Flamini being out is a big help for the Arsenal game.
 
See what i mean about people over exaggerating?

we need signings, but although Everton had injuries we had our entire back 4 out injured as well as Lucas and Allen. With all them due to be back quite soon we can still get 4th place, signings or not.

What a night that was though!

We have the same amount of injuries as them.. Not to mention our injuries are to considerably more important players. [Back four + Lucas] - so can't really put this result down to that.

Great game, though. I hope Sturridge never ever takes another penalty. Ever. Almost as embarrassing as one of United's penalties the other day.

I'd say worse considering Sturridge is meant to be a striker and well.. Phil Jones isn't...

I thought it was Welbeck who missed the goal by about 40 yards?..

Regardless, that's the last time we let anyone take a penalty just to get a hat-trick. It could have been 5-0 if Gerrard or Suarez had been given it.

Oh, i'm not putting it down to that, like you said we both had alot of injuries.. i merely mentioned it before some fan from another team used the injuries claim
 
BBC and Sky reporting about the Konoplyanka deal, Ayre isn't involved so it might happen

I agree, I understand the sentiment, but not if the player is a terrible penalty taker.

Not sure if Sturridge has ever taken pens before but one would think being a striker, he should be decent. God help all England internationals and their penalty-taking skills
 
Konoplyanka seems to be gathering pace. 18mil euros the price

Obviously would prefer defensive cover/ defensive midfield but its another very good attacking player if it goes through

To be fair to him, it was a complete rush of blood.. completely rushed penalty. You would hope in future he would compose himself a little bit better

Most are saying that personal terms will be done tomorrow, looks like they're moving quickly on this one.

Aye ... Should take nothing away from his fantastic all-round performance. Tore apart the Everton defense completely. Definitely has a reserved seat on the plane to Brazil
 
I don't think Konoplyanka will do us any real favours. Saying that, I've never seen him play. Who is he going to replace in the starting XI? Rodgers won't bench SaS. Then we have Cou and Sterling, and he would be stupid to bench them too. We could play 2 up top and 3 in attacking mid, but that would leave Gerrard alone in midfield and would be defensive suicide. Would rather see us spend 18 million on a defensive mid

The best sides have competition for places.. it will allow us to rotate and freshen things up, plenty of options.

We do need a DM and fullbacks but they may not be available for what we want so we may as well wait until the summer
