If they do go on. Get out the megaphones for the anthem. If you know, you know...

I’m just happy we aren’t in Glasgow next week. That would NOT have been good! 🤦‍♂️

They’ll be no sport at all this weekend mate. I’m more F off with the funeral looking like it being next Sunday and Chelsea going. Can probably switch the train ticket but I need another midweek in London lime I need a bad dose of the clap! 🤦‍♂️

One of you f.eckers could have told me this beer tastes like a poxy fruit coctail.

Be like a proper Belgium: Duvel.

Get that taste and work up from there.

You’re welcome.

KBS!

Had six or seven of them today and a few dark ales from a brewery around the corner. After traveling since 4am, I'm fit for the grave now.
Let's take stock and start again at 10am ;)🍻

Heh, it kinda reminds me of when our president died in that plane crash. First few days, it was genuinely sad and 99% of people were respectful. But the media establishment kept making such a cheap spectacle out of the crash and the funeral proceedings, eventually everyone was completely fed up with it and people started mocking the whole thing. 🤷‍♂️

Lot of talk as regards that this AM.

Can’t see them flipping the fixtures but it would be a viable and sensible solution given the scandalous congestion this year.

I should think so too. Excellent news.

It would have been utterly non-sensical and without cause for it not to go ahead as scheduled with some of our friends from Amsterdam in the city already on their pilgrimage to football Mecca. But it’s still UEFA so having it ‘officially’ confirmed is brilliant news.

Roll on Tuesday now and another belter night under the Anfield lights exercising the inexplicable absurdity of last week in Naples.

After the absolute disgrace of last weekends games being cancelled, along with the double blow of Chelsea going next Sunday, it’s just brilliant to finally be waking on a match day morning again.

European nights under the Anfield lights are super special and like most nowhere else at the best of times but I can’t wait for this one!

L’pool- Ajax is a PROPER European game. 10 European Cups/ 24 European/ World titles between us. Split almost equally. (6- 4 European Cups in Liverpool’s favour/ 14-10 to the reds in UEFA/ Continental titles.). Bona fide European Royalty if EVER there was some.

You then throw in our first game since the absurdity of what happened in Naples, and everything is set up for Ajax to feel the backlash from these wounded reds. Which I fully expect. But then that’s the inherent difference between Scousers/ match-going supporters. And ‘fans’ who just pontificate and nark on-line/ across SM. The latter embarrass us all with their utter twaddle of this team being finished and the season being over. In early September! 🤦‍♂️Whilst the former understand the context of the key injuries/ slight tweak systemically/ the super short turn around from playing every single possible game last season and the physical and mental fatigue therein/ and the age old part of football of teams, even great ones like ours, having dips at times in seasons.

And one things for certain tonight. Unlike the incessant narking and cry ______ on-line, we’ll be giving our shared passion even greater backing and support when they need it most to help them out of this current funk and get back to the World class outfit they still are.

Now we might not beat Ajax later of course. All sorts of different factors go into winning a game of togger on the day. But this will turn again sooner rather than later and these lads will be involved in the fight for everything once more come May and early June.

So when we get to that point, again, you’ll honestly feel much better about things having been a supporter who kept faith with them rather than a fan who went WAY OTT after an early run of poor form/ performances.

My only fear tonight is over the silence. As anti-establishment as I am, with Royalty at the very pinnacle of that, I believe you should always respect a death regardless. But you know full well theres a good chance some won’t given the strong anti-Royal/ establishment feeling here amd how we’ve suffered at their hands more than most over the decades. hopefully the majority wins out and rhe dissenting voices are kept to a minimum. Not got a clue how Ajax will react. 🤷🏼‍♂️ But having their own Royal family you’d think they’d be respectful too. Here’s to it passing in a dignified and respectful manner. Heck knows we don’t need to give the divvies another stick to beat us with! 🤦‍♂️

Straight into these Redmen! We have an appointment in that wondrous City by the Bosporus to keep in early June!

UTR! FTT!!!!!

Well that was much better and, more pertinently, much more like ourselves and what we are. Really good night, on and off the field, with a super display to hopefully end this mini-blip at the start of the season that could and should have been a real thumping for Ajax with a bit more luck in front of goal.

I couldn’t have been prouder and happier to ruin what many shithouse media outlets and opposition fans were hoping for by an almost impeccable silence. I won’t lie that I was fearful we’d be giving them all they needed to be calling us worse than ***** again this morning given not only the anti-establishment feeling here. (For very good reason. Something they don’t and never will get. We don’t protest against the Monarchy. They are just the figure head of what we stand up to and rally against. But a simple, political, anti-establishment protest like drowning out the national anthem gets completely misunderstood by the base ignorance of the general populous as being anti-Royal and somehow anti-British. 🤦‍♂️). And they way they were disgracefully trying to preempt what they craved from us added to a fear they’d get that with a ’You aren’t telling us how to behave!’ reaction yer know? But, bar what was literally TWO dicks, one shouting ‘Liverpool’ and the other booing (which lead to others telling them to politely ‘Shut the F up!’ Which never helps and makes things sound worse); we do what we ALWAYS do when it comes to respecting a silence for someones passing. Perfectly observed and dignified by the majority.

Soz abar us to disappoint the Country that we have standards that they’ve disgracefully slung around the past few days suggesting we don’t. *****! 🤬

And I couldn’t have been prouder nor happier with the team in their best showing of the season since they volleyed City all over to pick up the seasons first silverware.

It was no coincidence either that we tweaked things and for the first time this season since the CS, went back to our normal MO with all three forwards a lot closer together rather than the nonsense of trying to make Mo and Diaz touchline hugging wingers. And subsequently, the L’pool we know and love under Jurgen returned with a vengeance! The shape was back.We were compact once more and everyone knew their positions. The press, for the first time this season since City, was finally back and causing Ajax all sorts. As the front three were closer together to trigger it. And the compactness running from front to back allowed everyone else to follow. And the one major missing component to the league games was back. Our main identity ….. The intensity in our play and everything we do! And once the confidence was flowing, that was a really enjoyable watch again with Ajax lucky to not be going home with a similar scoreline to what we received last week in Naples or worse as they were dominated from start to finish.

Which, for all the utter codswallop about ‘L’pool being found out/ Klopp needing to change things/ having no plan B/ the squad not being Anywhere near strong enough’ etc ad nauseam, was all that has been missing. The team rediscovering their identity. An identity that has made them almost unplayable to stop under Jurgen. And why no match-going fan has panicked like all the on-line nonsense.

We know football here. And we know our team and just how ridiculously good this group still are. They were just in a funk and hopefully last night’s great showing was the first building block out of that with the return of something like Klopps Liverpool. And to come out of it just 5 pts off City, sat in a real good position in the CL group, is a real bonus and great platform to attack everything from once again.

Full marks to most every player last night bar Trent who was still off it. But at least his lethargy was gone and the work-rate and intensity was back in his game too. All positive signs going forward. Harvey was a little under par, naturally, as he’s going to be up and down like any 19-year-old developing footballer. But his ceiling is frightening so no concerns there. Shout out to Jota too for a top all round game. Something he’s lacked outside the box but he was great in that regard. And Thiago is just different gravy. If only we could keep him fit. *Sighs.

Just a really solid, really good, all round team display to build on going forward.

All played out under a great atmosphere. Which was added to by our friends from Amsterdam who have been brilliant over the last few days here and as friendly as could be. Can’t wait for the return in Amsterdam next month.

Frustrating, to be polite, that we now have to wait until after the break and Brighton with the disgrace of Chelsea going Sunday. But just great to have not only a really enjoyable night at the match again. But to wake the next morning with next to nothing to complain about them.

Boss to finally have Klopps Liverpool back.

Up the ‘Hello! Remember US!!!’ Reds! FTT!!!!!

So Napoli won then. Excellent. We beat Rangers back-to-back we’re all but through in all likelihood.

Hopefully Napoli get at least 4 pts from Ajax. But even better if they get 6. And we then come second and get Bruges or Sporting in the knockouts! 🕺🕺🕺

I would not play Ajax down even if all their team has immigrated to Manchester United. They thrive also under CL light being underdog. Against you and Napoli they are playing home also.

Napoli/ Ajax

Not arsed which one gets more points from the back-to-backs so long as one does.
