That ‘poor summer window’ was of Slots choosing mate. He didn’t want any more upheaval after the coaching change bar a DM. Which they got him before the Basque **** on everyone with his lies. And then again in January he was quite happy with the squad he had all more or less fit for the second half of the season.

It was interesting to hear him say Friday that he doesn’t mind rotating. But only from a 15/16 man core group.

Does that suggest he might downsize the squad this summer?
I think that was Slot kinda towing the line with not wanting an addition last sunmer. I believe it was more of the upheaval of Klopp leaving throwing a spanner in targets and contracts.

In terms of not rotating I think he will learn eventually that if he wants to compete especially in Europe and beyond he will have to rotate. Against PSG was the first time I felt we actually looked tired especially ET. The first choice midfield has been run into the ground imo. It took him only recently till Jan to start trusting Endo and Elliot for me has been vastly underused.

I dont think he will downsize the squad I think he will eventually realise the importance of rotating once he gets players in that he actually rates/trusts.

All relevant points. But looking leggy against Paris ET is in large part down to them playing in a proper weak league where they could rest 8/9 players before each leg. Where as we play within ourselves first half Southampton. And there’s no let up from the leagues bottom team.

Must be nice to be PSG in France, or Madrid/ Barca in La Liga where you can take big chunks of the season off at a time. The PL, not so much.
