Liverpool fans shouldn't forget the fact that last season was a massive leap for you, from finishing 7th to challenging for the title and finishing 2nd. In all honesty as good as Rodgers did last season it kind of didn't do him any favours either because suddenly that weight of expectation was massive. Also any team is going to struggle when they don't properly replace a man who scored 30+ goals for them.

also losing a 20+ goal man also to injuries... Like i mentioned previously, this season has basically been around par with that looking poor based on higher expectations from last season

I do not think it's rocket science.Every time a team has a great season and it sells all his key players it has difficulties the next season, Dortmund, Atletico, Liverpool etc. It's easy to blame Rodgers and not take into account that Suarez who scored 30+ goals was sold and sturridge who scored 20+ goals was injured almost on every game. Honestly I see LFC's team and i can't understand how is Rodgers fault that we did not get in the top four. (Semi-final is one game, everybody can lose it, that's not my main concern). Seriously take a look at the team. Sturridge out for the whole season(almost) subs are Lampert and Balotelli no need to say anything more. Therefore he completely changes the way LFC plays to fit into his players. That shows someone flexible and worth trust. That man is playing the whole season with sterling or Coutinho as false 9 and still got us 5th so far and in the semi final. If that is considered as a failure sorry but i think you are completely out of the reality. Bayern last week lost 3-1 from Porto because it did not have its key players available. Rodgers is playing the whole year without the players that scored over 50+ goals last year, and he is still 5th, is like Real Madrid without Ronaldo and Bale, Barcelona without Messi and Neymar, Bayern Munchen without Robben and Riberry... Come on guys be logical...

In my eyes i think Rodgers got it so wrong and bottled it today. Just because the media have been piping up with the "get Gerrard to Wembley" campaign does not mean he should play. Everyone knows he's now a liability to Liverpool, everytime he seems to play they seem to struggle they lose their flow. Well done to Villa, lets hope they grab themselves another upset in the final.

I agree with this... Sentiment played a part today when it shouldn't have

On a purely selfish level, it will be great to see Klopp in the EPL. He is such a character and it would be hugely fun to see him, Jose and Van Gaal go after each other every week

Personal available, signings adjusting, injuries.. there are many potential reasons as to why the style of played changed
In my opinion Liverpool should have expected better this season with the injuries. I had been saying this last summer - 9 out of Liverpool's starting 11 started more than 30 games last season, and the only injuries that hit them were on positions where they had adequate replacements (CB and LB). You are pushing your luck this season to think that the whole team could go through yet another season without much injuries, and when the injuries hit the position that you do not have enough depth you lot couldn't cope with it. To be honest Liverpool's injury problems weren't even that bad, but the squad depth just isn't there.

That and the lack of adequate replacement for Gerrard because a lot of your goals and assists last season came from Gerrard's set pieces. Take him and Suarez out of the equation and suddenly scoring goals become a problem. The goal difference for this season shows that.

Add in Sturridge being perpetually injured, and Sterling's no show this season, and a lot, lot of goals died up in a whoosh. Probably the only good thing to happen from that was the emergence of Coutinho, who probably has been Liverpool's best player this season.

Van Gaal doesn't insult or have a go at any other manager, he always fights with his own management.

That's exactly what Pelligerini said when he arrived in England till he got embroiled in a title challenge with Jose. Always good to have more characters in the English game nonetheless. We really lacked them aside from Fergie after Mourinho left

Yeah, doubt that'll happen. Haven't really seen LvG and Mou go at each other till date >_> He'll do it against Wenger, and come out on top, mainly because he hates him. Similar to Guardiola. But not really sure that'll happen with LvG or against Klopp.

Besides, haven't really seen LvG bothering or being bothered about mind games. From the looks of this season, he's more concerned about improving his team rather than bothering too much about an opposition manager.

Thats because LVG and United not even been in the title race this season which is why Jose has largely left LVG alone. Next season if United continue to perform, we could see a proper rivalry forming which should be exciting as both are great charismatic managers in their own way

can't understand how falcao can help liverpool's team he is another small box player who doesn't help. he is(was actually) a great scorer but we do no need another player like him . we need someone who will will be more flexible as a striker and can play in the wings and as a center forward. someone fast who will fit and have similar characteristics with sturridge and suarez, not somone like carrol, lampert, balotelli etc

That's harsh on Falcao IMO, he does work for the team and Balotelli is nothing like him, you'd do very well to get a striker like him I think.

I think it's evident we need to pull out the check book and sign some mercenaries this summer. Champions League may be a factor in some players decisions but every player has their price. You only need to look at Man United this summer past to realise it.

They are very old friends. It's unlikely to escalate. Much like Ferguson and Mourinho.

After Attending yesterday's FA Cup Semi Final - I think the sooner our ( Liverpool ) Season is over the better , Too many time's yesterday we looked like boys against men and it was Villa who actually played the way we were supposed to.
Countinho and sterling are relied upon way too much and other players needed to do something and i think Carragher's response on Twitter was spot on , Liverpool need another super striker to put the ball in the net and nothing else , plus we need players in every position IMO , another rebuild is needed and I Do not think Rodgers will be there to see it , Big name manger needed with an Iron fist to sort out the club from top to bottom , Haters Commence but I am Liverpool through and through #YNWA

Yeah that's true. he is better and he is trying but that is not enough. Yeah he is good but not good enough. I don't know how much we might pay for him but probably will not be cheap, those money can be invested in someone better. with better characteristics

Rumours are Monaco wont budge on there valuation, that's why we are not interested. So would cost about 43m and about 275k wages per week.
