Liverpool didn't offer him £180k, they offered him £100k. And according to Tony Barrett, Sterling is looking for £140k. £180k is a figure taken out of thin air by junk press.

Im still very confident a deal in the summer will be reach, probably around the 120k mark

Yeah, probably so.. Unlike Suarez, he hasn't come out openly demanding a move.. Besides, I know people are talking about Ojo and Ibe, but will they straight out fit into the first team next season?

Although, the situation may likely change a bit if Liverpool fail to qualify for CL, which is probably why he wants to wait until the end of the season.. Sterling may either want to move, or will atleast demand clauses or something of the sort..

If we get a top 4 spot, then I'm 99% sure he'll stay. But let's be realistic, our chances of getting top 4 are slim at best. And without CL next season, I think Sterling leaving/staying is 50/50. But he won't be sold to a Premier League rival in any case.

Suarez was world-class where as Sterling only has the potential to be at the moment - I cant see any club stumping up the amount we would want

Ibe is ready, Ojo is not at the moment but a replacement would still need to be purchased

So he is not a money grabbing teenager but rejects 100k a week, and he would have signed last year for less but now wont?

And this interview was supposed to clear things up? All it has suggested is when the going gets tough Sterling think's it's better to explore his options

"You want to be working with world class players day in day out"
"Hopefully I can reach where I want to go"
"Assess where I am at the the end of the season and see where I am to achieve my goals"

The lad is off sooner or later, banging on about dreams, hopes, ambitions, goals etc. I reckon hes off no matter what you offer him.

Andy Heaton @Andrew_Heaton Follow That BBC Sterling interview, for the avoidance of doubt, the club never sanctioned it. Read in to that what you will.

the funny thing is this whole fiasco is being dealt as if sterling is the second coming of jesus himself. it would be career suicide for him to even think about leaving lfc, considering he is just a good player with potential. that is all.

Why would it be career suicide? If he goes somewhere like Arsenal he would thrive.

HA, what nonsense is this.

But hope he stays well away from arsenal.

Most probs City or Chelsea.

Uhm no, that's not gonna happen, he won't be sold to a league rival. We didn't even accept Arsenal's bid of £40m for Suarez even though it activated a clause. There's no chance in **** they'll sell him to City, Chelsea or Arsenal.

Watching the interview now. "It's not about the money at all". What a crock of ****.

Sterling in the summer of 2017 will be playing in Manchester. Watch this space.
