To be honest i didn't really like gerrard's comments that he might as well regret sometime in his life the fact that he didn't join Real Madrid neither of the times he had the chance..I was expecting a more Liverpool loyalty statement than that....

Jesus ******* christ, the man stayed with you for all these years didn't he? All he said was that he might eventually have some regrets, that doesn't mean he thinks he should have joined them or he almost did, just that it was a fantastic option to play abroad for one of the world's other iconic clubs. I'm no fan of old Stevie G but you can't fault a guy for wondering what could have been occasionally: he's only human.

Since he decided to stay at liverpool he might as well stick to that decision.....I have never seen totti or any other captain that their name has been connected so much with a team and they have spent their whole career into that team say that it might have the wrong decision for them. I am a huge gerrard fan and this didn't change after this comments but i am just saying that he could have easily avoid saying them

Which is why he's still here? Jesus all he said is that he could regret it some day when he's retired and past it all. It's not like he just came out and said it was the biggest mistake of his life staying here.

Surprise, footballers are actually people and they may occasionaly wonder about their past decisions.

I am just gonna say one last thing about this, Gerrard stayed his whole career in liverpool and i really really apreciate him, he is one of my favorite footballers, he made sacrifices about LFC in return he received all this admire by the fans, now liverpool is making sacrifices too for him having him in the starting line up of each each game while he is not as 'capable''' as the last years, if you take a look around the world, xavi who was barcelona's captain for so many year now is a substitute, lampard contract wasn't renew, and many other examples, liverpool at the moment is in a really bad situation, the last thing the team needed was a doubtful captain...he is one of my favorite players if not the number 1, but i think those comments are silly to be made right now...

Don't be silly. Gerrard's in the team because he offers something. Don't fool yourself into thinking Liverpool would tolerate him in a starting role if they didn't think he was good enough.
 
He shouldn't play every match, we just don't have enough midfielders to replace him really.

Fans were desperate to see Gerrard in a further advanced role and we got that at QPR - It only highlighted how effective he is playing deeper in terms of starting attacks and keeping the ball moving

Gerrard is being asked to play two roles as the shield of the defence and also the deep lying playmaker - Put someone like Mascherano next to Gerrard for example, and he is still one of the best around

I still find it staggering people would not play Gerrard when his recent season was one of the best all round one's of his career
 
Is it true that Ronaldo has more goals and better conversion rate than the whole Liverpool team this season?
 
anyway I hope tonight it will be one of those magical European nights that happen in Anfield, with gerrard being the leader of a great performance by the whole team. Hope we show everybody today that we can win real madrid, wow how great would it be if we actually manage to win tonight!! YNWA!!!

Well considering Liverpools conversion rate will include every type of shot possible from balotelli blunders to shocking lovren headers at goal from corners yeah it is probably true.

No idea mate. I've got a feeling BR will leave Balo on the bench and use him as an impact sub. The sight of Borini/Lambert running at the Madrid defence must have Ramos and Pepe quivering.
 
I really hope Liverpool play something like a false 9 formation tonight - Pack the midfield with pace and energy and play on the counter attack.. something along these lines:

Mignolet
Johnson - Skrtel - Lovren - Moreno
Gerrard - Allen
Henderson
Lallana - Sterling - Coutinho
