Think Carragher is in their for experience, because no questioning Skrtel is the better player

think after strengthening the attack, the defence could do with 1 or 2 in the summer aswell

Oh don't get me wrong i no Skrtel is the better player, just hasn't impressed me lately.

definitely could use another player or two in that department.

Liverpool Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

The 20-year-old becomes the Reds' second signing of the January transfer window after penning a long-term contract with the club and follows the arrival of Daniel Sturridge.
Afterwards, he explained to Liverpoolfc.com why he's delighted to have secured a switch to Anfield.
Coutinho said: "I'm feeling very happy, it's a very important step in my career and I'm expecting to come here and play good football to give my contribution on the pitch.
"Liverpool is a great club with great players. We've always heard about Liverpool's history in Brazil. They are the club that have been interested in me and that have showed this interest so I know they believe in me and my football."
Coutinho, who has one cap for Brazil, began his career at Vasco da Gama before moving to Inter Milan in 2010.
He has also spent time on loan in Spain at Espanyol.
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said: "We're always delighted when we get the players we go after.
"It has been a successful transfer window for us, coming off the back of acquiring Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea and now Philippe from Inter Milan.
"I think that bodes well for us for the rest of the season and the future."
Coutinho will be the fifth Brazilian to represent Liverpool after Fabio Aurelio, Diego Cavalieri, Doni and Lucas Leiva.

Is he related to the da silva twins in some way? Pundits in Italy say he needs mature off the field. Apparently his diet is poor and he dosent train hard and if Liverpool can sort stuff like that out then he could turn into a decent player. I guess Borini wont get a look in now. Has Rodgers finally realised he is *****?

And on the Carragher subject. Apparently he has told Rodgers he wants more game time lol

Borini wasn't bad at the start of the season. Really hasn't impressed in the few appearances he's had since his injury though. But Coutinho shouldn't really have much effect on Borini seeing as they play in different positions.

Yey, you're still posting in this thread.

Big game tonight, a win and there is genuine hope of a higher finish than expected..

Hoping we line up like this

Reina
Glen - Carra - Agger - Enrique
Hendo - Gerrard - Lucas
Downing - Sturridge - Suarez

Sterling needs a rest and has looked jaded recentley, and Skrtel seems to have gone behind Carragher in the pecking order

What a good prediction, just 1 off ha

Glad Skrtel has been dropped, he's been off the boil lately. Maybe we should have taken Man City's offer of £20 Mil

Fairly obvious statement to make, but it seems which ever side turns up from both teams will win

Both have been fairly inconsistent this season, and at times amazing, others very poor

hopefully will be a very good game

And more importantly a Liverpool win.

We're gradually starting to get back into the game, after the goal we kinda dropped off them.
