Ben Smith
@BenSmithBBC Nathaniel Clyne is scheduled to have medical with #LFC today ahead of his £12.5m move. No change re Benteke. Yet!

Independent saying Liverpool want to swap Borini and Lambert for Benteke... I can imagine they do! haha

Villa will probably not be interested, but a 10-15mil offer plus those two would be good business (In my opinion, anyway)

Oh, if it came down to something like that, as much as I don't rate Benteke, much rather that than paying say £ 21 million on the 28/29 year old Bacca who may or may not of adapted to the English game.

No one arguing that benteke is not a good striker, he has a good scoring record but you have to remember Villa PLAY to his strengths. The problem is that were buying another square peg to fit a round hole. You ask any villa fan and they will tell you he is near useless if you dont get the ball early to him or cross it. We had one of the lowest crossing stats for the 2014/2015 season, it just doesnt make any sense to me. If he is our plan B aka a battering ram against strong centre halfs then 25 mill plus is alot of money for a battering ram. For those that say benteke likes to get in behind, he does not stop lying to yourselfs he will mark my word be carroll 2.0.

You would much rather buy benteke who does not fit our style of play, instead of Bacca who clearly does. His age doesnt matter if he gets us that top 4 place with his goals.

I would much rather buy neither.

But it would make slightly more sense to do a cash plus player deal for Benteke than pay £21 million for a 29 year old who may or may not suit English football. At least to me. I was just comparing those two scenarios.

But I'm by no means a fan of Benteke. I'd rather save the money and struggle through with what we have than blow £20/ 30 million on such a limited forward who you quite rightly say would be worthless the way Rodgers plays.

Is this what it has come too. ****** **** that we now have to overpay for an option (benteke) even though clearly he doent suit us. money wasted however minimal it is, is still money wasted.

No knowing if Bacca wouldn't of been as big a waste in English football.

Again, personally, I'd rather have neither all things considered.

So had Jackson Martinez until Atletico came in.. We are not getting him but it's never done until its fully confirmed

This ones a lot further advanced than ever Martinez was. Clubs agreed and a 5 year deal with the player agreed.

But you're right. Never say never until it's official.

Sean O'Driscoll set to announced at LFC Assistant Manager.... Very underwhelming to say the least.

That's a **** take. You wouldn't even stoop that low on footie manager.

Good luck getting the players to respect him. 'And WTF have you ever done in the game? As much as Rodgers. Exactly. Do one bollocks!'

Usually i would agree with you but sean o driscoll is well respected through out the football community performed wonders at doncaster rovers playing great football. He is most importantly an excellent coach, hence him being fast tracked to the england unders. Excellent appointment in terms of coaching, afraid he might be a bit of a yes man but just like with pepjin lijnders we are atleast appointing individuals how are good at their job. Trust me guys we could do a lot lot lot worse.

I think you're grasping. A lot.

We dismissed Mick Marsh and the man Rodgers did trust right through, whatever we think of him, Pascoe; on the basis they 'weren't experienced enough.' Now we're appointing, as assistant, a guy with NO top flight experience and relatively little in the second tier. He's that well 'respected' he's never been given the opportunity by any Premiership team. Why is that? (And not buying Rodgers violin string quote.). Who the FA appoint holds little weight for me. Just look at the current full National manager. ****, Noel fricking Blake was in charge of the U-19's prior to O'Driscoll. (And did something O'Driscoll failed. Got his charges to the U-19 Euro finals. Twice.).

This is an Everton type move. Highly embarrassing for me given what will be Liverpool Football Club's 1 and 2.

But then I fully expect them all out of a job by Christmas so it probably makes sense.

We are about to sing a this young fella from barca

Looks good from the video.

Ugh. 2017 Champions League Final in Cardiff.

This kills me being as we doubtless won't be there. LOVED going Cardiff those 6 years. ****** all over Wembley. Not a bad speck in the stadium and you're actually right in the heart of the City rather than being stuck out in the ****hole that is Wembley.
