join up. The ENTIRE band back together. Rested and healthy. With the majority having the one thing they normally don't. A long, proper break to fully recharge followed by a full Klopp pre-season.

Each stage just makes you more and more excited . Can't remember being this buzzing for a season in forever.

Getting a proper 2019/20 vibe that they're ready to beast this league form day one.

The good news just keeps on rolling.

Liverpool. Continuing to quietly do important bits whilst they patiently wait for the quota to sort itself.

Yep it will take time for him to not only get back up to speed but also the little niggling injuries that will certainly come with the type of injury he had. Fingers crossed he gets back to his best.

I'll never forget a 19 yr old Jovetic terrorising us with Fiore back in the CL with Rafa. I think we was linked to signing him but the deal gor scuppered with our former owners or something.

I grew up following Partizan Belgrade, and I consider Jovetic by far the most gifted player that has been played there as long as I remember. Whats funny, next season he tore his knee and had first of few surgeries and he never recovered from that. That 19/20 yo Jovetic was the best version of Jovetic.

The great thing right now I'm taking is both are ahead of schedule and back to going full pelt with everyone else. Which having got through more or less the full workload of 3 solid weeks of a Klopp pre-season, and just how ridiculously hard they are (I think we had a double session again yesterday before the game. Certainly they were out in the morning) with no breakdown, is a massively positive sign. And I wasn't joking over the page when I said i loved how he hit and slid on the grass the fourth goal last night. Just things like that remove doubt from a guys mind about contact on the knee. JMG, if anything, settled back in far better but meh, 22 mins of extended training. It's been amusing the number of numpties on SM today flagging up the goal to try skit him and us ..... Like he could have scored 5 oggies last night and it wouldn't have dampened anyone's unadulterated excitement. Clowns.

The concerns are always there over such an injury. But I've never thought he wouldn't come back as good as ever. This isn't the 80's. The advancement in medical science makes these less and less of a worry. And even if Virgil lost a yard of pace say, he's still a Country mile better than anything else out there so we'd have to be exceptionally unlucky to lose out.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager the first three games of the season will see Matip and Konaté up until the first International. Which gives them both 5/6 more solid weeks of intense work, on top of the month in camp before they both start to be reintroduced from Leeds on. That way it stops either being called up that first break too and either England or the Netherlands setting them back.

Oh, we may have to delay the party this weekend as Shaqiri might not be sorted. But as soon as he is, I think you're going to be partying hard mate.

And if rumors (between 180k and 200k) are true, TAA is among highest paid defenders in PL. Next one is van Dijk, how much of a raise will he get? Slowly but surely Liverpool wages are catching up to other clubs (for top players) as they should.

Looking at it, Trent’s effectively got a year extension as he had 3 to go on his previous contract.

Just L’pool doing what they’ve always done in continually rewriting contracts and rewarding earned progress. Giving him a salary befitting one of the most important players in the squad.

Nothing will change away from the lower base/ heavily bonus incentivised contracts. It’s how the club has worked for decades and has always served them well.
